My childhood was ruined by exploding flapjacks.
Not only their mouths. The picture in the spoiler shows another possibility. This one from the Freiburg Minster aims directly at a house of, as the legend goes, an annoying citicen who was hindering the work on the minster. Today the recidence of the local bishop is at the same place.
(warning: somewhat crude humor, 1330 style)
IDEA! =D
Gargoyles have all sorts of shapes, right? Maybe the gargoyle codex lets you shapeshift and make your body into stone when you do! =D
EDIT: Can Ketham dress up as Roy Marshall for Halloween? =3
Ben Hewitt used Protect!
William Adams used Hydro Pump!
Ben Hewitt protected itself!
------
Ben Hewitt used Mirror Move!
Ben Hewitt used Hydro Pump!
It was super-effective!
Enemy William Adams fainted.
Win. XD Have a net.
It'd be cool if spewing water, Waters Of Mars style, was actually a Gargoyle power, though.
Bubonic Codex? Interesting choice.
Stupid commentators. You don't tell everyone that a fighter is a sneaky sumbitch, that ruins the whole element of surprise!
Page 19
New page up! Can't wait to get to the fight.
This...this is going to be good.
I can't wait till the fight:smallbiggrin:
I LOVE Raoul's expression.
...
I...
I'll just say yay...:smallfrown::smallsigh::smalltongue:
Between that sweat drop and her nose, Eve looks like she's got some pretty crazy eyes on this page!
Did you do something different with Ben? He looks good. (Although, do note I only just realized he took off his jacket.)
Good page, Ela.
As always I have only a minor thing to note since everybody already said everything else :smalltongue:
The lines on Ben's cheeks keep making me think he is blushing in that last panel.
Which is why I am still laughing as I type this
Oh Charlie of Zero Union, master of aerial combat. If only anybody else in this fight could fly, that might mean something for you :P
Charlie: Come on up here! I'll fly circles around ya!
Garnie: I can't fly.
Charlie: What are ya, chicken? Take to da skies already!
Garnie: I can't fly
Fight's coming up :D oh boy oh boy oh boy.
I wanna knoooooow what Scorpio is >.>
p.s. good page I am sorry if this sounded mean :(
... And now Charlie will get his wings handed to him by Eve. :smallsigh:
That does mean something alright. It gives him a way to stay out of reach of enemies (well, except for the ranged attacks), and to keep all enemies in his field of vision by doing so. A good way to get away from the melee to breath a little and plan the next move. A good way also to dive upon a distracted enemy's back, inflict some damage, and swiftly fly back up to avoid retaliation.
I'm not denying that flying is mad useful when everyone else you're fighting can't fly. If all else, if this is an all-out melee (where the winner is the last one standing), it means he can just hover above the fight and pick and choose targets as they come, pretty much without fear of reprisal.
I understood "aerial combat" to mean "dogfighting" when I first read this, and a plane can't really dogfight with a tank, no matter how good the plane is :P It turns out that's wrong though! and the definition is basically "somebody is flying and fighting while they're flying," so.
IN CONCLUSION Charlie's pretty great (but is he as great as Opal? jury's still out) and assuming nobody catches him and smashes his wings up, his flying could certainly be useful.
Look, up behind Raoul
It's a Snark!
It's a Comment!
No, it's SARCASM MAN!
The shading in the next-to-last panel makes it look like Eve got a bit of a Panty Shot. I'm not complaining.
I didn't, but I do now. X//D
I love sarcasm-man's face in that last panel. It is made of win.
Does Ben have any pre-stored spells, or will he have to load up during the fight?
Also, if there are page gangs, are there any masked vigilante groups wielding whitebox weapons?
I would think that whitebox weapons have more regulations around them than the codexes. Since its easier to take away a sword/book/cape/whatever than taking away werewolf or gargoyle, they'd be a rarity. I still wouldn't be surprised to see a few renegades though.
