Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Spoiler
Show
Something I overthought of while watching this:
1. Marshall and Marcy are similar in all ways but gender.
2. Marshall is the son of a demon and the Vampire King.
3. Marceline is the Vampire Queen.
4. Marshall is the Vampire King.
5. That sounds like a informal title, making abdication unlikely.
6. Marcy's mother and Marshall's father are dead. Not just vampire dead. Like, double dead.

It is Marcy telling the story, so it's unlikely she would lie about details like that. A nice thing to note is that in one old interview, Marciline was confermed to have gotten the title by killing the King. And so,
Idea:
Spoiler
Show
Marcy's mother was a married vamp, or the closest vampireish thing to it. But not to Hudson, the Vampire King. Presumably, little Marcy was some sort of vampire-demon hybrid, mom died because of the King finding out she was infidile, Marcy got turned later, possibly by the King, and eventualy killed her legal guardian.
Meanwhile, Hudson's eating a sammich in the Nightsphere.

Inconsistent with the scene where Ice King finds her in the ruins after the Great Mushroom War. To him she was just a little girl who needed help and he wasn't the kind of guy who would leave her helpless.

I'm not sure if this is true in the show, but in the story board of "I Remember You", when Simon sees her, it says that they know each other. Not sure if it even matters, but it's something.

Ah, Fiona is so great. I LOVED her long hair. However, Cake with the more "realistic" limbs/body and big booty = a little creepy.

Yeah, that was just... odd. It bothers me a little bit. Not like Goliad, which is good-creepy.

Heard that refrain before. Don't buy it.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Oh right this show. Somehow or other I seem to have noticed this only in the last couple months and I seem to have watched every episode. Not sure how that happened. Or when.
Regarding Marceline
Spoiler
Show
Doesn't the alternate reality episode imply that she has no vampiric relations by birth? Because she got all old and wrinkled there when teh Ice King sacrificed himself to stop the bomb from exploding and didn't have the neck bite marks. That has to mean she was turned into a vampire later during the main timeline, and was born without vampire powers.

My assumption was that the bomb that created the lich is what made her into a vampire. In the main timeline she didn't take the blast at point-blank range and melt in a pile of goo, but was still exposed to the mutagenic powers and came out of it better off than most.

Another bit of reinforcement to this idea is that in "Memory of a Memory", she is shown as a little girl. She still has weird skin color and fangs, but no bite mark.

Given that Marceline bites stuff using her vampire powers (even though it's colors and not blood) and that she has neck bite marks, what evidence made you think it was the bomb that made her a vampire?
I kind of figured it was some other vampire. Maybe Ash, that guy she dated for a while.

Was he a vampire? I thought he was just a wizard.

The fact Ooo is a really, really weird place and the bomb is more likely than not the reason for all of the really, really weird stuff that happens there.
Not like we see any other vampires running around.

Marceleen is the Vampire Queen She got that title from slaying the previous vampire lord. Though they've yet to reveal the details behind that.

This not only answers a question but also makes me have to struggle a bit to keep the whole fire dance thing in perspective.
And you wonder why I just walked up to the bear...

Marceline is a demon. Hence grey skin and creepiness, and sharp teefs.
Marceline is the vampire queen, bought with iron from the prior holder.
Somewhere between being just a demon, and being the vampire queen, Marceline met a vampire, who was their king (possibly through being the only real vampire at the time), and it's nota hard leap to see her being inducted into his bloodline and then taking over.
Kinda like how Yeenoghu is a demon king, who is the king of gnolls, though he is a demon and not a gnoll. Marceline the vampire queen is less like msot vampires, and more like Dracula from Castlevania.

Why allow two actors to remain unknown when one could play both parts? Marceline's mother was the Vampire Queen, but vampirism doesn't transfer by heredity, or possibly just didn't in this case because Hudson's genes (or whatever) overrode them. Both she (and Hudson) abandoned her, and some time in the thousand years between the Fry Incident and Marceline moving into the treehouse, her mother turned her.

How do we know that her mother was the vampire queen? I don't remember this part.

Yeah Ash is just a wizard, my mistake. It's possible given the gender-swapped song that Marceline's mother was the vampire queen, vampirism is not hereditary, and that at some point after the fry scene, Marceline's Mom bit her.

No we haven't seen any other vampires, but we also see that child Marceline doesn't have bite marks on her neck and still doesn't have them during the fry scene. And alternate universe Marceline only refers to herself as half-demon without mentioning being a vampire. So, something or other bit her, unless your claim is that the bomb's affects caused bite marks to appear on her neck, which would seem odd to me.

Not related, at least not consciously. I can't really speak for my subconscious, it just does things.

Pure speculation considering that Marshal Lee said that he was the son of a demon and a vampire king, and it seems unlikely for Marcy to "lie" about a relativly minor detail like that.

I understood it as him saying that he himself was the vampire king, not his father.

How can saying that your father is the Vampire King not mean that your father is the Vampire King?

He was the "son of a demon" and "the vampire king", not son of a "demon and the vampire king".

Listen to the way he pauses while delivering the line. He doesn't say that. He says, "I'm the son of a demon, and the vampire king."

I rewatched it and completely agree with you now. That makes much more sense.

Yeah, the first time I watched, I did a double take. It was kinda bad wording.
