"Hmm, what's that?" Doc follows the voice, calling out if he can't find the source.
You can't see the source of the voice because of the angle of the wall in front of you. Calling out, you eventually see a head poke out from the wall above.
"Hello!" shouts the voice. "Welcome to the farm! How'd you guys get down there? Would you like to come up?"
The head is clad in a helmet, and you can see he's wearing some type of body armor. He appears to be some sort of guard.
Natsuko smiles and waves up at the guard.
(For the record, she's already untied herself.)
Irfan waves, smiling. "Oh! H-Hello there! Yes, I'm sure we'd all love to, if that's alright!"
Adrian coils the rope and hands it back to Irfan.
The man disappears for a while, then comes back with something. He throws a length of rope down the slope. You all gape in wonder as a coil of what you think is rope knots itself into convenient loops for you to grab onto. "It's Smart Rope," says the man. "A gift to us from the Masters!"
Natsuko gives the rope a gentle tug and glances at her companions questioningly.
Doc sighs. "Great, Tekkies."
Irfan's eyes light up as he feels the rope, it's strange texture beneath his fingers. "Fascinating! I must see what else they have in there!" He quickly grabs hold of the rope and begins to ascend, enthusiastically.

Dog watches the group climb the rope. He examines the wall for an alternate way in.
Rettu: The rope has folded itself into such a useful shape that climbing it is as easy as climbing a ladder.
Dog: Climbing the wall would be a DC of 15. However, every other portion of this wall that you guys saw is capped by a 20-foot high wall, so you'd have to climb a total of 40 feet to get out of here. You don't have any climbing gear, so you'd suffer a -4 to the check; basically you would need to make individual Climb rolls every 7.5 feet of the ascent, and you would have a pretty hard time succeeding by climbing it.
Rettu gets to the top and sees the following scene:
About 100 feet to the North and a little West of the chasm you have just climbed out of a small camp has been set up. A 20 foot tall wooden guard tower is occupied by a man holding a spear and wearing primitive body armor (it appears to be studded leather armor). Another similarly armed man sits at the bottom of the tower tending a campfire. This area immediately around you is lightly forested. About a half-mile to the north the ruins of the City start in earnest; walls contained the remnants of collapsed roofs, here and there larger steel-framed office buildings stare at you will all the glass shattered a long time ago. Trees have sprouted everywhere, pushing aside foundations and concrete. It is difficult to survey the terrain to the north because the trees and ruins of buildings are clumped so close together.
"We don't have much to offer you, but we can make you some tea if you want," says the guard standing in front of Rettu.
Irfan smiles in a friendly manner. "Oh, that sounds lovely. Tell me, who are you people? You look to have such a fascinating settlement."
"We are guards," says the guard. You wait for him to tell you more, but this is all he seems fit to tell you.
Natsuko scales the rope after Irfan.
"Excuse me," she says to the self-professed guard. "Have you seen my sister?"
(And I sincerely hope that this repetitive question isn't getting on anyone's nerves. :smalltongue:)
Doc grabs the rope and follows. Getting to the top, he looks around and mutters. "Eh, not as bad as I assumed." He still eyes the guards warily.
"Um, yes. Indeed you are..." Irfan desperately searches for something to say. "Uh, well done. So, if you are guards, then who are you guarding? Who lives in the settlement below? Do you have any technology?"
Adrian waits for the Dragon to ascend and then takes a look around before climbing himself.
"We guard The Farm," says the guard. "We all live in The Farm. It starts over there," and he waves vaguely to the North. "The Masters have this kind of stuff," he gestures to the rope.
"Masters? If you don't mind me asking, who are these 'masters', you mention? And what do you grow on this 'farm'?"
"Excuse me," Natsuko repeats. "Have you seen my sister?"
(Yes, there's that damn question again.)
"The Masters," says the guard, as if this is self-evident. "You know, those who are in charge. We grow tomatoes, apples, wheat, barley, celery, onions, peppers, pigs, cows, chickens, ducks..." he rattles off a list of things that are grown on the farm.
"Actually, we just called the Masters, so you'll meet them soon!" He seems very excited about this prospect.
[QUOTE=souldoubt;5700601]"Excuse me," Natsuko repeats. "Have you seen my sister?"
The guard looks at Natsuko, and says, "I'm not sure. That is usually the kind of question we ask The Masters."
Dog sprints, leaping and bounding along the wall, looking for a place where he might be able to go through, over, or around.
Dog: The wall appears to be continuous as far to the left and right of where you are.
"Okay. I'm curious to meet these 'Masters' now. Can you tell me where I can find them?"
The guard turns to Rettu. "Actually, you'll meet them any minute! We called to them the second that we knew you guys were here!" He seems excited.
Dog keeps running. Either he'll circle back around or the wall will have to end somewhere.
Everybody climbs up the ladder, except Dog.
"Is that everybody?" Asks the guard.
Adrian looks around,
"Yes this is everyone, when will your 'Masters' arrive?"
