But because evidently you can vote none: remove none
Keep them all.
3 - Rich is stating what is plainly already in the rules.
6 - This has been superseded by that post full of neutral characters.
7 - While in general I'm open to neat little titbits Rich mentions that aren't directly related to the comic, I think this is a little personal.
6, 7, 9, 11. .
3, 4, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11
Since we've seen it in the comic now, we don't need a Giant quote confirming that Vamp!Durkon can cast spells.
And I'm not a big fan of quotes that just explain why something didn't happen, unless it was a widely supported theory. The quotes about V not having a staff, Malack not being paranoid, and Tarquin not having Trap Sense are answers to specific questions that have been asked by a minority of readers.
I vote to remove none
Yes, if you want all of the quotes to remain in the index, vote none or alternately vote keep all.
The reason is because the quotes are removed based on majority opinion. If only ten people vote and eight want to remove a quote, it will be removed. But if twenty people vote and eight want to remove a quote, it will stay.
So EVEN IF YOU WANT TO KEEP ALL THE QUOTES LISTED, VOTE.
I vote keep all.
There are a few I'm not sure about, but I figure we should err on the side of keeping if we're not sure.
I vote to remove 4, 6, 7 and 11.
None.
It might be different if the search function worked. Heck, I'm tempted to copy out the contents for personal reference. But it seems a simple manner to just reserve more posts at thread start - the MITD thread seems to handle it. Then just move 'posts resolved by later comics' into their own section and so on and be done with it. I wouldn't be surprised that those could be referenced in discussions about how much planning vs. reaction Rich does.
Personally, I can't wait for the day a new post in the thread again indicates a new Giant post and not just some chatter about posts' worthiness of being recorded.
I'm changing my vote to NONE.
No one here needs convincing on this matter. There are already plans in motion for the new thread, extra posts at the start being a part of those plans. The index will also be much more searchable, thanks to having more tables and fewer spoiler tags. If you want an idea of how it will look, see Jasdoif's post a few pages back (I'll be doing something similar, but modified).
We are getting the voting, tedious as it is, out of the way NOW in THIS thread, so that we can start somewhat fresh in the new thread.
Remove 3 and 4, keep the rest.
I vote KEEP ALL
Respectfully,
Brian P.
I'm changing my vote to None, Keep Everything. No one who isn't interested in the minutia of the strip reads through the whole index, and anyone who is interested in everything OOTS-related won't mind reading through 11 more quotes. There's really no reason to remove any of them, IMO.
I vote1, 9, 10, 11.The rest, although on the OotS forum, don't seem particularly OotS applicable or telling as to the Giant's storytelling. 10 and 11 only make the list because of the Black Dragon storyline.
Edit: proper voting two posts down.
Hmm. Modified how? Seeing as I'm not a doctoral student of any stripe, it might be easier for me to find time to rework them then for you :smalltongue:
Since we're voting for the posts to remove, not the ones to keep, I assume you actually meant to vote for 2 through 8?
I vote to remove none of the listed posts.
I vote to remove none. As mentioned, the lack of a working search function makes this a great resource, and I see little reason not to catalog everything.
Mostly reorganization stuff... I should be able to handle it. However, on a different note, if anyone knows how to insert padding around the text in table code (so the text isn't squished up against the divider line) that info would be most useful.
I'll let you know if I need any further assistance though... thanks for making the tables. Now I just mostly have to move stuff around.
Remove 7 and keep the rest
I'd say remove 7 and keep the rest.
Keep all.
..........
Remove 7, keep the rest.
Voting for remove 7, keep the rest.
Keep all of them
I vote for keeping all, remove none.
Can I say that I disagree here. Listing books, movies, TV shows that have influenced his writing, maybe been deliberately referenced, is certainly relevant. Stating that he hasn't read a particular author, and has not been influenced is part of this.
