Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
What are you taking?
I hope it includes Cute and Cuddly 101.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Animal cell biology. And genetics, and organic chemistry, and oral communication. I'm taking all the sciences from now on.

Good luck!

Well, if you need any help... my PM box is open.

True enough. I took the general mood to be humor, anyway.

I hope you have the recommended prerequisite for Orgo. That class is notoriously difficult.

Yeah, but I'm handling it really well; I took it last semester too.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?

-
Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?

SN2, because E2 doesn't interfere as much as E1 does in the SN1 reaction.

My favorite too, although more because SN2 doesn't screw up the chirality.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Ooof, more org with a genetics and a cell biology class? That's a load of lab work!
On the comic, she totally should have called the backpack Orion! Heh.

I doubt it would even hold itself when exposed to the sun.
It would be called Icarus.:smallamused:

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
I'm more wondering where she got the materials. Though I guess she took Craft Wondrous Item as a bonus feat?

What materials would be needed? If it worked, it would basically be metal plus magic. Since it didn't, it's just metal, maybe with failed magic, maybe shaped (poorly). Either way, metal can't be too hard to get.
Actually, was it going to use magic or metal funnels to direct the flame? And wouldn't it work better, theoretically, with any Explosive spell instead of any Fire one? Most fire-Evocations don't actually produce any concussive force.

No no! Orion was an experimental rocket motor. Basically, a heavily reinforced chamber where you drop nuclear bombs in a stead progression. The focused nuclear blast propels you into space.

That is an extremely terrible and dangerous idea.
I like it.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
And one Serrin would be so eager to try.

I know she will, but that won't make me feel any better when she does.:smallsigh:

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Well, you can build a jetpack from a machine gun.
And there is now a thread at SJG forums where we are merrily discussing Orion engines and Explosive Fireballs (that would be the GURPS version).

I tried not to explode with sheer fanboyjoy when I read that article for the first time.
I failed both then and now.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Yeah...don't show that one to Serrin either. Just don't. She'll try to replicate it with magic missile wands and...yeah. Not a good idea.
Anyway, working on the comic; I plan to have it up this weekend. The dialogue's going to be a bit tricky for this one; I hope I can pull it off right.

Well, then. If I ever have a humorous campaign, I know what session one will be.

I don't think Magic Missiles have significant recoil.

As much as fireball doesnt have knockback as it makes no pressure.
Unless you use exploding spell metamagic.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
You need something that shoots a solid object. Something with mass.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Create water? It creates a gallon/cl or something like that.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Mystic Theurge levels + Create Water + Machine = ?
