[Training Grounds]
Wenomir continues to step back nimbly, shifting his grip on the greatsword, then performs two wide slashes with eye-watering speed, the blade whiffing through the air, trying to counter Shawna's advance and push her back.
[Training Grounds]
Shawna finds her advance stymied by Wenomir's blade, actually stumbling slightly as she maneuvers in an attempt to avoid the slashes, parrying him with one blade of her sword with a mighty clang. "Your skill is impressive."
[Training Grounds]
"I should hope so, after so many years of practice," Wenomir says. As he speaks, he steps forward, shifting his grip again, and tries to push Shawna's blade aside once more, while also bringing her sword very close to her neck in a thrusting motion.
Front Gate
Conrack, the man with a wolf-head, finds Marcus and Cessie. Since he is going about telling people what was at the gate, he tells them: "This man," he says, pointing to the orc, "came by and needs our help."
He allows the orc to explain more, as well, if he wants to.
[Front Gate]
The elemental follows loyally. Despite the blows Marcus landed on her, she doesn't seem truly harmed. Her cries of pain at the time were certainly not faked either, however. Oh well, that mystery will have to stay a mystery for now as they go to the gate.
[Front Gate - A Little Later]
Or at least late enough to be very early in the morning.
Half-leading the way back from their short foray into Inside, Ghoul was on and off pressing a hand against her head as a dull ache came and went. It was like the tides ebbing and surging but never becoming more than a generalized nuisance, at least not for the moment. Whatever Klitcht had done earlier to take away the pain had worked but now it may have worn off... Or this was some new hurt or any combination thereof. If felt like a sore muscle in a way although that was just a guess as the actual sensation wasn't very comparable to what she remembered.
Trying to keep her focus on other things, she inquired: "So.. Enjoy yourself? Maybe not the first pick for having been aware for just four days but I could be wrong."
[Front Gate]
"My tribe is in terrible danger," the orc says, looking at all the people who came in. He's clearly intimidated by the elemental, but tries not to show it. "I've heard that this place contains warriors and sorcerers who help those in need. And without help, we will be destroyed."
Training Grounds
As is routine by now, Boris heads to the firing range to practice with his weapons. At least this time, they all look suppressed, so things won't get too loud.
[Front Gate]
"Think nothing of it. It's simply my duty." The sorceress replies before they arrive at the gate.
She nods to Conrack and then turns to address the visiting orc. "You've come to the right place then. There is plenty of both to aid you here." The sorceress gestures at the watchmembers gathered at the gate. "So what sort of trouble is your tribe having?"
[Front Gate]
"Our sorcerer has gone mad," the orc says. "He has drawn power from somewhere... we don't know where. But he's corrupting everything around him."
[Front Gate]
"I see, I don't think I need more details than that." She turns to the other Watchmembers at the gate. "Do anyone like to volunteer for this mission? I'd go myself but sadly I have duties elsewhere. I will send an elemental to assist with this mission however in case you need my expertise in the eldritch matters." She gestures at the elemental. "Now who volunteers to this mission?"
After being gone for several hours, Darcy returns and looks for Ilpholin.
Front Gate Volunteers
Conrack volunteers.
He even says so: "I'll go, of course." It even sounds a little fun. But he doesn't say so.
Front Gate Volunteers
"Every watchmember can join into a mission. It's our job after all." She explains to Marcus before turning to look at them both. "But it's settled then. You follow this man back to his village and aid them. If you should happen to need any eldritch assistance against this sorcerer ask the elemental, she knows as much as me about the matter. I made her that way." She turns to look at the water elemental, just realizing it didn't really have a name yet. She had to figure something out.
[Front Gate Volunteers]
"Thank you," the orc says, sounding immensely relieved. "I'll lead you to our stronghold when you are ready."
Front Gate Volunteers
"I'm ready right now," says the man-who-may-be-a-wolf.
In fact, he'll probably follow right now.
He even has a short sword, hidden underneath his cape. All set!
Ilphy? Cause Demon Ilpholin isn't here yet. But I think you know that, so Ilphy is in the courtyard tending some flowers. A pair of beautiful, radiant birds have landed on her shoulder and are perched there.
Now the insects just need to start singing and you know you have a Disney movie.
But that doesn't happen. Rather Ilphy looks up when Darcy arrives and smiles wide. "Hi!" The birds flutter a bit, unsure whether to leave at the intrusion of non-nymph or stay perched.
Courtyard
"Ilphy, can we talk?" Darcy asks.
Courtyard
"... Of course..." Ilphy thinks this should be rather normal, couples talking. Therefore something must be wrong or Darcy wouldn't ask like this. It throws a pallor over the whole thing and the birds fly away!
Courtyard
Darcy sits on the ground next to the flowers. "I went to see the other you."
Front Gate Volunteers
Marcus thanks Cessie, then turns to the Orc, I have everything that I can think of, so I am ready as well. Let us be on our way.
Courtyard
"What?! Why?" Ilphy looks surprised mostly. She is reasonably sure other Ilpholin gave up the ability to love and such a visit would end in disaster.
[Front Gate Volunteers]
The elemental nods at Cessie's words. "Of course I will help." She doesn't say anything more right now and is ready to follow.
