Re: Tomboys and Troublemakers Part V: Zut Zut Zut and a Bottle of Bordeleaux
As always, I'm looking for excuses to leave behind our tag-alongs just so there's not so much background fluff in the action scenes. The NPC's are fun to complicate matters when we're ambushed and neat to bounce off in our RP, but the game's not really built for parties of ten thrashing their way through combats, half of them terribly vulnerable. Especially not the way we play!
Bully's a little bit of an exception since he's basically a special Talent that Jasmine now has that allows her to reload guns extraordinarily fast. I can't force Bramble not to target him with effects, but his explicit mandate is basically to reload her guns for her and keep his head down, rather than to have simply given out a magic gun that makes reloading really fast.
As for everyone else, I recommend the NPC's stay behind. And we can roll to see if they had an adventure behind our backs, when we return. Honestly...
- Servant of a master who fell into a nurgle cult, and barely escaped execution by association
- Farmer who was a slave to the skaven and was miraculously liberated far from home
- Entertainer fostered by a dwarven hardcase who was her father's best friend
- Bretonian noble girl pretending to be a male squire
- Magical prodigy whose foster family was wiped out by monsters
^ that's the most WFRP party that ever WFRPed. They could only be more WFRP if they were catching pneumonia in the Drakwald.

Regine could offer to teach you how to read/write, but she dies in 12 hours so that won't get you very far :smalltongue:.
lets call it 1.5 gc for a week.

Re: Tomboys and Troublemakers Part V: Zut Zut Zut and a Bottle of Bordeleaux
umm guys Gimgroth is gone I lost his sheet in the forum's purge of old OOC threads. It's my fault for not reposting in the current OOC thread and keeping him in the old one but I wasn't aware of the 1 year timeout on the delete of OOC threads and I don't think they were really doing that policy. I think it sucks huge time but not sure what I should do about it.

Re: Tomboys and Troublemakers Part V: Zut Zut Zut and a Bottle of Bordeleaux
Well that sucks
Did they announce they were gonna do that?
You have 6135XP

Re: Tomboys and Troublemakers Part V: Zut Zut Zut and a Bottle of Bordeleaux
Ahh! That sucks! I was literally looking at the old OOC threads when I was doing my big post for the Damsel!
I guess the admin decided to actually follow through on their rules about purging old threads all of a sudden to try to solve the site issues. This may require some regeneration of poor Gimgroth, but we may be able to reconstruct him a little from his rolls in threads that still exist…

Yikes mate, that blows :(.
I'm sure if you contacted a site admin about it they could probably restore the post?

I’ll check my history to see if I have it in my cache when I get home.

Hey Bramble, just to follow up on this:

Are you okay with this, or would you rather not? No hard feelings if you're not or anything, I'm just curious.

Oh shoot, I got it. Wayback machine didn't have it, but Bing has a cached version! No Dwarf Left Behind!
If you go to Bing and put in the URL in the search engine it'll bring up the first hit; then you can click the little down arrow next to the result and get the 'cached' version.
Now, that won't let you edit the results so you can lift it in a neat copy-paste, but atleast it's somewhere to start. Also, the lastest version I can get is the one from the 2nd OOC thread - up to Veteran, not to Judicial Champion. You'll have to make your best guesses and re-level up to the XP Wilphe has kindly logged for you.

Thank you this is amazing that I might be able to get him back to a somewhat restorable spot. I did find in my files this. so I have the formatting I just need to update to what you found and then rebuild from there. Going to take a bit but not hopeless thank the stars. I was kicking myself. I think their scripts were doing the auto cleanup according to their posted policy but it made people ignore the posted policy. Still don't like the move to start enforcing the policy without a heads up. Ok one thing I am missing is the runic hammer that Glod made for Gimgroth. It allowed for an extra attack so I'll need to look up the name of the rune. Also no idea how much coin Gimgroth would have now versus back then. I also remember getting a plate helm.

Re: Tomboys and Troublemakers Part V: Zut Zut Zut and a Bottle of Bordeleaux
Unfortunately we didn't start a new OOC before the old ones got wiped or he'd be at the top, anyway, special stuff for him I show as follows:
a rapier with a jewel in the pommel. the blade is razor-sharp and is inscribed with writing that seems a tad out of focus. the rapier is slightly magical, and the classical on the blade comes into focus. it reads demonbane, slayer of Vro'dros Ambergazer this blade has the impact quality against daemons. and glows red when they are nearby
Gift runic item - Best Quality Warhammer (Hand Weapon) perm rune of fury temp rune of might
Flower Crown of Taal
Once per day, you can cast stags leap on yourself. the crown has 2 magic dice you can use to cast it
+++++++
Rune of Fury
Type: Weapon
Inscription Number: 20
Empowerment: 6
Description (Permanent): When wielding a weapon bearing
this rune, a character gains a +1 bonus to his Attacks
Characteristic.
Description (Temporary): As permanent, but once the rune
is activated (a free action), the benefit only lasts for 1
minute.

Re: Tomboys and Troublemakers Part V: Zut Zut Zut and a Bottle of Bordeleaux
Thanks Wighard. The last recoverable sheet had the demon slaying rapier but I couldn't remember what the Rune names were. I'm going to busy the next couple of lunches at work restoring what I can to this character. I think it's not as dire as it looked yesterday.

Re: Tomboys and Troublemakers Part V: Zut Zut Zut and a Bottle of Bordeleaux
Where is Beatrice's sheet right now?
Maybe we move to new OOC to have everything in one place?

Ah, boo… sadly Bing seems only to have cached a bunch of later pages of the 3rd OOC channel, not the 1st page with all the sheets.
Beatrice may need to reinvent herself.

Re: Tomboys and Troublemakers Part V: Zut Zut Zut and a Bottle of Bordeleaux
I have evaluate and dealmaker, but not haggle. So I know what something is worth, but I can't negotiate a good price (well, I have fellowship 67, so half is 33 and with the +10% of dealmaker, I should be able to do something if everybody has other things to do).
-

Regine has Haggle and Fel 55. She's got Evaluate and 67 Int too.
But she'll be kinda busy over the next six hours or so and then kinda hard to reach after that lol.

Allowing the Swashbuckler talent to also allow one to use Leap to disengage without provoking attacks of opportunity?
*Turns to look at MrAbdiel*
What say you, sir?

You'd want to attach a roll to it so it's not perpetually useful. You want it to be somewhat useful like most Talents are. Given Regina's gobsmacking Agility, I'd be inclined to say a +0% Agility roll when you commit to moving out of combat to deny the enemy a chance to attack you, with the roll taking a penalty equal to the enemy's outnumbering. ie. 2:1, -10% difficulty; 3:1 or more, -20%.
That's what I'd do in this particular situation.

I'm fine with making it contingent on an agility test. There's already a test for Leaping, but it's strength based, and even if you fail, you only lose 1 yard leapt per degree of failure.
