Alicia
Alicia looks on into the room as the group begins their interaction with the doctor. Seeing that Ralix is attentive and tense and ready to leap should the doctor try anything Alicia calms down slightly. She takes a deep breath and sits to the side outside the rooms door. There she sets up a small shrine where she lights a set of candles and closing her eyes begins to pray and set her mind right about the days labor. She quietly hums a litany but keeps her ears open for other noises.

Ralix
"Glory of the...?" Ralix mutters to himself, trying to remember where he'd heard that name before. Then he remembers. But before he can react, he is interrupted by Alicia's beautiful but very, very loud singing. After a few seconds of confusion, he returns his attention to the doctor.
"Hold on, Doc..." Ralix growls, narrowing his eyes at the old man. "Before you start slicing and dicing on my friend, lets get a few things out of the way first. You seem to know a lot about the Tyranids, and your taste in art is... interesting. So what's your story? Where do your loyalties lie, exactly?"
Ralix and Ravion:
"My Loyalties? That's a Peculiar question- if I was with them, You'd be dead already, don't you think? I am just here to help- now if only someone could help me with the formula for the Stone- Vulcan, Venus and Mars must work together..." He rambles on.
"Now, are you going to wait outside- or do you want to watch?" He says, smiling politely- and advancing towards the assassin.
"This isn't for the faint of heart..." He starts "But I do an elixir that does wonders to the ailing stomach- you can find some in the kitchen." He finishes, standing above Ravion's leg- scalpel in one hand, the bag in the other.

"Actually, Doc, I've got plenty of medical training. Maybe I can help, or perhaps you can teach me a thing or two. For example... What are you intending to do with that scalpel?" the Adept arches an eyebrow. This wasn't boding well for him...

Ravion and Ralix:
The doctor reaches into the bag for some sterilizer and wipes the scalpel with it.
"Hold him, would you? This is going to hurt." He says.
"Your friend is rather Peculiar- we'll have to do this the Old fashion way. First, We'll open up the wound to see exactly what's in there: were going to need need to cut across... right about there...." He continues, before slowly moving the the blade right up to* the assassin's leg...
Noticing his rather peculiar behavior, Horst steps outside for a moment and pulls out his psy tracker.

"Yeah, he's quite Peculiar, alright..." Ralix smirks, deciding that the man seems to know what's he's doing. "Though I don't see what that has to do with- You know what, nevermind..." Ralix suddenly interrupts himself, shrugging in a flippant manner. "Lets just get this over with before he sprouts tentacles or something," he says with a grin, walking over to hold down Ravion.
That had been close. Ralix had mentally put 2 and 2 together just before he said too much. The comment about Ravion, having to work the "Old Fashioned" way, his strange knowledge of heretic matters... More than likely, he was a Psyker. But considering that he was about to be digging around near Ravion's femural artery, Ralix didn't need to give him a reason to get careless with the scalpel. Still, it was likely that the old man would be suspicious now...

