Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 3: Mystery Solved!
Now, we know Smitty would make a terrible tabletop roleplayer. Through no fault of his own.
"Okay, I roll an untrained Diplomacy check. *rolls rolls*"
"... the tables tell me the MacGuffin falls off the sky right into your lap. Your questgiver is rejoiced. Then, the BBEG's head also drops from an owl's claws who made an unbelievably good attack roll against him earlier. The world is not going to end, and the elemental planes can be restored."
"Is Diplomacy really supposed to do that?"
"What the hell, I wrote those tables myself, I don't remember such a result. You ruined the whole campaign, Smitty! And we only started 5 minutes ago!"
"But I just wanted to convince the questgiver to personally lead us to the first dungeon..."
"I'm going to add you to my blacklist along with Boxbot, Smitty, sorry."

I would think his tabletop roleplaying would stop at character creation. "Smitty, your ranger is Level 1, right? Why does he have 18 for all of his attributes?"

Something like that would disrupt the synergy of the party, though. In all likelihood, all of the players will be playing high-stat character

I know if I was rolling up a character at his table I'd consider letting him roll my stats for me too. :smalltongue:

I don't think he'd have to. His very presence at the table should be enough.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 3: Mystery Solved!
As far as Smitty as concerned there can only be point buy and tables with negative and less negative results.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 3: Mystery Solved!
So far Smitty's on top of things. Even matchmaking. And explaining to an octopus what he's doing wrong, floating in air. I wonder what starts the stampede...
I also wonder where that fairy got her accent. Red and Blue don't talk like that. :smallconfused:

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 3: Mystery Solved!
While I know it ends up in fleeing, I can't help but marvel at how amazing Smitty is.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 3: Mystery Solved!
Groo? Bears do not go "groo."

Maybe that's just the only way humans can comprehend Grues and they're called Grues because it's onomatopoeic for the noise they make when not eating adventurers?
Wait a minute... Smitty just helped a GRUE!? Oh noes! :smalleek:

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 3: Mystery Solved!
Even a cobra takes fright and slithers out of the way at what's coming. Oh, this is gonna be good!

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 3: Mystery Solved!
I'm not sure why I thought we would actually get to see what happened here. I'm not usually that naive about this comic.:smallsigh::smallwink:

So did Tom, apparently.

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 3: Mystery Solved!
Well, <BLEEP>!! *I* would be running, too!
And Smitty said he hadn't seen wild animals before...
(Why's Parley running? She could 'blip' them all back into the Court in a second. I suspect, in her shock, she isn't thinking...)
-
Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 3: Mystery Solved!
The ominous foreshadowing is palpable. :smalleek:
YAY! Sidecomic of Annie's time in the Forest, SOON!
-
Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 3: Mystery Solved!
I note, with considerable amusement and awe, that folks on 4Chan's /co - Comics and Cartoons page are going insane and bouncing off the walls with this revelation. They've been aggressively shipping Annie and Kat all along, and now they've got a new lesbian couple to root for.
"IT'S THE WATER BUCKET I KNEW IT" is a MARVELOUS comment.
And of course the haters gotta hate...

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 3: Mystery Solved!
Calling it now, she's going to confront Paz about sending the love letter and Paz is going to be all "What letter? I told you I'm not like that! Please Katerina, I am not interested!:smalleek: I don't want a love letter." And then Kat will be sad because she was hoping it was Paz.:smallamused:

Indeed, it is fairly clear who sent it.

You realize this is Gunnerkrigg Court we're talking about, right? What are you talking about "clear" for?

Re: Gunnerkrigg Court 3: Mystery Solved!
I actually thinking its the bird she brought to Paz to be cared for. As previously established, Kat has a thing for birds. The robot just helped write it.
