Anex comes out behind the rock and moves towards the designated location, looking around to be sure there are no more surprises
Volsung moves out of cover and over to where Simon lies. Bending down to do a brief, but ultimately futile, check to see if any of his vital signs remain, he broadcasts to Valen, "He's gone. You want me to call it in?"
Valen had come over to meet the medic by the smoking and crumpled mess that was left of Simon.
"Yeah. You do it. I'm getting tired of saying it...", the Lieutenant Colonel responded solemnly. He took a brief pause afterwards and then shouldered his DMR and began moving in the direction that he had indicated before.
"Val, hate to be the bearer of bad news, but we got a Leonidas 6 contingency. Repeat, Leonidas 6 contingency."
Vidarr slows a little and switches out his weapons. Meanwhile, Jason does his best to catch up to the sniper and the other half of Amber Team.
Anex comes out from behind the rock after clearing his jam and sees that Gunnar is still engaged with a single Jackal. The other has left and is nearly to the train station. And awaiting outside the door to the same building, is another four Jackals who have formed a wall of shields and are holding their ground.
Argyle was now passing the unloaded UNSC crates on his left and he neared to train station. He was on the northwest side of the building and he knew that the Spartans were all gathering to the southeast, near the initial spire tower that they had encountered.
Gunnar stabs the Jackal, ignoring its surrender. They had little use for prisoners, and G527 knew that. He wiped off his blade and re-sheathed it.
Volsung made the call after quickly glancing over Simon's body. He broadcast... but there was no return signal.
"Right; shortwave only, Three. Well try again once the storm on Gilgaddeon has rolled away. Let's go - double time."
Wilhelm jogged up beside Anex, intent on walking with him the short distance to the meet-up point by Gunnar.
"Captain. Looks like you had a jammed cartridge? You get it all cleared up?"
"Roger. Coming to join." Walking over to meet up with the rest of the Spartans, Volsung mutters, "Shatter'd and sunder'd. But then they rode back, but not, not the six hundred."
"Hooah.", your commanding officer offered with no enthusiasm.
After a moment, Argyle finally makes it to the rally point.
"Sorry Valen, the train got away, damn thing crumpled under hand."
That was for Reach. Gunnar says, pulling the knife from the Jackal. He then moves aside behind cover as he sheathes his dagger.
Yes, it seems to be fine now. Damn things, you would expect that after all these years, we would be able to make some decent guns that don't jam on you in the heat of battle, don't you?
Anex replies with a grimace, moving on to meet up with the rest of the team.
Valen replied to Argyle, "You did what you could, O23. Nobody can say that you didn't give it everything you had."
"Well, the heat from the rapid firing expands the metal, Captain. Sometimes, especially in these kinds of vastly different atmospheres and environments, things inside just get a little... wonky.", Wilhelm replied, obviously taking the question as less than rhetorical.
After several minutes, all eight of you gathered to the east of the spire tower, roughly 40 meters from where the only four enemies that you could see. However, none of them broke formation and they remained in position near the rear door of the train station... just waiting for what, no doubt, was the inevitable confrontation with you.
"Well then... It's time for mop up so that we don't get rear ended."
Argyle readies his DMR, turning towards the covenant and taking aim. After a moment he fires, if he isn't countermanded.
Let's see if I can get some rounds in this time.
Anex mumbles as he opens fire upon the remaining Jackals together with the rest of the team.

"You know," Volsung says, pointing his bruteshot up over the jackal's shields, "Two days ago, I would almost have felt sorry for these poor bastards. Now, they die screaming." Taking careful aim, he fires twice, letting the microgenades explode just behind the Covenant soldiers.
Vidarr opens fire on the first Jackal, three-round burst with his battle rifle. His shots are true to their mark and causing the blue oval to sparkle and crackle with the disbursement of the kinetic energy, with the third bullet disabling the shield entirely and piercing the Jackal's flesh.
Anex likewise opens up his assault rifle, the first two bullets from his barrage finding their target in the first Jackal as well, finishing off the creature as he crumples under the velocity of the hail of lead coming his direction.
Argyle tries to bypass the shields of the second Jackal all together, but both of his attacks are absorbed regardless. His first shot hits the generator in the center and causes enough damage to nearly knock it out flat, but it's his second shot that finishes off the shield.
Gunnar takes off, rounding the spire tower and moving closer towards the awaiting Jackals.
Volsung lobs two shots from his brute shot, placing the detonations just behind the creatures, right between the second and third ones... right in the middle. They reptilian-like Covenant scramble as the two mini explosions go off, each of them taking damage from either one or the other.
Valen opens fire, hitting the second Jackal with his first shot and killing the thing. His second and third shots both find a home with the third Jackal, tearing his blue shield to shreds and finishing off that creature as well.
Wilhelm charges out after Gunnar with his shotgun in his hands, the last remaining Jackal clearly isolated in his brown Gungnir Mark I visor as the other three quickly fall to the combined efforts of his Spartan brethren.

