Ryl: Ryl has a hunch that the man has purpose and is not a random homeless person. The man reaches upward as Ryl stands. He grins, exposing that all of his teeth are not present. Then the man extends his hand in a fist; Open you hand, expand your mind, and take this gift I present. The elderly man speaks with a prophetic tone and the presence of ages past. Open your hand. Take this gift.
Maria & Berengir: Molly drinks until she can barely walk and looks for a cot or bed within the Lion's Pride in which to sleep. Where, bed, thank'ya deary. Scab finally stirs and walks out, waving a hand as he does so. He left 3 pennies on the table as a tip. Two human men walk in a few moments after Scab. The bell rings again to alert Maria of their entrance. They both appear to be tradesmen, possible working the Bazaar or something similar. They take a seat at a table against the far wall, not at the bar.
Oberon and Father Roark: Now in combat upon the relatively calm, upper-middle class streets of Green Ridge. Roark spins as he hears the CRACK to see a pistol-wielding thug at the corner wall to the northwest. Combat Round 1 (About the map: The walls here are 7-feet [black] with entry gates [grey] to the various homes. The street is [white] and your tokens are listed with a single letter. We'll use coordinates to note your moves. Please remember to list all actions; Standard, Move, Free, and list your current HP, AC, Spells etc. There's no need for initiative in this instance, the PCs move and then any opponents. MAP
Alice & Rufus: Alice knows of no one to the west of her home. Rufus replies that its odd to hear a gunshot in this neighborhood, but not unique in nature; Probably a husband firing a round off at his wife's lover, he said with sarcasm. Alice then remembers that Leonel lives north of her, not west.

Re: Dyer's Absalom Beguiled IC
Roark’s eyes dart to the thug by the wall, drawn by the crack of the gun. He stares down the figure for a moment, doing his best to size him up, before he becomes aware of another noise – a grunt of pain from Oberon, as blood blooms under his clothes.
“Hells!” Roark raises one hand, channels his faith through his fingertips, and released a billowing cloud of mist. In an instant it swallows the trio, pouring down the street and reaching into the sky, giving them some much-needed cover. Drawing his scimitar, he turns to his allies and lowers his voice, letting the words pour out. “At least one gunman, hidden by the northwest wall. Shooting to kill, so not a random mugging.” Run or fight, he knows they need to make their choice quickly.

Re: Dyer's Absalom Beguiled IC
A loud grunt escaped Oberon's mouth as he grits his teeth, slumping and catching himself on Belladonna's shoulder as he instinctively moved to shield her. He had just enough time to turn his head and try to see his assailant, but a thick mist formed around them. This was more than just a flesh wound that he could easily ignore. Once the rush of combat was over, Oberon knew he'd pay for this oversight. He cursed himself for not noticing the gunman.
Calm yourself, Oberon ordered himself mentally, repeating the oft spoken mantra during his days of training in the far off mountains. There is no situation that you could not escape from. There is no situation that you could not turn to your advantage.Think!
Oberon spent a heartbeat to gather his thoughts. There wasn't much time. "This can't be a coincidence. You two stick together, run and seek asylum. A gunman is at a disadvantage in close combat."
Without pause, Oberon turns and explodes with a burst of speed out of the mist, charging straight for the direction the priest mentioned.

Maria: The two tradesmen order ale. One of them, wearing a hide waist coat, places a silver weight on the table and leans in toward Maria, So, lass, a mixed breed was in here earlier. She mention anything specific?
Berengir: Feeling a bit worse-for-the-wear, the half-orc takes up Scab's spot at the table, pondering his next move.
Ryl: Unsure of what is in the elderly man's hand, the poorly-looking fellow holds both fists forward; Pick one, either hand, right or left. He smiles another toothless grin.
Roark: Releasing a cloud of billowing mist to conceal himself and Belladonna. Roark, with scimitar in hand, stands beside the young girl as she steps back toward the south wall.
Oberon: Feeling the bit of iron pierce his back, Oberon settles himself and charges his opponent. The assailant is dressed in black leather and wearing a simple bandit mask. Oberon's charge is precise, striking the bandit in the throat with his staff, the crush of his larynx sounds like the snapping of chicken bones. As the blow is struck, Oberon is aware of two more bandits 'round the corner.
Alice & Rufus: The shot wasn't unusual, nor was the casting of an obscuring mist spell in the same direction. Rufus was more interested in the job for Leviathan and how Alice might help him. After all, getting in with Leviathan again could prove useful, but taking part in the slave trade was tricky business and not part of the heroic morale. What would Alice do?

Re: Dyer's Absalom Beguiled IC
The crunch of the thug's larynx brought a grim smile to Oberon. He made sure his satisfied face was the last thing his victim saw. The satisfaction was cleansed off immediately as Oberon noticed a flicker of movement, and dodged aside just in time to evade a net cast over him. "Two more here!" He warned Roark and Belladonna. "RUUUUUUNNNnnnnn..."
His eyes glazed over, and his vision blurred. The last thing he saw was the blurry forms of his assailants as they flew in the air. He had just enough time for one last thought. How are they fly--oh... I'm falling. Master always did say my arrogance would be the death of me...

