Poor, poor Patchouli.

And she not only know it, but she knows who is responsible. Just look at how she is gazing at the player. Or maybe she's just grumpy that someone made a hoofed version of her.
So I had this dream last night that I was playing SWR, but the computer was cheating so that I could never beat it. So I moved over to IN, but the computer was cheating there too. I was sad.
So I googled to see if anyone else was having the same problem and knew how to fix it, and all google would give me was fan made star wars lightsaber fights, nothing Touhou related at all. First result for "Touhou" was "yoda".
I woke up shortly after, very upset. :smallfrown:
Not to change the subject or anything, but what's everyone's favourite menu theme? :smalltongue:
BQ: Have you ever opened up a game just to go to the Music Room and let a song loop while you did other things on your computer?
I'm fond of A Dream Transcending Space-Time from Phantasmagoria of Dimensional Dream and PoFV's title theme Higan Retour, but I have not let a song loop while doing something else.
Nah, no song looping for me; I'll go listen to remixes. Like this playlist!
Yeah, I'm sure we can all name some good remixes. As far as my favourite original menu theme though... I don't know, I'm gonna say PCB, all of the fighting game ones (there was a little spark of magic when I first heard that steam whistle in Hisoutensoku), MoF (I loved the dripping and stirring water sounds), the one from Shoot the Bullet, and maybe UFO's.
I've certainly made a little use of the Music Room, but I don't think I've actually left a song to loop while doing something else.
Gonna do another random plug:

Does this mean that you're putting those avatars up for people to take? Because if it does I'd totally like to grab a little martial artist, she can kick people whose posts annoy me!
This just in (well, technically a day late, but i just found out about it :smalltongue:):
http://www.plus1coins.com/2011/03/soku-lobby-open-beta/
Hisoutensoku lobby client is now in open beta, might be handy in case a GitP-EU tournament springs up :smallwink:?
On the menu theme, the Soku whistle is pretty epic. I also listened to the IaMP music room a lot whilst working on a campaing setting, ended up with a lot of weird fey.
Those avatars are brilliant. If Patchouli is still available, I'd like to lay claim to her.
I'm actually partial to the Scarlet Weather Rhapsody theme. Again, that might be partly nostalgia, as SWR was my first Touhou game. For a long time, I had it playing on my speakers when I went to bed. Also had "UN Owen Was Her" keyed to the alarm clock, that was a fun start to the morning (and made for some entertaining/disturbing dreams the one time I managed to sleep through the alarm :smalltongue:)
The Hisoutensoku one is pretty brilliant too, and if I ever run a steampunk or Old West campaign I'll probably use it as theme music.
So, next question. I got a Casio for Christmas, and it's gotten me interested in doing some Touhou-style MIDI composing. Anyone know what good tools for that kind of thing are?
So obviously, according to some people on the blog, Soku's Netplay/network was already notoriously poor to begin with.Quote:

Do you have Hamachi? KBF and I got that game to work, you input info in network_config like so:
Drizvolta 'Your Username
10800 'The port of the user you are connetcing to
5.0.154.81 'This is the ip of the person you are connecting to (Put this in even if you are hosting)
5.0.154.81 'Your ip
If I can find that Maidens of the Kalidoscope page for it, I'll link it later.
In conclusion, -Get Hamachi -Input your ip into the "Connect to this ip" part, even if you are hosting.
Yes to these.

Thanks for the Avatar!
Also, Efie, did my advice help you with your Touhou Hack and Slash multiplayer?
Edit: Just to gage interest, who would be interested in a Play-by-post of the Touhou RPG rulebook that prime posted awhile back?
*raises hand*
I'm currently slowly trying to learn Gensokyo fluff enough to not horribly trample all over something, and also churning through a lot of various homebrew rules and fixes that I got from /tg/ after watching their discussions, so it's in line with my 'develop and attempt to run' list.
Do you absolutely have to use Hamachi for this? Because Hamachi doesn't seem to want to work on my computer. I've had the rest of it set up in the config file, but without Hamachi it only gets me a black screen saying "BAD" in the top left, before returning me to the main menu.
Late response, I went to sleep earlier. :smalltongue:
Hamachi just saves you the headache of having to forward ports, so if you know how to do that, then I guess you don't need it.
I'd probably get my behind handed to me on a silver platter, but I'd be all over a GitP-EU Soku tournament. I'm currently working my way up from Easy to Lunatic as I practice Yukari, but I've yet to master any combos besides 5AAA or 623C/B into (Charming) Quad Barrier. I don't suppose there happen to be any European Yukari players here? :smalltongue:
Also, I notice there are... three posters on this page without a Touhou avatar. Three of Prime's EoSD avatars are unclaimed. Hmm... :smallamused:
