The trilby is replaceable, if I can be bothered. The Snowy River hat I got on the other side of the world, and cost $120 AUD. It is not replaceable, and its loss makes me very sad.
That sucks, man. I don't wear hats (too much hair :smallwink:), but I know how easy it is to misplace something; I lose stuff all the time (although lately, it's been things that I'm supposed to do that I forget, and not actual objects).

Wet. Rain.
It's supposed to be summer here, blast it.
On the upside, rainy weather equals good sleepy time.

no, summer has gone in the Netherlands, or are you implying other regions have lots of rain when it's supposed to be summer as well?

Yes, the truth is painful. But it feels so good!

I love shade gardens. I transplanted some hostas and bleeding hearts to a shady patch in my garden at the end of September, and I look forward to their beauty in the spring. I also have some foxglove seeds I'm going to plant in another shady area.
Well, that is often the case with orchids in so many lands.
And indeed, even in this climate some orchids would still require special care.
Shady gardens are the best. They always seem to promote cooling breezes. But unfortunately, there's only about three metres of space between the back stairs and the fence line. Though I am jealous of the neighbours' palms, which incidentally provide the aforementioned shade.
As for bleeding heart, I think we have that under the back stairs... My Mum pulled it out because she wanted to get rid of it because it was untidy, and I take cruel satisfaction in knowing that it survived her attempts.
Oh... And I've heard things about foxglove. Do be careful with them.

I know that feeling. The funny thing is, cats only roll onto their backs as a sign of submission, or if they're fat because it's comfortable for them.
Unfortunately, only one of our cats is regularly found on her back. The other is not so friendly.
Umm... I'm going to have to say no to Mabel going any closer to my eyes than my eye brows. You know, for psychological reasons.

See I thought Fur Elise opened with semiquaver triplets for some reason, and checking the sheet music I'm dead wrong -- so you're not the only one who would make a mistake at first.
I look forward to finishing it. Hopefully Inkscape won't kill my computer in the process of it.
But it'll be some time before it's complete.
And I agree, the song certainly has a triplety feel.

I mean that it's raining here, and it's supposed to be summer here - or spring, at least - and we're not supposed to get rain in the summer here.
I live in an area with Mediterranean climate, which means exclusively (supposed to be) winter rainfall. Rain now is just odd.
(I'm not sure why you mentioned the Netherlands. I'm not in the Netherlands. Are you in the Netherlands?)

I agree with you being masochistic, Mr Likes-to-poke-my-sides-and-laugh *glares*
You have camp this weekend don't you? Also, I should be able to come over next week sometime for a few days hopefully.

See, this is one of the things I already have. Also, this was the first year that I've used the down cover through the whole summer. I think it says something about the quality of the latter... :smallwink:

And yes. I have band camp this weekend.

why yes. Although I work (and temporarily live) awfully close to the Dutch/German border. Oh and I mentioned the Netherlands because we had a lot of rain instead of summer weather this year...

Nonsense! I've been on holiday to the Mediterranean most summers of my life and rain was far from rare. Maybe not quite as common as at home, but still not totally infrequent

Again, it's singularly uncommon over here. October rains is, like, weird. Especially since we had such nice beach weather the past two weeks.

Anyone else hear about the new planet they discovered in the Alpha Centauri B system?

Yar~
Sad thing is that is has a supersmall orbit, so even though it's earth sized it won't have nice conditions.
-
Re: Mynxae's Maliciously Magnificent Random Banter #183
Heard of it, but after picking up it was in Alpha Centauri and roughly earth-sized, finding out it's completely uninhabitable seems kind of a letdown. I'm not sure what's uniquely exciting or informative about it. Just the latest thing in astronomy?
-
Re: Mynxae's Maliciously Magnificent Random Banter #183
Damn. And astronomers were hoping there'd be interesting things in that system.
Oh well... There's still Alpha Centauri A and Proxima Centauri.

Re: Mynxae's Maliciously Magnificent Random Banter #183
And also, literally everywhere else in the universe. :smalltongue:
-
Re: Mynxae's Maliciously Magnificent Random Banter #183
Actually the fact that they found it means it's rather likely that there's others (who might be in the habitable zone) since low-mass planets don't tend to occur isolated, so there's still hope.

I know that. But the presence of a planet of Earth mass so close does make me less optimistic.
But then, I only have one model of solar system formation to go on.
-
Re: Mynxae's Maliciously Magnificent Random Banter #183
Also, that planet is too close to its sun to image properly, but the probable earth-like planets further out could become the first rocky extrasolar planets to be imaged.
My astrophysics professor was very excited about it

SHEEPY! From this point onward, every time you misuse the word "literally" (honestly the universe has a bunch of nothing in it), I will eat mutton.

I agree with this.. Could we make him pay for said mutton? It's a little too costly for me. :smalltongue:

Re: Mynxae's Maliciously Magnificent Random Banter #183
Hey! If I'm not allowed to cannibalise Asta, why have folks got free reign to eat Mutant Sheep?
I really think we need some sort of official mod rulling re: cannibalisation of other Playgrounders.
-
Re: Mynxae's Maliciously Magnificent Random Banter #183
Don't worry about it.
It was merely a threat concerning the proper usage of a word.
And besides... Mutant Sheep counts as lamb because he's not an adult yet.
I think... How does this work with anthropomorphic sheep people?
Anyway... I'm going away for the weekend and need to get to bed.
Goodnight everyone!

No, I just meant I'd eat a random sheep. Like I'd threaten to smother a budgie if I was trying to scare/anger Kneen - WHICH I WOULD NEVER EVER DO BECAUSE KNEEN COULD KILL ME I RESPECT KNEEN AND ALL HIS FEATHERED FRIENDS.
Also: do you even go to school, freak-fleece? you keep posting at times when I, a college student, am in class. I mean, I'm posting too, but I say if the professor doesn't want us on the forums, he shouldn't let us have out laptops out.
