Yeah, but it was most commonly used in England.

In the same way that "human beings" were, at one point, some cute little single-celled organisms under the sea. Origin isn't everything.
Not entirely convinced on "Geoffrey" actually being British, but it does sound sufficiently convincing to non-Brits, I'll admit.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
Funny thing actually for a soldier to be named Geoffrey because it means either peacefull place or peacefull traveler

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
I half expected this strip to start with something like "ooo flashback time"
Also coffee will we be getting something like this? http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0277.html

Like 70% of the English language is borrowed from something else. It's not really a big deal.

One would imagine it's a Photoshop effect. Or he used a set of crayons.

One would think that original jokes were a sin in this section of the forum.

Trust me. You will not be disappointed with the flashback. At least, I hope you won't. :smalltongue:
And I'm gonna try to update on Tuesday!
1. So what do you think so far?
2. The TvTropes pages needs updating...:smallwink:

I was actually referring to the joke at the bottom of the page where the characters were not given sufficient warning.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
What do I think? Have I not given my thoughts?
Updating the TVTropes page now. Who in the world spoilers speculation?

Thanks, Allen. But what do you mean by the last sentence? :smallconfused:
Also, I think this is Serrin-appropriate music. Do you think this is Serrin-appropriate music?

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
Before my edits, the entry for The Atoner had that Lloyd may be an atoner in spoilers. Now it's a lot less subtle :smalltongue:
The track fits, I think.

Ah, I didn't understand the syntax. And thanks.
...I can't believe nobody took a good look at the third panel yet.

I have. What am I supposed to notice? The bloody weapon, or am I supposed to recognize one of the other people in frame?
-
Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
on the third panel:
well lets see, I see a young hobgoblin, young orc, an adult orc woman whom I assume is the mother, a mob of people chasing them and young Lloyd standing in the back looking stern or angry.
does that mean young Lloyd is disapproving of the mob? or like the others, he is hating the Plavaans because the red fever took his daddy away?

He's like, "Know what? If you really have something to do with this Red Fever thing, then you're getting what's coming to you."

Bingo!
Unrelated note: That music link I posted, you think it's appropriate for Serrin? I think so.

See, I saw that right away but I figured it was obvious enough considering context that I didn't need to call it out. :smallwink:
I considered mentioning it but decided it wasn't important. I guess it was more subtle than I thought.
That music seems fine for Serrin.

Sorry, I thought nobody noticed it. And thanks.

Lol, don't apologise. I didn't say anything so how can you be expected to have known I knew?
It was a nice touch for that scene, anyway.

I agree with him.
Of course, they DON'T have anything to do with it, so...
EDIT: I thought he was thinking 'Yeah, you murderers better run. If i were big enough i'd slaughter you like you did my daddy.'
But yours sounded less psychotic.

Also, Lloyd was eight. His prejudices and thoughts can be somewhat excused because he was eight.
These people were adults. And this was happening all over the country.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
Lloyd's Theme Song.
Lyrics:
Spoiler
Show
Like a blade of a sword I am forged in flame
Fiery hot
Tempered steel fire-bright to the night I take
I fear not
Now compelled by something I cannot see
I go forth surrendering to history
Your glory, I swear I run for thee
Your power, I trust it runs with me
Your servant, I am and ever shall I be
Through a dream
I have a come to an ancient door
Lost in the mist
I have been there a hundred times or more
Pounding my fists
Now inside, the fire of the ancient burns
A boy goes in and suddenly a man returns
I gave my word and gained a key
I gave my heart and set it free
There's no turning back from this odyssey
Because I feel so alive suddenly
And I wonder, is this really me?
Like a blade of a sword I am forged in flame
Fiery hot
Tempered steel fire-bright to the night I take
I fear not
Now compelled by something I cannot see
I go forth surrendering to history

Y'know, I actually was going to put the bloody weapon out in my first post, but I figured it was so evident that pointing out would be akin to making a joke, and then including a footnote saying "THIS IS A JOKE, BY THE WAY." :smalltongue:

And now I feel stupid. :smalltongue:
Feeling a lot better. I'm going to try for an update on Tuesday since I've got the day off.
You know, I really did a lot of research and effort into this, especially with the world and climate and the functional magic.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
comic on Tuesday? yipeeeee!
-
Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
I'd like to request that mr. Bumbles, the obese Scottish skunk, be made part of the comic at some time.
Because he is just that cute.

We can tell! You have this whole thing worked out pretty well, sounds like.
*edit: Glad you're feeling better. That's always a good thing.

Question for Allan Aokage: When you typed in "Go, Lloyd!" were you being serious or sarcastic?
-
Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
I just had a thought. When you get a chance, you should consider doing a cast page, like what OoTS has. I know I had Janine and Radic confused for quite a while, a handy reference might be nice.
Or maybe I'm the only one with a problem, I don't know.

I too had that problem.:smalltongue: Early on when he comic had just started.
