When you're a commoner, there's not much difference between the two.

I have an amazing PbP group on the forum. If they're up to it then once our current campaign is done I might raise the possibility of playing this revolution. Of course I'll share it with you all. And it'll come up if it's important to the story. And I did hint at it--notice how sad the courtesans in the second panel are and the wilted crops in the fifth?

Sounds cool.
Sad courtesans might work, but wilted crops speak towards him being a bad king, but not a bad person.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
So does that make Septim Dynasty as the only successful "touched or Descended from gods" dynasty since most of them are sane enough to not perform inbreeding, except for Half Elf Pelagius Septim who went nuts from Amulet of Sheogorath. Can't find a strip from Dr. Mcninja
Spoiler

about how one chosen family decided to be inbred to keep it but ended up with Mentally challenged heir.

Oh come on. Bronies aren't barbarians.:smalltongue: (I let the horse riding and dragons slide.)

And then he raised taxes even higher to pay for his own hedonism while there was a famine! The situation got so bad that there was a revolution.
Sounds like King Solomon lol.
Good story. This one made me chuckle. :D

Well, I was referring to Dothraki (I called Evil Mirror version of Bronies) since they like horses! And it was a reference to Daenary from Game of Thrones.

Don't have any knowledge of either of those things.:smalltongue:

I know. It ruined the first hour of 2013 for me.
It wouldn't let me switch back to the old Photobucket despite quite clearly stating that I hated the new one.

It doesn't matter what kind of a person you are, once you are a king, you have responsibilities. In all likelihood, they killed him to prevent future rebellions based around "removing the usurpers" and "restoring the rightful king".

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
And even if he somehow lived through the revolution, there would have been a succession crisis and another war once he died--likely at a young age. The king was also sterile. Besides, Elemental's right.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
I don't know if I would call that terrible king "mad". Spoiled and bratty seems more appropriate.
Seriously, he is pretty pathetic compared to Caligula

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
That's because if I went into details, I would likely get into trouble. Besides, the panel where he's throwing a fit (panel 4) is when he's in his teens. The second panel is him as an adult.

Here's what I mean;
In the story of game of thrones and Song of Ice and Fire (spoilered since they are in the books and series),
Spoiler
Show
The story set in time after the royal guards (Lannister, Baratheon, and Starks) overthrew the inbred king from House Targaryen. The only survivors of the coup were Daenary, her brother and Jorah Mormont. They went to the west to find allies in order to reclaim their kingdom; however, their morality is no worse than the backstabbing nobles back home. Reason why I called Dothrakis as Barbarian Bronies are that they are nomadic horse riders and love horses (even eating its heart is part of rites of passage).

I doubt that he can top Tiberius. He had something to cater to his voluptuousness. The relevant sections by Suetonius are rarely translated.

Yeah it is, I need to give myself more motivation! But I'm getting this done, Silverraptor, even if we're the only readers left, though I know that's not happening. :smalltongue: And just to show, new comic!

There are many times where "seriously, what could possibly go wrong?" is said, and nothing bad happens. :amused: It's just that everyone remembers more fondly when it DOES go wrong.

Fond is perhaps the wrong word.
And I take it the red hair is taken as a sign of their royal line being blessed by Salblaze when it's more likely just a genetic coincidence?
In that case, all the Ashblades need to do is marry red headed women. Preferably red headed women who like to dye their hair other colours.

In the Dresden Files campaign I'm playing in there's a character who has that as his "Trouble" aspect - meaning that the GM can get you into trouble by saying that and "force" you to an action as long as he gives you a Fate Point.
Mine is "Fortune favors the bold."

You're exactly right, and I wanted to touch on a morally grey area while letting you fill in the gaps and draw your own conclusions. And the problem is that there are only so many red-headed nobles. The Ashblades aren't inbreeding, but that doesn't mean they can shack up with commoners either.

Well, if whatever she does causes something to go wrong with Riley's reign, then you don't need to worry about which is worse! :smalltongue:
I'm not entirely sure what that thing is, actually. My first guess was a bird, but it looks kind of like it might be something that isn't a bird.
