Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Something I only just realized after seeing it mentioned in the Backer's Choice thread: Jirix refers to the Dark One's realm as being on an iron plateau. Given the indications that the OOTS-verse uses the Great Wheel cosmology, that puts it on Acheron. Kind of a cool little nerdy detail.

That is nice and nerdy. It also makes the Dark One LN(E), not really LE as expected.

The Black Dragon is chasing a bunny! V is good! S/he saved a fuzzy wuzzy bunny wabbit so s/he must be good! /sarcasm
For clarification, its the dragon below the underwater dragon.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Bah, it was probably a Chaotic Evil bunny.

Is that Eric or Julia, though? There's about 7 years between Roy and Julia, IIRC, and an eight-year-old Roy behaving as he does in that panel seems consistent to me.

Julia never wore orange, Eric did.

I'm thinking "Yay! Thwack! Thwack!" is quite a bit too simplistic for an eight-year-old with excellent mental scores to be saying.

We've seen Eric *once* in the strip. I don't think we've ever seen Julia as a child apart from possibly the panel we're talking about. How on earth can you say that she never, ever wore orange? Or that Eric only ever wore orange?

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Roy is 12 years older than Julia. But I do think the younger sibling was originally intended to be Julia, but has since been sorta-retconned nicely.
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I think its Eric because it looks exactly like him in all of his appearances. This doesn't necessarily prove anything and it is probable that this strip was simply meant to establish that Roy was not an only child (I don't think either Eric or Julia had been explicitly mentioned at that point).
Regardless I still never noticed the baby in that strip :smalltongue:

On the second page, Eugene jokes about the "secret martial arts master who lives in the afterlife" - who, as it turns out, does actually exist.

On the Julia/Eric thing, I do remember that before Eric was even revealed, a lot of people were realizing that it wouldn't make sense for that to have Julia, given the respective ages. People were already wondering who that child was.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I just noticed that the Lizardfolk forum avatar has three toes on one foot, but only two toes on the other. I wonder how he lost that toe. One would hope in some glorious battle with a PC and not something like he tripped on a rock or something...

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I haven't read the whole thread, so I don't know if this has been mentioned.
A couple days ago I noticed that the names Vaarsuvius and Pompey are straaangely similar to a certain volcano and city destroyed by said volcano.

Many, many times, but whatever. :smallwink:

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I notice that the bear-hood of the chief ogre in this strip opens its eyes when it's stricked by Xykon's lightning

Panel 9, the Giant uses a Lamp instead of a light bulb....never noticed that before.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Just re-reading some old strips again, and I never noticed before that Dorukan's reason for allowing Summon into a Cloistered area was Lirian. Probably because I hadn't read SoD at the time I first read that strip, I didn't recognize her from the Order of the Scribble and just assumed it was some generic girlfriend of his.

Kuboto is reading a 4e DMG.
And he has the PHB and MM in the Amazon box next to him.
EDIT -
http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0568.html
just a few pages later Belkar mentions turning the oracle's head into a litter box for Mr Scruffy. Yeah i prolly noticed it the first time, but it's funny in light of recent events...

So, people who got their copies that day would see Kubota had got the same.
Or so I've heard.

Nope.
One says stuck by lighting. Not stricken by lighting. Stricken in used in contexts of a disease, or similar. Sudden, violent destruction is usually struck (Struck down, Struck by lightning)

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Clearly he was stricken with a terrible case of lightning to the face.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Having just read SoD, I just noticed that Panel 4 here is a continuation of Spoiler
Show
Eugene's encounter with Lord Xyklon the Consequential.

In #32 there is a refence to Wizards of the Coast...
A bit subtle....
