Technically, they can marry commoners. I'm not sure how this works in Laria, but it shouldn't be too hard to elevate a common family to nobility for "services to the kingdom" or "feats of great valour" or "just being generally awesome and nice to everybody".
They just need to do it a lot, make sure those families have a proclivity for red hair and no one will notice anything for a while. Then when the Ashblades have introduces a constitution and a parliament in one or two centuries no one will care very much about tracing the lineage of every single queen since the beginning of the Ashblade dynasty.
Or find a kindly copper dragon to marry into their family...

How many of the fans have played Crusader Kings 2? This is a lesson to those who wanted to make their bloodline look like the ones from Deliverance.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
No, but Serrin's going to fix that. She's the mad scientist wizard.

I hope she brought out death mask of angel spacemarine and their (Yuck!) Armor (Sanguinary Guard reference).

Lucrid and Saphrin did it. Although that was just a regular noble family and no "Becoming King" situation to deal with.

Also, Lucrid was an arcane spellcaster, he saved Saphrin, and he didn't have an easy time winning over the Peakane family at first.

Well, true. There's all of those reasons, if you want to get technical about this sort of thing.:smalltongue:

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
I like :D the pokemon stories too :D
Also, the "nothing could possibly go wrong" trope is already kinda played out by the Giant. You sure you wanna play that card? XD

Personally I fancy to think of Coffee as a bit like Agatha Heterodyne on coffee.

Not saying they weren't. Despite not playing the game, I'm tempted to read some myself...

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Wait... Coffee? I started reading Alphabet Soup after that link to your fanfics got posted, and...
In chapter 27. You said Brycen was an actor. But wasn't that written a while before BW2 came out? How did you know? (Or was it mentioned somewhere in 1 that I missed?)

Oh, don't worry. What with X and Y, I feel quite well disposed right now.
If Fennekin's final form is fire/fighting I will hunt you down.

Sigh... so I can't make a crossover fanfic in which you used time travel to steal the one secret necessary to complete YOUR Crossover Fanfic?

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Sorry for being so unobservant but I have a question. Why is it a problem if they no longer have red hair? Also, aren't there explanations that could be used in a world with magic for hair of descendants becoming brown for example. A random genetic mutation wouldn't work but claiming a curse did it certainly could couldn't it?

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
I would like to point out that there is a recruitment thread for a murphy's law (which is the preferred) or OOTS (the setting of course, nothing involoving the main stories of the 2) 3.5 game http://www.giantitp.com/forums/showthread.php?t=267814
thought i'd advertise it here since it is relevant to the topic.
