I was right, Gate 2 is much easier than gate 1, though having more Sumo CEs helps too.

The second 40 AP Mountain Pass Quest is pretty much the best Coral farming you'll get until we're in the event post game.
Rolls of Brocade are similarly best farmed from Hidden Hound Forest's second 40 AP mission.
The Boxes are currently best farmed from the second Monkey Tower 40 AP mission, but that changes every time a gate drops open.
Reddit has a pretty good guide for the event as usual.
For sure. I'm now up to dealing maybe 3 million damage! Also, yeah, Euryale is fantastic for this. Thanks nightwyrm!
Thank you~
Thank you also!
So, I blew a 10 pull, because you got to be in it to win it, right? Got Fuuma, some event CEs, nice but nothing special. One summon ticket... Raikou! Guess Berserkers are just my thing. I'm going to be fielding a whole team of SR+ Berserkers soon. This is who I am now.
Then I threw all the XP I was saving for Mash at Boobserker, and still need more. Way more. Back to the grind!
borrowing someone's sumo'd orion cause i haven't leveled my Euryale yet. that plus a hot springs CE has let me beat the 6 mil raid and now that i have two hot springs i can reliably beat both tamamo and the raid boss.
despite having almost every arts stall servant in the game i now realize how lacking i am in single target arts spam servants. i have assassin shiki, medea, euryale, and robin hood. and only shiki has consistent punch out of those.
I am planning on leveling Euryale, but the problem with Medea is her np just isn't enough for this kind of event, unless the event attack up CE also comes with a sizable np damage up (I already have the other damage buffs very eewe covered so they don't do a whole lot.) I might be able to make this work if I can get Helena's party np gain skill to 10 and use her as a support/second damage dealer but for now Medea lacks enough punch to be my main dps for a raid.
Gate 3 has proven the easiest at all, at least, if you have Jack the Ripper or bring one as support. Use her to knock out Kiyohime asap, then the most threatening thing about the boss if the burn debuff, at least if you have all assassins. I can regularly do the 3 million boss pretty easily. And I'll need to do quite a bit more, since I'm only halfway to being able to fully ascend Ridertoki.
Grinding the rest of the mats will be tedious, but not overly so.
A friend's Jack has been melting through the 3BP boss pretty reliably. Really need to kill Kiyohime quickly because she will put on the *hurt* on your units if she doesn't die fast. Better to burn a NP on her than to risk her critting and nearly killing someone.
I'm using so much damage multiplication that i am reliably killing the 6 mil boss with shuten douji
The Shuten Douji was for the third oni, and Nobu doesn't benefit as much from Tamamo no Mae. for Ushi gozen i've used jack, cause jack makes up for the fact that jack isn't arts. Nobu has the problem of not being arts and not making up for it. though that might not matter since i haven't had a particularly easy time staying alive against her. haven't lost yet but that's mainly cause Nero is an amazing backup who can generally kill the rest of Ushi Gozen off and live pretty reliably.
but dang, it can be a bit hard to live with Ushi randomly deciding that this is her NP turn and destroys the front row.
Yeah, the NP charge skill is really annoying. It seems like she always uses it when she's one away from her NP turn, except when a Invincible or Evade buff is up. Then she waits. My Nobu has usually dealt 4mil+ damage by the time Ushi can fire her first NP though, and my backline can clean up the rest, so it's not an issue.
i have decided Jack won't do, Shuten is superior Oni to this raid boss. plus it's easier to survive her NP with Shuten than with Jack and I can stall her NP longer with a full arts team.
Also Tamamo tanky, very very tanky... surviving that NP without a guts/evade/invuln.
My Nobu is only 70 and doesn't have her skills high enough to do tons of damage, not to mention that the first round of the battle goes too fast to effectively build NP. Honestly I"ll be better able to farm damage against the rider boss when it comes back, since I'm stuck doing the 1 million Raikou if I want to actually finish her off and get drops.
Part of Jack's problem with this boss is also that Ushi is accompanied by two Casters, a fact that bodes ill for the littlest Assassin.
Frankly, my latest attempt did really quite well with a guest Drake. Her third active pretty much guarantees that you'll be able to promptly nuke the two minibosses. And while that does leave Ushi to perform multiple actions per round, it means that you can bring out Assassins with, while not impunity, slightly less punity.
Also, anybody noticed Raikou's NP? She basically summons her Four Kings (filter won't let me use the proper term) - including Kintoki. Please tell me you recognized that axe.
Final note: If anybody enjoys the Learning With Manga segments, GamePress does their own version of them for events, and they are both hysterical and informative. Here's the Onigashima one they did. (Scroll down to the bottom for their advice on farming locations. You'll have to wait until the Ushi raid is down.)
