In other news, I just finished my first math exam, and I'm reasonably certain I got a ridiculously good mark on it. Like, RIDICULOUSLY good.

Either you are soooo lying, or Germany is full of supermen, because lemme tell ya... Yeah, probably going to get them tomorrow. I've been improvising them with tissue soaked in warmish-hot water for today and it has gone down a bit.
@Mauvey: :eek:
I hope it wasn't fatal! Let us know when you find out more?

Two dead, one wounded. One, the probably murderer, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound in the woods behind the church.

I'm technicaly not lying. Might be Germany though.
What are gubbins? I can sort of guess, but gubbin as a term sounds so...weird.
Also, Muava, be safe. We're here for you.

Re: Elemental's Excitingly Excellent Random Banter: No.CLXXVII
Awww... my post got eated. :smallfrown:
For LaZ:
gubbins [ˈgʌbɪnz]
n Informal
1. an object of little or no value
2. a small device or gadget
3. odds and ends; litter or rubbish
4. a silly person
Apparently, I've been using the word relatively loosely, buuuut I've managed to still hold true to the definition. Technically, since I've thrown away the vast majority of the stuff I've gone through, it really was rubbish.

Re: Elemental's Excitingly Excellent Random Banter: No.CLXXVII
My priest has been murdered. I know most of you are nonreligious, but if you are a religious person, please pray for us.

We will. Even those who aren't religious, we can come together to hold hands over something like this.

Why would anyone murder a priest?
Or anyone, really, but...

I hope that the grief it causes you does not last long, and that your memory of these individuals does not decay.

Re: Elemental's Excitingly Excellent Random Banter: No.CLXXVII
I'm sorry to hear that, Mauve. I'll keep you and your community in my thoughts. I'm sure you already know, but I think everyone here will agree that if you need us, we're all here for you. :smallfrown:

I think this song may help lighten the mood, if only because of how calm and relaxing it is.

Hearing about things like these saddens me.
Just recently, a women was murdered forty minute's walk from my house, and now this.
I'm not very observant, and haven't prayed in a long while, but I'll include you and your church community in my prayers tonight.

Re: Elemental's Excitingly Excellent Random Banter: No.CLXXVII
I'll pray for you, Mauve.

Well, I'm an atheist, so I'm not the one to pray, but you have my thoughts, Mauve, or rather, lack of thoughts, because I think my brain employs mental lockdowns to prevent emotional damage when things get heavy (is "heavy" the right word? Do I even feel that way? man, sometimes I can't even tell my own emotions).
...
So, I don't have anything constructive to say, I suppose. I'm not even much of a consoler. And I'm rambling, am I not? It's as if I'm only able to think outside of my head at times like these, as if I need to see my thoughts for them to count.
...
Okay, I should seriously stop now.

Don't worry, what you said makes exactly as much sense as needed.

I'm not worried about not making sense, actually (perhaps "rambling" isn't the best word). It's just that the more uncomfortable the outside world becomes, the more my mind starts to focus on itself (myself?), and the only thing I can see is myself and my endlessly recursive thought processes. At one point, it gets so much this that it starts to block up my normal trains of thought, creating a huge mess and pretty much makes thinking impossible. At those points, I've noticed that the only way to clear my head (or at least empty at the same speed as it fills) is to communicate my unprocessed thoughts with others, and it's only through this that I'm capable of reflection.
The result: Endless tirades about myself, peppered with comments and parentheses of no interest for anyone but me, but the only way for me to process my thoughts is to read them as written text (or hear them, I suppose), so you get what pretty much is my whole thought process, rather than the trimmed down version I normally deliver, and it just goes on and on because I don't know how to stop. In my last post, when I said that I really should stop, it still took a great effort of mine to enforce that. Otherwise, I would just have continued to reflect upon why I should do it, continuing with how I apparently failed. Because, how do you stop thinking?

The thing is, you don't stop thinking. You just come to a conclusion. When something causes you to get rambly, it can be hard to find that conclusion, but its there somewhere.
I'll note, I'm quite interested in learning how people work, so this was quite enjoyable to read, getting a peek into your mind.

Exactly, you don't. Even at those times when I can't tell what I'm thinking, I know that I am thinking nevertheless. I can feel it. But now, it's not just that my thoughts won't get out, they get in the way of eachother as well. And it's not like there aren't any conclusions to draw, the problem is that there are millions. It's like my mind is the bastard child of a huge railway yard and something Lovecraftian, and the only way out is the single track that leads out through the tunnel of communication (or something, or something else). And the only way for me to tell what I'm thinking is to read it as someone else's thoughts, even though it's my own thoughts, if the distinction even matters.
...
(not even I'm sure about where this was going)
...
*some seriously confused ramblings that I just erased*
...
Okay, I think my head is starting to clear up now, which I know because I can't think of anything to write here...

Ah, the curse of being human. We have such a capacity for knowledge, we often get to overwhelmed with ideas and thoughts. This is situations where its probably nessicary to just meditate, or do some equivilent thing such as that.

Not bad at all for a first attempt. Keep working and improving on it and you will get far.
Speaking of avatars, I probably should update this one with a hairstyle. Or make myself a new one for Masqerade Week. Or try to get close to Inkscape in the first case.

Well, spewing raw thoughts at a computer screen seemed to solve most of it. My mind feels like a sea of tar and syrup, but at least I can think rather normally.
