I may be slow IRL, but Maiabel's pretty good at initiative checks. [roll0]
Edit: I knew, even as I clicked "submit reply" that I had tempted fate and would suffer the consequences.

@Waistcoatwill, I think we're looking for your initiative!
Sorry, still here!
Initiative [roll0]
Edit: like maiabel, cypher is much faster than me
Knowledge devotion, assuming that these things are aberrations so rolling dungeon delving using collector if stories for +5

Pffffwoaaar these crabs aren't messing around.
Good news is I realized my AC is 22 without my shield, not 18. Bad news is that changes nothing.
I have... two very challenging grapple checks to make, now!

[roll1]
EDIT: *Squints at character sheet, craving some hidden bonuses.*
..Nuh.
Just double-checking Jbe, sometimes Sharkan and Cypher get switched around. Is it the charming cat-man that has been attacked and grappled or the snivelling spymaster?
Also, Cypher rolled to read the second line of that warning text a while ago and git a 20. If it won't provide any more useful info since the door is open then that's fine, just thought I'd check.
alright, lets see.
[roll0] Grapple.
[roll1] Grapple.
I shall certainly be grappled.
It's the cat man, sorry about that.
And I posted the second line of the riddle a few posts ago didn't I? I'll double check.
If I didn't it reads: "Drunk by those who set their sights on their mortality rending, and drunk changed by those who've not yet the mind to see."
It’s the cat-man.
Beeeebupbupbadopbope-
Sorry.
But seriously we are gettin’ crabbed. I’m so bad at this.
“I’m gonna build an assassin cavalier who rides a little dragon”
“Okay what are you gonna do, the world is your oyster to plunder”
“I figure I’ll go into a lot of tunnels, prisons, towers.. restrictive spaces you know? Seems right. OH NO CREBS”
I don't know how I managed to miss that so completely, sorry!
@MrAbdiel, should have gone witb a halfling! We cam try to attack more shipping or the beast people next mayne? Surely they don't go in for lots of cramped spaces!? We shodbe able to make a nice chowder when we're done here though.
Haha, I'm just playing, I'm having a good time. I like that Lamorak is mostly a line fighter except when he's in his specialized elements occasionally where he's super powerful. It feels good to lean on the party. As long as we scrape out alive like always, it's all good. :D
Well, Maiabel wasn't built as a line fighter, but it turns out she contributes greatly to battle lines, when she has Island of Blades and three of four party members have Sneak Attack...
Wait, Whose Turn is it? are we waiting on me?
I believe so, then it should be my turn.
Initiative:
Cypher - 22
Lamorak - 20
Aberration 1 - 20
Aberration 2 - 16
Sharkan - 13
??? - 13
Maiabel - 8
Presuming that ??? wants to act, it's that thing, then Maiabel.
EDIT: Also, a cheeky reminder that Sharkan's target is at -2 for that save against stun, on account of my tyrannical squire's Aura of Despair.
Maiabel's up! Go for it! Don't hold back, by the way. If these things are what I think they are... Then we may be in REAL trouble if we don't flip this situation around in our favour real quick!
I apologize, I haven't been getting much sleep lately, so I've either lacked the rest, lacked the will, or just plain forgotten to post. But that changes now. Hmm... but is there a way Maiabel can help turn the situation around? We'll see. I'll assume I'm within 30 feet of a foe, that should make things easier.
EDIT: Used my most powerful maneuver. I am very grateful that skill checks don't auto-fail on a 1. So far as I know.
EDIT: You know what I should take levels in, or perhaps should have? Scout. Now, we do end up fighting as a line a lot, but Maiabel's also capable of a lot of mobility when circumstances are right. And while a single level would only get me +1d6, I do have ways of moving and still making multiple attacks, and will get more.
Nothin' wrong with another D6 of precision damage, I reckon, and you're right, you're super mobile anyway!
We could use an update on how beat up the lobster lads are looking, JBE; but I suspect they're both still upright which would bring is around to Cypher's turn.
Thanks for the heads up, will post tomorrow.
Wow, shockingly bad rolling there. Not sure if Maiabel is in position to give him an extra +2 to hit from flanking, but it would be greatly appreciated. I also assume monsters like these don't go flat footed whilst Grappling like civilised folks with a normal number of limbs!
This is an inopportune time to roll suck, Will! ;)
JBE, how are those monsters doing? Is Lamorak’s grappler still up?
Alas, I put Assassin's Stance up, to get the extra 2d6 since Death From Above would let me flank the foe "for real" with Lamorak, along with making a foe flat-footed. As such, Island of Blades is not up and only Lamorak gets to flank with Maiabel. ...I may have forgotten to specify that she was going to land on the opposite side of the monster from Lamorak, but if that's not possible I'll just get somewhere that Cypher can use to his advantage.
Booyah. Some well timed good rolls.
[roll0] to confirm the crit on the first attack, for an extra 12 Damage!
Presuming that hits, the first attack will deliver the Blade of Blood and do a total of 33 damage. The second blow deals 13, either to Crab1 or Crab2; and the third attack requires that save for half of 40 Damage (DC18 Will) on Crab1 or Crab 2. That save is at a -2, from Aura of Despair.
The boss is showing why he's the liege lord, very mice!
Just a little heartbeat post to check in. It looks like JBE has hit a busy patch but that's life for ya. I believe the lobsterboys are next on the initiative.
[roll0] to avoid being grappled!
Sharkhan is up - good luck avoiding that paralysis man, that’s a doozy! Hang in there, we’ll save you!
Constitution saving throw? Or did you mean fortitude?
[roll0] constitution
[roll1] fortitude
Welp! Either way!