The last remaining Jackal makes a seriously pissed-off sound, his mouth opened wide and the 'hair' on his head trembling as he shook his head with the hiss. He then turned and activated the door he had been guarding with his counterparts, the green lights pulsating as it opened. Once it closed behind him, however, the lights changed from green to red. In addition, the energy barriers on the side wings went from slightly transparent to opaque.
They had locked the train station down, it would appear.
"Strange... Why wouldn't they have done that first. Shall we try overloading the barrier or shall I show the covenant that they've been lax on firewall updates?"
Argyle tilts his head slightly before turning his head to the battlefield, looking for plasma pistols. It's obvious he considers leaving them not a option, even with the radio-distortion.
3 Preferably.
Whichever is faster, I'd think. There might be controls for the rails in there, for all we know. Vidarr says unenthused by the whole situation. I don't see any other way to catch up to the train, besides stopping it dead in it's track.
Along it's tracks! Because it's a train!
Hush.
"We all carry grenades for a reason. I say we stockpile and blow the door like a glorified tin can."
"Only if I can't hack it or overload it, save grenades. Unless you want to spend a couple of minutes gathering them and setting them to go off just after I shoot the door... Now prep for breach."
Gathering some pistols, Argyle stands before it holding both out, charging.
Ok, let's give it a try.
Anex says as he readies himself to blast whatever might be hiding behind that door.
SpoilerReadied action to shoot at any enemies behind the door if and when it opens.
Argyle went around and gathered up some of the plasma pistols that had been dropped by your enemies. He equipped two of them and faced the front door of the train station, charging both of the guns with glowing green energy. As the rest of the Spartans move into position and ready themselves for whatever lie behind them, the Major releases his held shots. The two green blobs of plasma streak through the air on a lazily curving path towards the door, striking it beside one another.
However, the lights remain red and the door remains closed. Since you had moved somewhat closer, you could clearly hear the voice of a Brute inside, giving what sounded like orders.
Jason actually pipes up, "I think there's actually an opening in the top of the building. I spotted it when we were coming down the mountainside."
"Alright, so we can go over the top, or we can blow in the front. Anyone got breaching charges?"
"Such would have been useful earlier... We do have a abundance of plasma grenades we can use, I'm thinking I go up and over, distract them from the door, and then you breach, that way they'll be out of position."
Argyle lowers the pistols, looking up to gauge the height of the building.
Maybe if we throw some grenades in from the top, they come out from the front?
Anex suggests, as he keeps his eyes pried on the door to be prepared when it opens.
SpoilerStill readying, it might be that they open the door since there were commands issued.
"I can do that, but don't hod your breath."
As it was, Argyle had his DMR at the ready, preparing to jump.
You all move into position and get locked and loaded. Valen then nods to Argyle and broadcasts a simple command, "Do it."
O23 then jumps, engaging his jetpack with a light burst to further increase his vertical, and he lands atop the seven meter tall building with an audible KA-THUNK. Noises akin to panic can be heard from inside, but a barking grumble from a Brute nips that in the bud.
From this angle, Argyle can see that the roof is almost completely open to the air above, shielded with the same blue crackling energy that the wing entrances were before... and these were still transparent. Looking down at the Covenant who were now looking up at the source of the noise, you counted three Brutes and two shielded Jackals. One of the Brutes was well-armored and was carrying another Gravity Hammer. Despite the fact that you knew that they could see you... they had not fired a shot.
Argyle lowers his weapon.
"The doors are the roof, your going to have to blow it... You got three Brutes, one with a hammer, and two jackles... Gnomere-"
"Trying, giving you some roaming waypoints. Everyone I'm marking cover and covenant on your hud."
"Well then... Ok, demo orders..."

Knowledge Covenent of 8 [Gnomere, so becomes 12] for where it's relevent, I remember the knowledge skill being complementary in some way but I don't remember how.
If there are no means of communicating with the outside world I'll say so, and then we can leave the covenant, hopefully with some jury rigged proximity mines depending on how long that'd take to set up. If it's likely the roof would disapear if we blow up a wall, I'll ready my jump pack to 'fly' into cover when it does so, trying not to look like I'm prepping though to the last moment, I'll try to end up behind them, or in front with the others behind.
I think order of engagement goes Hammer, Brutes [Not, I say hammer seperately, as in we open fire on the hammer], Jackles, with jackles moving up if you can shoot them where their shield doesn't cover.
"Okay, if we're blowing it, mind if we delay long enough to scrounge up a few extra grenades, or d'you think we have enough ordinance on us to do it now?"

Argyle speaks with surprising yet subdued mirth.
