Seekers are all over the known world studying people, cultures, natural events, and so on. If you'd like to take the role of a seeker studying your nation this is a good excuse to write some fluff :smallwink:
It does sound very interesting... However, I have no idea how to roleplay a Genivanan. Very little is given on their culture, so a few pointers as to how they would write letters would be handy.

Also, Grand Coalition! I retracted my request to join. You'll probably declare war, but the majority of you are busy somewhere else, and to retreat from the HW will give C'nor an opportunity to generate a massive army, voiding future attempts at acquiring bloodfire. I have a huge population, meaning that if I form militia, I'll have 12000 men + whatever I churn out that turn. :smallamused:
I really am like a super-villain. Cool.
I'm pretty sure there's a rule on the Evil Overload List saying that this is a very bad idea.

This game is so complicated with the withdrawing of actions. But, that models political waffling and posturing pretty well.

Wow, if we were actually thinking of attacking the Heartwaste them perhaps your defiance could mean something. Alas, you have only given us war, and made me happy, for your heresy is what kept me from supporting you in the coalition, and now I can cleanse your madness from the earth. So be it, for I will bring fire.
I love the contrast of LoF and not. But I do support this.

OOOOH. I think I'll participate in the Codex. In fact, that seems like something Guilder would do anyway...

Since everyone is doing lexicons, I present:
In GRAND gilt text, embossed on the finest of imported leather, and covering the most delicate pages, sits the Guilder Codexicon, a big book with a lot of words that the faculty of the Technical Institute for Brilliant Minds is calling a "dictionary." Here we find some of the most brilliant entries:
Sea: Something to use to get money.
Desert: Something to use to get money.
Swamp: Something to use to get money.
Forest: Something to use to get money.
Tundra: Something to use to get money.
Volcano: Something to use to get money.
Mountain: Something to use to get money.
Are they obsessed? Yes. Single-minded and greedy? Yes. Are they good at their jobs? You better effing believe it, son. Now how about trading me that open jaw for some lumber?
So the Guilder dictionary is just this song?

I'm writing up a chunk of the revelation right now, so that might give an idea for a start. In general Genivanans are friendly and open with each other. They are reverent but usually very direct. But really, they're people and this religion is new. Some of the seekers might not even fully understand what they are doing. They've traveled across the world to study new places because of a dream their king had 10 years ago. Others had the dream and those who saw it have a certain authority about them that just makes you want to believe it.
So now they're Seekers, the followers of Radurja or Seekers of Knowledge. You can play up the Seekers how you like, some may have stronger faith than others, but they'd all have the same sense of purpose.
Really though, I'm just sorta winging this. I might even be overreaching tbh, but I'm gonna try. I need to write more :smalltongue:

And now I want to use a future great project to compile a dictionary... Public roads and widespread irrigation be damned, people need standardised spelling!
Also, a brief lapse into In Character:
Merchants are an important part of any society. Their continual search for unending profit provides a healthy base of taxable income that those of us ordained to rule can channel towards projects for the betterment of all.
Let us hope however that they never end up in charge of anything important...

Sorry I missed this, I had figured most the Seekers would be Genivanan citizens, but since we had discussed the exportation of Radurja to Celero previously that should be fine.
Also, yes those who have received a revelation are still known as Witnesses.
Edit: i before e except after c... or if it's German.

In which case, you pronounce the second vowel.
But this is relevant.

Re: EMPIRE! A Community World-Building Tale of People & Discovery
Spoiler: Alorenic Lexicon

Desert: Not enough grass here for the goats to eat. Stay away.
Swamp: Water not good enough for goats to drink. Stay away.
Forest: Tiny lizard people eat your goats. Stay away.
Tundra: Too cold for most goats. Stay away.
Volcano: Not good for goats (except fried goats). Stay away.
Mountain: Goats love to climb. Enjoy a few walks here.
Seaside Cliffs: Our toughest, strongest goats live outside of the towns here. Stay away.

Re: EMPIRE! A Community World-Building Tale of People & Discovery
I'd firstly like to say that I made several errors. :smallannoyed:
First: the only reason that I screwed with the GC was because they were killing the heartwaste for no apparent reason. About 5 seconds after I do this, I find out that they withdrew :smallannoyed:.
It's like the Egypt-Shoshone conflict all over again. (CIV 5)
Second, I saw the thread (GC), causing an unfairness.
Third, I do most of my posts directly after getting home from school, and I've been having a bad week.
I think that I'm kind of a nuisance, so I resign. Pretend that the IC post never existed. This was fun while it lasted, but I must say farewell.

Sorry, I'm not sure if you would still read this thread but please consider that the GC's thread is for private correspondence between the members of the GC and not general knowledge between all of the regions of the Empire! game. Would you mind removing the information from their thread from your post here?
I hope you have a good day.

Re: EMPIRE! A Community World-Building Tale of People & Discovery
Wait, what private information is there? 'S pretty public that they were invading me, and then stopped. :smallconfused:

This is true. His post however is implying plans by the GC against someone, be it him or another person which is unfair. Since he implies he found this information in the thread that means it hasn't been put here...
Sorry, I should've PM'd Moossabi himself. I'll do that if it stays as-is. :smalleek:
Also, thank you for your in PM correction of one of my sentences! I didn't want to thank you in PM because it would just clutter your inbox space.
EDIT - typo

Re: EMPIRE! A Community World-Building Tale of People & Discovery
I may be missing them because of the fact that I have some independent conclusions on the GC that seem to be pretty accurate thus far, and match up with his.
As for the correction, you're welcome! Mind looking over my IC post to make sure it makes sense fluff-wise, and that I'm understanding the actions correctly, since it seems like you're pretty knowledgeable on Faith and Curiosity actions?

And thank you again. I appreciate it~

Y'know... Treasure can be had, that's true! But I could just lease the land to a dwarf who will mine it, and get automatic shares of that... So treasure! But someone else's labor.
Also, I just want to point this out: The Lexicon thing is now, really and truly, an EMPIRE meme. Let that sink in. We're so connected now there are memes.
Y'all blow my mind.
-
Re: EMPIRE! A Community World-Building Tale of People & Discovery
Hey, speaking of treasure... You want to buy some mining rights to Wyrm's Pit?

We... Are? Memes are a sign of this? :smallconfused: The more you know...
It's a shame the lexicon wouldn't work with current region 17. It would work with future region 17 though. I don't want to reveal these plans yet though just in case anyone was interested in watching region 17 progress without necessarily knowing the goals.

Maybe Bloodfire and metals for stone?

Sure. I can do it this round and get +1 Diplomacy instead of Faith. So is that Heartwaste Bloodfire for Tekorva Stone? Or did you want to trade do Heartwaste Bloodfire for Tekorva stone and Heartwaste metals for Tekorva stone?

Hm... Well, depends, will I get two units of stone for doing both?