I want to know how Ravion might have been infected. I don't think he got too close to Genestealer... Perhaps his "personal" experience with the Patriarch could have left him tainted? :smallconfused:
Ralix is oblivious.
Ravion and Ralix:
With the knife hovering less then an inch over Ravion's skin, the man stops- and as if you read his mind:
"Wait... were you bitten- or just scratched?" He says, not to anyone in particular.
"Um, well to my knowledge he didn't get bit by a Genestealer..." Ralix shrugs. "He did get his ass kicked by the Patriarch, though. Of course, you should have seen what he did to it..."
Ravion and Ralix
"Good- Let's get started then..." He says, and without further delay, brings the knife down into the wound- opening it further.
Lowering his head, and rummages inside the assassin's leg- as if looking for something. Blood is everywhere- and without anesthetic, the pain must be horrendous.
SpoilerAs I am not a doctor, I can't begin to describe neither the procedure, or the work that the good doctor is currently doing- I can only imagine it to be rather bloody, and painful.
Here's his medicae test- [roll0]
Ralix- your a doctor, the sight of blood at this point doesn't really bother you, same for Ravion. On the other hand, roll a toughness test Ravion to see if your handling this well or not!
Ravion and Ralix-
While at first it seems as if the Doctor is disturbed by Ravion's "State of being", he quickly takes control of himself and proceeds to perform a flawless surgery: It is as if the Emperor himself had worked trough the Doctor's hands...
He then proceeds to wrap up Ravion's leg, leaving it, and the rest of the Assassin, birtually good as new.... Or at least, with the promise that he will be once the pain dulls.
"Now- whose next?" He says, wiping his brow and holding the bloody scalpel.
SpoilerRavion regains 16 Hp... which is more or less enough to full him back up completely. On the other hand- the Operation takes quite a bit out of you, and you gain 2 fatigue.
Ralix watches the operation like a surgically-inclined hawk. Once the doctor is done and he's sure Ravion will be alright, Ralix pats the assassin on the shoulder. "You alright, buddy? You look better, that's for sure..." he smirks, before turning his attention to the old man.
"Thanks Doc. I gotta wonder, though. Why are you helping us?" he narrows his eyes. "Why are you risking your life to help us, and for nothing in return?"
Ralix & Ravion:
"I have been in Biltem a very long time you know. Its would have been a nice town-" He starts.. "It should have been a nice town-" He continues... "It couldn't have been a nice town..." He finishes, as he raises his hand to his forehead, pondering something.
"There's always risk- but I have been dealing with it for years now: this was about as much as I could do." He carries on. "Looking over those who haven't been infected- Keeping an eye on things... Everything was fine Until a few days ago- that's when things really got dangerous." The doctor says, wiping his hands on a towel. He takes the case and places it on his desk.
"Even Old Averill is dead- It can't be too long before they come for me too now... But you have fought them- these wounds are infections- but battle scars. And better yet, you have survived- Perhaps there's a chance you'll be able to save us after all."
"Their Patriarch is dead," Ralix smirks. "My team killed it themselves. We've stopped them from summoning the Hive Fleet, if my calculations are correct."
He waits to see the old man's reaction to this news before he asks any further questions. He knows this man may hold many key answers to some of his most burning questions, and he doesn't want to risk blowing the investigation.
Ravion and Ralix:
"You have dealt a terrible blow to their dominion over this planet- that much is certain..." He says, smirking. "But the Patriarch is not the source; no: The Matriarch is. She is responsible for the birthing of the creatures- at least, the Elder of the brood... I can tell, just by looking at your face that you met one of the two already..."
Ralix stares at the man in disbelief. "M-ma-Matriarch?" he stammers. "What do you mean Matriarch? I thought there was just one of the "Big" Tyranids. I mean, I know they have a Broodlord too, but its not important to the Hive Fleet summoning to my knowledge. Is that the Elder you're referring to? Yes... We met that one just a little while ago..." he shudders.
"Will the Matriarch be able to summon the Hive Fleet, or do you not know enough about them to tell me that? Perhaps you could at least tell me how, or why, the Patriarch seemed to have been corrupted by the Warp?" he asks in a non-accusing tone, hoping to keep the man talking.
Ralix and Ravion:
"No, the Matriarch is incapable of summoning a Hive Fleet- but she is able to spawn... large amounts... of the Genestealers." He explains. "It is her role in the brood, you see. You may have slain the Patriarch and the Magus- but they will be replaced, In-fact: as I said earlier, two candidates for the jobs are already available. There is no way around it: to end the threat, you must slay her." He says, before changing topics.
"I have studied the crystals here for more then a dozen years, and I am not closer to understanding their fickle nature: the warp is dangerous and unpredictable. The Patriarch turned to the crystals out of necessity- but their influence corrupted him, for when the shadow of the tyranids covers an area, only he remains as a beckon to the warp. Here in Biltem the warp is a force to be reckoned it. With the Patriarch and the magus gone, the hive's shadow is no more- and the veil between the worlds is thinner then ever: there's no telling what could happen now."
"Do you know what they'll intend to do now? The hybrid leaders fled to the mansion, I believe, and took two adolescents with them - a teenage lad and a young boy, both of whom are powerful Psykers. You don't happen to know any stealthy ways in there, do ya? Or have any other information you may be willing to share?" Ralix asks the man patiently, despite his growing concern about the whole situation.
"Best sterilize this site from orbit then, when I came in here, I packed enough firepower for a week when I was in the Guard, and now I'm almost dry, certainly not enough to slough something like that again..." Horst quips.
Ralix jumps slightly. "Oh, Horst. When did you come back in?" he asks, slightly shaken by the Guardsman's sudden reappearance. He couldn't help but feel jumpy after the last few days...
Ravion and Ralix:
"They probably went back to get the Matriarch. I would be wary of appearances- though the tyranid presence has suppressed both psyker births and manifestations of power, in a place where for all intents and purposes the warp flows more or less freely: we should expect a considerable rise in their population..." He says.
"There are tunnels underground the city that lead more or less everywhere- if you sneak into the sewer- but be wary of the sentinel that lives down there. If you survive, you can probably find a path that leads to the mansion: but I would have to say, seeing as they were the ones that made it in the first place- that it will be just as secure as the front gate."
"Just taking a brief walk that's all." He replied, narrowing his eyes.
"Do concur with my assement? I have a vox caster, so we might be able to get out of here pretty quick, though something in this town been bugging the machine spirit and haven't been able to get it to work since we got here..."
"I think Ravion killed the Sentinel. Big monster in the sewers, right? Yeah... Ravion seems to have really done some damage to the Tyranid presence here..." Ralix observes.
He then turns to Horst and notes: "Since the immediate threat of them contacting the Hive Fleet has passed, I think we can now spare the time to try and call in for reinforcements. If you wish to try you Vox system, go ahead..."
Returning his attention to the Doctor, Ralix scratches his chin and asks: "So what do they intend to do with the Matriarch? Protect her, or try to transport her somewhere safe? And what of the psyker children... specifically, the young boy? Timmy, I believe his name is..."
Horst tries to get the vox caster working.

"Judging by the amount of damage you group did here, there's nothing left for them in Biltem- Probably not even on the planet. They are likely to protect her until THEY can send for help so they can get out of here...." He answers.
"I am afraid I don't know anything about what they are going to do with the Psykers- so I can't help you there." He finishes.
"Oh. Well. That's refreshing..." Ralix smiles, happy to have some good news for once. "I suppose we really can afford to call in for help, then. Unless... Oh, frak, where's that Rogue Trader bastard?" he growls, remembering that the Genestealer cult had possible access to a starship. "Horst, please get that Vox working ASAP..."
"Now... Good Doctor..." Ralix turns to face the old man, his expression somber. "You have done a great deal to help us, but there is a question which is my duty and responsibility to ask. You seem to know a great deal about the power of the Warp here in Biltem. You also noticed Ravion's "peculiar" nature, and said it you'd have to do the surgery the "old fashioned" way because of it. Please, answer my question honestly. Sir, are you a Psyker, or a follower of the Ruinous Powers?"

"If your asking whether I was born a Psyker- I would say no. If your asking whether I dabbled in the warp- Well, I did what I had to do." He smirks slightly, mostly at the second part of your question- there's no real way to answer that one.