Berengir is enjoying a quiet corner of the bar, though not so much the smell of its last inhabitant. The drink is holding him together, like a warm blanket, and he is seriously considering going upstairs to his cot to pass out. On the other hand, wasn't there something about not going to sleep with a concussion, and dizzyness and vomiting? But...how was that different from any other night, perhaps a healthy dose of Bufo is not what the doctor ordered...

Even in a stupor, the "mixed breed" and the disdain it was said with, hammered it's way through Berengir's ears and triggered old defenses. Drunk and bleeding, Ber didn't think he posed much threat to these two, but none the less he quietly put his hand on the icer in his pocket and pretended to be oblivious and in his cups, an acting job he needed little help with at this point. Just ask yer damn questions and be on yer way, we've too much to do and I've lost too much blood already. Berengir thought to himself.

Oberon: The monk yells out his final command before falling to slumber. "RUUUUUUNNNnnnnn..." a warning to Roark.
Roark: First, the priest sees his newly-met friend rush from the mist into battle. Next, he hears the warning to run. He runs to the east and speaks aloud, "Left or Right". Roark is asking himself as well as Belladonna, but the young woman is in a flight mode of her own, she pulls leftward. Then Roark feels it, something tight lashes around his left leg. He uses all of his ability to stay upright, but falls prone. Looking up he sees Belladonna run helplessly into the arms of one of the bandits. The boot heal was his last vision as the priest is knocked unconscious.

Alice & Rufus: Seeing the mist but choosing to go inside, Alice and Rufus continue inside to discuss the dilemma that faces Rufus and further speak toward Alice's current case. Five to ten minutes pass when there is a KNOCK, KNOCK on the door.

Re: Dyer's Absalom Beguiled IC
"You place me in an odd predicament." Ryl admits to the old man as he looks at the second hand joining the first. " For one they say the gods work in mysterious ways, and that the right hand of god is normally a messanger. You came to be offering something from your right hand speaking in the voice of a phrophet. However the left hand is what does the work that must be done, and is often ignored or looked at in a darker light for their lack of following the rules." Ryl laments to the old man, not sure if he was truely following what he was saying. "Therefore if I must choose between being the Messenger and the Shadowy Hand I will have to follow the path that is left." Ryl says holding out his hand, but not to the left or right hand, instead directly between the two, leaving it up to the old man to detemine what his words meant.

The fact that she seems interested in helping bodes well as although he hadn't wanted to admit it the job was probably too big for him. At the sounds of the gun shot he shrugged. "Od for gun shots from that district. Best head inside." As they continue talking inside he raises his head at the banging on the door and Alice's comment. Alice: Alice hears a bit of shuffling outside the door; Uh, Miss Alice? Yes, uh, my name is Zhou, Master Leonel sent me with a dispatch.
Rufus: Rufus notes the gun shot and patiently waits for Alice to address the knocking at the door.
Ryl: Choosing to place his finger between each fist in addressing the old man, Ryl sees that both of the mans hands are empty as he unfolds his arthritic fingers. The man then presses both hands together as in prayer, grins that toothless smile that Ryl has seen a few times by now, bows slightly and turns around. The old man slowly limps down the sidewalk toward the south. ... Moments later, when the old man can no longer be seen, Ryl feels a burning sensation in the pocket of his breeches. Reaching in Ryl finds a single finger bone (likely a proximal phalanx) of some age. The bone is dark greyish-brown in color with black at each end. It is warm to the touch.
Berengir: Welcoming Truk to the table and pouring him a drink the two half-orcs share their kindred spirit of tall tales and warm brew. For Truk, the conversation then becomes more straight forward. Ber, I be need 'er help, again. See, Truk in deep wit da Barbers, cards see. He then makes a slicing motion with his thumb across his neck. Truk, need hed on shoulder. Maria: Glaring down the Tradesmen, Maria doesn't mince words with their inquiry. Why miss Maria, we meant no disrespect (Diplomacy [roll0]). Most take pride in their heritage. Yet, we know the lass was here and we have an idea what she was after and we're willing to pay for confirmation of that notion. But, if you're going to get all twisty on account, well, there are others who trade in information 'round here. The man in the wide brimmed hat leans forward. I think what my partner is trying to say is that we'll offer 50 gold measure for your trouble.
Roark: A female voice and the aroma of lilac spurns Roark to consciousness. The priest's eyes open to see a gorgeous, blonde human woman in a green dress kneeling to wake him. Her bountiful cleavage and sky-blue eyes are welcoming features to set the good Father at ease from his recent encounter. Father ... Father, are you okay?
Oberon: The pressing on his arm wakes Oberon, spinning up to a kneeling position with the haste of adrenaline preserved in his veins, Oberon sees a small boy, plump and innocent standing before him. His first finger lodged firmly up his left nostril. While his other first finger points directly at Oberon; You're bleeding mister. Hahahaha.
