So that's what happened to the Invisible Hand...

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Hold off selling that landspeeder kid. Spaceships are even more costly.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Okay, that was... different... I knew Stormtroopers were rather incompetent but that was... wow. I don't know, I'd have liked something else then and there.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I wondered how they'd pull this scene off. Brilliant :)

The D&D troopers have always been portrayed as pretty stupid, if friendly.

They dared insult the sllmighty Dalek race. They shall be EXTERMINATED :smalltongue:
Nah... really, how common are miniatures, unless it's a game that really requires them... the best we came up with yet were Legos for our party and those... mostly for fun. The maps are almost ony in our heads when my gruop plays. (Except back when we played D&D 4th ed of course)

Really, it depends how tactical you want to be, but there's nothing stopping you from buying cheap chess sets or using pencils and graph paper (though the latter will get messy).

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
The Cantina theme started playing in my head the moment I saw this strip.
Heh.

Guilty. So guilty.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I'd be more concerned if it didn't immediately start playing in your head. It certainly did for me.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Isn't it nice that this part has its own theme?
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Since classic themes are discussed, how many people have heard this version (cantine theme starts around 9:00)? :smallcool:

You are among friends here, it is okay to share (that). It stayed with me well into work.

Now I feel terrible because it didn't start in my head... then again, I'm much less of a Star Wars fan than most of you, I guess.

Nah, using like... paper clips and stuff is easy, but like... real miniatures that look like (or are supposed to look like)... stuff. Aliens. Monsters. Traps.

Jim has clearly made a lot of progress. He is using prexisting characters from the DM's backstory and incorporating it into his own characters. AND HE HASNT TALKED ABOUT CHEDDAR MONKS! Clearly, this isnt jim, he is a pod person who took jims word for it when he claimed to be an awesome roleplayer.

We'll probably get Frozen-in-Carbonite Jim for a considerable part of the plot, so don't worry.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
It's gonna be fun to see how Jim's conversation with the radio goes on the peace moon.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I can see them putting that in more-or-less verbatim, actually.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
So, 50/50 odds of Jim calling Han Greedo, or Greedo actually being the character and Jim having to switch again?

Ponda, followed by Babyarm-Dead-On-The-Cantina-Floor Jim?

I think, that at some point, he did say, his character is going to be Greedo. It's even funnier, because Greedo was already killed as a kid by Anakin.

To the victor goes the sidekick?

Awesome roleplayer? I don't know. Old Jim was way more fun to play with. I'd rather joined a group with him than new Jim.

Personally I'm hoping we see Jim and Annie break up for some period, during which Jim reverts back to his old ways.

Oh yeah, old jim was way more fun, but this new jim seems to be more into actual roleplaying, though I get the feeling he is very hit or miss in his attempts. And he thinks he is awesome at it.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
We haven't actually seen New Jim in action yet, really. He's been dead for approximately 98% of the story so far.
