Tell that to my mother--she's quite happy to strike up a conversation with a total stranger. I can't count the occasions where I've parked up and gone to get the ticket for the car park, and when I arrive back at the car she's chatting away to someone from the car next door.
I prefer to only do this with people I think there's a reasonable chance I might meet more than once, myself. :smallwink:

It's always jarring to me when age is mentioned here. Makes me feel really rather old.
Also, apparently during the time I was asleep, RB moved on 6 pages. Stupid time difference.

You wretched young whippersnappers. Back when I was a nipper we didn't have these new-fangled "forums", we made do with a series of Post-it notes on a board somewhere and people put up *film* photos of their cats doing humourous things.
Now get off my thread, you kids! :smallannoyed: *waves zimmerframe*

My gran still puts up humerous pictures of her cats up... on her fridge
No captions though. That would just be weird.

So, I had some friends over last night. Well, more of when I got back home they were there playing Super Mario 3. Ended up staying up late, having a few, watching Game of Thrones, having a few more, and they ended up staying the night.
Fast forward to this morning, and I wake up at 6:30 to the sound of footsteps. Before I could remember that I had people over, my adrenaline kicked in, and I grabbed my pistol, ready to clear the house. I then remembered that I probably knew the people walking around, and decided to check on them, since they were easily up until 03:00 and should probably be asleep. I walk out of my room, and one of them's cooking breakfast for everyone.
tl;dr, I have awesome friends.

You're not old till you're in your 70s. My dad was born in 1949. And his dad was born in 1899. (Why wasn't I born in 1999?) Old is a funny concept that way.

22 is old?
Now I feel really old. 25 here.
Southwestern Ontario, on tornado watch, I'm starting to suspect the 2012 rumours could actually be true.

Just kidding.

Born in 1949 is only 62. I swear you said 1939 last time.

Oh! Oh!!!!!! My dad is 70-something! Think he's 73. And he looks alot younger than my almost bald Biology teacher, who is 13 years his junior, and acts all "Old Biology teacher"-like. When my dad is older than him. :smallconfused: I really don't get it either.
Soo... how many freshman are in the Playground anyway? (Not college ones, you guys are all old. :D)

I may have made a typo at some point ... But no. 62. Really if you're 60+ you're old, but it'd be rude to call my dad old. Even indirectly. He looks 40 something, but still.

Likewise, though my parents are a bit older because they're in their forties. Still...I now feel like I have youthful parents. Which is fine by me, it means I get plenty of time with them.

Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
Three days really seems like a week. Or two. I mean, when thinking back on things, not that much stuff actually happens, but it seems like it does, which is enough to me. Well, 7 more days and things will turn into something that could be called normal.
Also, I hope that I'll find enough free time to cook myself up a number of lunches to freeze down and save for later. Restaurant food is expensive, and I'm starting to see the bottom of my wallet, and because I lack a card, getting my hands on more cash will be a moderately burocratic process I'm trying to avoid for as long as possible. At least I don't have to get used to living on my own yet, as I've decided to live with my parents for another year.

Do you enjoy pasta? There are some really cheap brands out there, and you can just make a huge batch then microwave some later. Microwaved pasta has been a staple of my diet for pretty much ever.
