Urrrrgh, I just woke up sick. What a wonderful way to be on Christmas.

I'm going to go out to a Chinese restaurant for Christmas with my mother's side of the family.
As for gifts so far, I didn't get much. Just a calendar, a slinky and a Wii game for the family.

Tell me about it. I at least got some advance warning. I was sick two days ago. Sore throat seems to be better now, but I've still got a cold.

You got the greatest gift possible.
If I won the lottery I would buy one million slinkies and a slinky playground to put them in.

Eh, not likely. A bunch of things have put me in a foul mood. Ah well, at least yesterday was nice.

Dear Santa:
For Christmas this year, I would like a fantasy or sci-fi film or series that is free of both soft screaming female characters and strong female characters that have to be 'softened for viewing' by rape. Failing that, I would like a punching bag capable and deserving of feeling pain.

Slinkies are worthless coils of scrap metal. More joy can be coaxed from a piece of bark.

I don't know what to watch first!
- Les Choristes
- MST3K vol. 10.2
- The Giant Gila Monster
- Swamp Diamonds
- Teen-Age Strangler
- The Giant Spider Invasion
- Porco Rosso
- The Spirit
- Whisper of the Heart
I can't seem to decide. What does Random Banter think?

I could indeed amuse myself for hours with a strip of bark. What's your point?
Also, Porco Rosso. Pig's gotta fly.

Re: Il'deav Ilah'naie's Indiscreet Intimacies on Indigo Iceboats Random Banter #135
This part of RB thinks Whisper of the Heart. But the only one I've seen is Porco Rosso. It was rather average.

hmm. well, I havent heard of any of those, so I'm going to close my eyes and point to my computer screen and see which one I'm closest to. :smalltongue:
My finger landed closest to Les Choristes.

Re: Il'deav Ilah'naie's Indiscreet Intimacies on Indigo Iceboats Random Banter #135
Hmm, I am most bored. All my friends are either out of town visiting family, or amusing themselves with some newly gotten gifts. Literally (and I use that properly) there is no one online, not even busy or away, on MSN. So, I'm killing time by watching episodes of Chuck on Megavideo, but they have a stupid thing going on where if you watch more than 72 minutes of video (less than 2 episodes), you have to take a 54 minute break. So, at most I can watch an episode every two hours. I suppose I could pay, but that would kind of defeat the purpose of a free way to kill time.

Gah, Christmas!
Your presents come at a toll!
So this year, I asked for Xbox 360 games for Christmas. Left 4 Dead 2, GTA IV, and Orange Box.
And, wouldn't you know it, my 360 gets the Red Ring of Death on Christmas Eve.
I've shipped it out, and am awaiting its return.
Meanwhile, I need a hobby...

Zoe from Firefly is pretty much free of both, isn't she?

Have you looked into voodoo? Or worshiping Cthulhu?

Funny thing, on the way from Toronto to Miami the pilot gave the typical speech, you know "we're arriving at X", "fasten your seatbelt", etc, and he mentioned that Miami was "70 degrees Fahrenheit or 21 degrees Celsius, so it's a bit cold". I think it was -10 Celsius in Toronto that day.
Anyway, the plane I took there was headed to Uruguay (a Spanish speaking country) with some people connecting to Argentina (another Spanish speaking country), so it would be safe to assume that a good percentage of the passengers would be either Uruguayans or Argentineans, but despite that I didn't overhear a single conversation in Spanish.
WTF Miami?
In other news, big family christmas lunch/dinner today. Now, I knew when I chose to study abroad that I wouldn't be up to date on the latest news but his was ridiculous! First I found out my family had "gifted" our dog to the police. I knew they were probably getting rid of her soon but still it would have been nice to know.
Next, I found out my cat died some time ago. This cat was the cutest cat ever. He was missing half a leg and, despite being a full grown adult, was the size of a kitten.
Large pic in spoiler:
Also my brother started a new business. In another city.
And my mother wrote a book. It's not published or anything, it's more of a 'for the family' sort of thing, but, why the heck didn't she tell me?
Apparently they just "forgot to mention" all this stuff to me. What the heck? how do they forget to mention that my pet is dead!?

There's only one way you can sort this out.
Kill them.

I've tried Hoodoo, Voodoo, Cthulhu, Yog-Sothoth, and even a pretty cool Disney song.
Nothing has worked!

Well then, have you ever tried worshiping some inanimate object? Preferably one that's hilarious to worship? I hear toilets are quite popular for this.

Yes, but Zoe is a character, and Firefly is a series. A series which includes Kaylee, whom I totally adore, but could be described as a "soft screaming female".

I got an Xbox 360 !
It's an Arcade, but I don't care. It's a 360.
I also got a box of Chaos Space Marines. Again, not the Battleforce I asked for, but I don't care. It's better than nothing.
...I'm really optimistic, aren't I? :smalltongue:

I went with this, and watched "The Giant Spider Invasion". I find this episode especially funny because the movie was filmed in Wisconsin. A few scenes were filmed in the science building of my college, way back in the 70's. It's funny that I could tell you where most of those scenes were filmed, because the place still looks fairly similar almost 40 years later. I guess remodeling isn't in our school budget. :smallconfused:
