Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
This is probably the first time I've seen males cheering when a woman says 'let's go shopping'. :smalltongue:

They're 'shopping' for weapons/parts. That falls under either Guns or Cars, which are two of the very small number of things a Man will enjoy shopping for.

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Am I the only one who kind of feels like Girl Genius has a tendency to lose track of the plot? We saw it before in Sturmhalten and in the Castle, but it feels like it's happening all the time, now -- digressions into minutiae about random obstacles like finding parts for the zappy stick or whatever. It just feels chaotic, like it's not really going anywhere.

It's remarkably interesting to do a reread of the Mechanicsburg arc (which is like six years long!) and see what we learn when it's not coming in dribbles. The webcomic format encourages the reader to miss the forest for the trees.

Sometimes not dying means you win. Sometimes it means you lose.

I think what's happening right now is more character development than plot. We're seeing Agatha get used to commanding her minions to go off and do dangerous things, even when she's not directly in the Madness Place. She's really starting to become a Heterodyne.

Yes, Othar, because the best way to remember something you're looking for is to tear off a robot's arm and beat it to death with it :smallamused:

Honestly, this was the most useful thing Othar has ever done.
And I love how Tarvek doesn't see that all sparks are overbearing and dangerous to be around.

Definitely, not to mention for Moloch and now

All Sparks being overbearing, self-aggrandizing, and certain death to be around does not imply that everyone who's overbearing, self-aggrandizing, and certain death to be around is necessarily a Spark.

Remembering what some sparky dingus is called is not the same as knowing where one one be found.

HUP probably means that someone closed a terminal window. :smallcool:

Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Let us not overlook the really important event here.
Violetta is back on scene.
The snarkiness quotient will go WAY up...

Yeah, that's the impression I got. Othar wasn't sure what it was called, but he knew what was needed so he went off and got one from the clank.

Well, it was terminal for the clank, anyway.
Good thing it didn't catch the signal. He should've just used SIGKILL.

I suppose I'm forced to agree with you. I mean, isn't Mechanicsburg in the middle of the process of being thoroughly and systematically carpet bombed, according to this page?
Time isn't exactly luxury for them, where they can allow themselves to dilly dally around town, looking for nifty thingamabobs to upgrade that staff with.

All that page says is that Mechanicsburg will *shortly* be destroyed--there's no indication that has started yet. In any case, we know the Baron's troops are scattered throughout the town, and he's not going to bomb his own men unless there is no other option available to him.
-
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
They seem to be already starting the bombing on that page. Though I guess they are about to wait for the citizens to flee first.

-Big Boom Boom sound effects right in front of the north gate-
"General! Dey iz walking shells down de north road! - Big vuns!"
You'll excuse me, when I say that I prefer taking the word of the one on the receiving end of those bombs.
-
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
I felt that those bombs weren't a general bombing run of the city but just to level the walls so that the rest of the troops can get in. I mean wasn't he not going to vaporize the town so he could try and capture Agatha?
-
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
My point exactly. The Baron appears to be trying to capture Agatha at the moment, and he can't do that with the pointy end of a shell.
-
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
Wow. Agatha is in the Madness Place again. Something will end up badly here.
-
Re: Girl Genius XIII: "Gott's Leedle Feesh in Trousers!"
In the tradition of suggesting the next thread title far far far too early, I propose
Girl Genius XIV: "It is sooo READY! HEE HEE HEE!"