I find my best way of clearing the 6 million version is to use a friend's Nobu as support, have her NP ready to use on the first round (or at most the second round) of the fight against the boss, along with her buff against divine opponents. It heavily damages the boss, and brings the minibosses to the brink of death without dying. Then it's a matter of building her NP again. I use characters with evade and invincibility, plus the first mystic code to give Nobu evade, so I can survive the two or three NPs when they strike at the same time (the crystals generally use their charge-building technique once, so the timing is right). I then have time to wait for Nobu's buff against divine opponents to recharge completely, so I can use it with another NP (sometimes at 200% charge) and the mystique code's attack buff. It's generally enough to get the boss low enough to beat her after Nobu dies to her second NP (the invulnerabilities haven't recharged yet, unless one of my frontline characters dies and Mash comes up).
I did notice the axe, yeah. Didn't recognize the significance of their being Four King (don't know the lore enough), but I assumed it had to be some kind of reference.
Near-dead minibosses is actually a pretty good call, if you can swing it, because it limits Raikou's actions. Smart! Might try that myself...
Yeah, Kintoki references it in the storyline, but Minamoto-no-Raikou had four famous generals, one of whom was Kintoki. Raikou was also part of several famous legends, including the one about Shuten-Douji and Mt. Ooe, thus explaining the Rashomon event.
Part of me wonders if, if you have Kintoki (Berserker, not Rider), they would change that sprite. I kinda hope they would, it would be awesome. Other games do that - if you have a specific character in your party, a related character's special attack changes to include that character.
Also, I have to say, this banner has been pretty good to me. On my only SQ-pull, I got Ibaraki and d'Eon. And last night, on a ticket pull, I got Nightingale, officially my second 5-star. Weak ATK for a Berserker, but highest HP, and she occupies a pretty useful niche. Kinda stoked. Pretty much guarantees that my luck will be crap on the summer banner, though.
I can finish off the 1 million boss 100% of the time, but the 3 million one is a bit beyond me. I can do more damage per BP, but I also get fewer drops.
I did get my last Golden Bear Lighter though, that's something.
...It feels weird to hear people having trouble with the 3mil. If anyone wants to borrow my lv80 Nobu with 5-4-8 skills and MLB Golden Sumo I'll put my friend code up. I also have a Drake at lv72 with an MLB hot springs - her skills are only 5-4-2 though. Not very good.
If your Nobu is not quite up to the task, I definitely suggest using somebody else's maxed out Nobu and bringing your own support team instead. Consider something like Hans+Ushi for double attack buffs. Put Mash in the backline and swap her in to keep your main carry alive when the first NP goes off, and then have one more backup person to buff your friend Nobu or deal a little damage themselves. Even if you don't finish off Ushi Gozen, you should be able to kill everything else for their drops and do more than a million damage no problem. It's entirely possible for Nobunaga with buffs from two other characters to do 3 million damage in a single turn.
That is because that is exactly what she is actually doing. Raid bosses get a bit more beefed up with their strategies and Ushi Gozen WILL charge NP a turn before its supposed to happen if your party will be vulnerable to it.
So don't plan on her 'maybe' using her charge skill, she is going to, so plan accordingly. Its honestly simpler if you just remove the last two bars of gauge and assume its more like that long as opposed to how long it really is.
And for those without a super beefed up Nobu, you really don't need one. Even a moderately beefy Nobu will rain hell down upon Ushi Gozen and you can usually get by with just a friend one. Just remember that Nobu has a NP skill and you should MLB your Golden Sumo and put it on her, which means she'll start with 50% NP Gauge.
Also, if you have Nobu's third skill leveled, her firing huge crits on arts cards is easily doable with just a few crit stars. And the Hot Springs CEs provide crit stars every turn. Between that and my Hans it's pretty easy to get Nobu to crit on every other card, sometimes more often. Not that she needs the NP gauge with the borrowed Waver I'm using, but for people having trouble charging her NP that could help. Also the damage numbers on her buster crits can get silly if you have some buffs running.
Using a Raikou and a Friend Kintoki, the sprite doesn't change. Don't have a Kintoki of my own to see if that works.
Raid-wise I can handle the 3M boss without any beans, but haven't tried the 6M yet.
I have Raikou, Emiya and Friend Kintoki for max damage, then David, Benkei and Mash backlining. I can't let the crystals hang around, because they crunch my berserkers, but Emiya and/or Raikou can take them out with an NP early. And if Kintoki can land his stun, then I can keep him and Emiya alive past the first enemy NP to keep dealing massive damage (otherwise it's just one of them, since I can't risk losing both and don't have enough evasion to keep them safe two turns in a row). Then my backline slowly filters in to keep my survivor/s alive.
David wound up on the team accidentally, but his skills are actually pretty useful, so now he's staying.
Nightingale has been pretty good to me so far. I find using her NP effectively to be tricky, but honestly it's just a bonus when it lines up.
I'm saving my tickets (and hopefully my luck, if I have any left) for another banner. I'd probably just get more CEs and at this point that seems wasteful.
I have to check if Shuten skill sealed her or not, cause her debuff bar is way too small. Also I had this one odd time that she wasn't soill sealed and she used her last action to charge instead of her fistf. It was odd. I must have also activated other parts of the AI on the same turn.
