This is a very good boy! For a zoo deck, it's lots of power for low cost, but I think Soulbond is a decent drawback.

Love that it brings good boys back from the dead! That said, I think it might be too dog focused if you know what I mean? I know that many PWs are specifically focused on a type, but think they work better if only one ability refers to the type directly and the rest just play well with that type. The issue, of course, what playstyle are Dogs generally?

It's like a reverse hunted creature! Unfortunately I think it's too strong - it's essentially 9 power for 5 mana since it's hard for opponent to get rid of the mail man. Even if they do, you have 6 power for 5 mana and they needed to spend a card and tempo to get rid of the mailman.

This card is very strong, especially for its cost. It is interesting enough to consider anyway, though, requiring that you build your deck around it before it gets oppressive, and once the metagame catches up your opponent will see it coming from a mile away. I suspect its biggest limiting factor to be that it's competing with Delve cards, but in a 60-card format you don't need them and in a 100-card format you don't care.

I really like how the question in the card's name is asked about halfway through the card's text. It's interesting how your opponent usually gets the first trigger of the ability, but most decks aren't built to get a good deal out of it, so you're probably safe anyway. The chaos that ensues would probably entail that it get a high cost despite not being super strong.

This feels like one of those mechanics that they would test out in an Un- set first, just to see how it plays intuitively. It's also a very cool! It's a cost that's usually easy enough to pay, still feels like a lot, and makes your opponent feel clever in the rare case it backfires. My main issue is that this would be very awkward to use and build a deck around. The zero toughness means you can almost never play it as itself rather than a copy of your opponent's creature, and even if you do, the seven power is restrained by the defender ability, so you can't use it offensively. Also, there is no given that your opponent will be running a creature heavy deck or one that runs multiples of any given creature, so the best way to make this car work is have a deck based on giving your opponent creatures.

I think this card is well costed, and the flavor is good. The Role is pretty basic and doesn't feel that interesting itself. I'm also not sure if the ability goes in blue. Good balance otherwise.

This is a really good role. Battle Cry and Goad make this a good way to make your opponents fight, but it will come back to bite you when the game becomes a 1v1. Retrace is a little random, but I get why it's there. I think it's a bit overcosted, and I'm not sure if should be castable with just black, but it's a great Role.

Search your library for a basic land card, put it onto the battlefield with a Sage Role enchanting it, then shuffle. As long as that land is enchanted, it's an Elemental creature in addition to its other types and has base power and toughness 2/2. (The Sage Role gives it +1/+1 and, "Whenever this creature attacks, scry 1.")

I think you went with the right version here. I like the Role as a way of animating a land, because it gives you a marker to avoid the usual memory issues with animating lands. It's not very strong, but I think that's ok at common, but could be pushed a bit more. It's a different thing, and I like it.

I like these cards that are variants of an effect that's been printed many times, but with a set-specific twist to make them new. This is great balance and cost. It's not a huge departure from other Role cards.

Another Role-based variant on a common type of card, I like that. I like the Traitor role as another negative role. Good cost, and I like how it has a lasting effect that's good for the sort of aggressive deck that would play it. I always feel bad using these sort of card without a sacrifice outlet, but this deals with that. My only real complaint is that it should probably be uncommon.

Dead is a complicated effect. I'm not sure the first line works as written, but I know what you mean. A "Dead" creature still has static and triggered abilities, so you might want to target your own creature sometimes. It can also be sacrificed or freed by enchantment removal. I think it's costed alright, Flash might be too good at uncommon. Definitely a new effect for a Role.

There were a lot of really strong entries this time, but I'm going to have to give the win to mystic1110 with Oathpyre. It's an interesting new Role that I could see on a number of cards, and Oathpyre is a elegant twist on a classic type of card.
