Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
I was reareading the strips again, and I noticed in #3, you can see Matthew running in the background.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
Remember when I said I wouldn't update until Tuesday? I lied!
#93: Ever Heard Of Milgram?

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
Yay, new comic!
From a critical perspective, I see an excellent plot unfolding.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
The second panel is a bit confusing. Did he duck under a javelin on a rope?

Yep. And hit the second target in the same motion.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
So what's the rope tied to? Or does it just latch on to the fabric of reality like Spider-Man's webs when he's swinging across the place?
-
Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
I'm a bit confused. Are we saying that while he was training, the army was busy killing innocents? Or are we saying he was part of the killings?
*edit: Or is it that he didn't help kill plavaan, but he knew it was going on and that it was wrong?

A tall tree branch. Or magic.

Pretty much the first one. Lloyd, Lexington, Alexis, and Miles were in special training.

Ok. I look forward to seeing when he became "Murderer!!"
Great flashback so far. It's dramatic.
*edit: I think thats the first old halfling I've ever seen, anywhere, so kudos on that too. :smallwink:

The fact that Lloyd mentioned his potential to become a Paladin General really jumped out at me, because Lloyd is exactly the kind of person to mention that kind of thing in that kind of way. Kinda.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
The rope is tied to magic.
...
Welp, can't nitpick that one.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
Well, this looks like the same problem as Kore might be coming up.
For anybody that doesn't know Kore is a Paladin in the comic goblins and while we've only heard that he's a Paladin from word of mouth, he does things no Paladin can without falling but retains his Paladin status.
He could just be an atheist cleric but I don't know. He hasn't really been explained yet.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
Is the kid from panels 1 and 2 also in panel 5?

What race is lexington? He has the orc-type tusk thing, but he's not green.

Lexington gets this question all the time. Lexington?
Lexington: I'm a snaggle-toothed half-elf.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
A really great strip, Coffee!
And at the same time, one that makes me dread seeing what happens next, to bring home to Lloyd that what they're doing is wrong.
I very much like the fact that no one in the army seems obviously evil (EDIT: okay, except the bald guy with the evil eyebrows, the sadistic smile, and the distaste for books...) It would have been easy to portray the two generals, or the officer corps in general, as sinister, forboding figures. Instead, they look like really nice people. Presumably they are...
One of the hardest things to learn about evil is that it is often done by good people. And it's vital to know that, because it means that even if you like, respect, and trust a person, and know that they have a good heart, you still have to decide for yourself whether the things they do are right or wrong. And be prepared to stand against people you respect, when they're wrong.
I'm not just talking about comic strips when I say that, of course. So a fine choice of title as well, Coffee. I'm impressed.

Thanks, Mucat. I've been waiting to see what you had to say.
And yeah, the thing about Kago is that they kinda went off the deep end. But when you get right down to it, there's only you and yourself.
I've always been interested in psychology. This was an easy title to decide on.
EDIT: That guy? He's Geoffrey.
EDIT EDIT: This whole story arc will be told in much greater detail in the prequel. You're getting the Cliff Notes version right now. :smalltongue:

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
My professor would be disappointed in me. It took me far too long to get the reference to Milgram.
Anyhow, this flashback is looking good. Lloyd's closing comments in this strip were especially good. I can imagine him putting a lot of emotion into his words.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
Great comic. You have written "primped" in the last panel - should that be "pimped"?

No, I'm pretty sure she meant "primped". :smallconfused:

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
It is just awsome the sory is great.
A question that I had all time and now reveal again:
Is this comic named Murphey's Law cause of the Paladin General mentioned in this page or is there an other reason?
-
Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
It's a pun; there are at least two reasons, if I remember correctly.

There exist a rule of thumb/statistics law attribute to a guy named Murphy
Murphy's law as said by Murphy himself:" If there are multiple ways to do something and one of them results in catastrophe* someone will do it that way."
The one everybody think it is (Finagle's law): If something can go wrong, it will.
*Not the right word but I'm too lazy to look the exact quote up.

OK thank you for the info.
Just thought maybe the mentioned Murphy is a reason.
