A different lesson might be something like accepting yourself for who you are, faults and all, and doing the best you can with what you got, rather than fantasizing about some sort of super version person that you would like to be instead.

I could see a different author going in that direction, but I don't expect Elli is very big on the "accept yourself for who you are and don't change" message.

Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
Oh, OK, thanks.

"Goblins XVIII: gobble gobble gobble"
"Goblins XVIII: Alas, Poor Goblins"
-
Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
i made this one. someone else can do the next one :smalltongue:

"Goblins XVIII: It's Vorpal."

Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
I am guessing that the real lesson that the angel is attempting to teach is to overcome the persecution of those that would insist that your definition for yourself is wrong.

I completely forgot that Forgath got resurrected. I thought he just died.

Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
A quote from the current page that I think feels really appropriate.
Goblins XVIII: Being yourself can be dangerous.
-
Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
Goblins XVIII: I'm Not Hungry Right Now

And getting his prophecy fulfilled by having taken the chinroot given to him by Idle.

Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
I still like "Don't axe, don't yell", but the moment for it has pretty much passed by this point. Maybe some play on Redcloak and co? "Goblins XVIII, Gobbotopia this ain't"?
-
Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
My vote goes to "Being yourself can be dangerous"
-
Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
"Angst Angst Revolution!"
-
Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
I actually like a phrase Toma02 used on the previous page:
"Goblins XVIII: Trauma Conga"
-

This one sounds about right to me as well.
-
Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
Goblins XVIII: They Can Take Everything from Us, But They Can Never Take Away Our Pain
But I think the "being yourself" one is good.

Nobody knows who you are better than you do, but your decision about who you are is wrong, the answer is this, suck it.
Im hoping it is a prank and she is sending him back to the GAP. "Haha nah, just messing with you, this sends you back home, but as an adventurer, yeah, painful death is what im sending you too. It will just hopefully take awhile to happen."
She also says she "knows what it is to be seen by others as something that you're not."
Maybe she shouldn't be seen as friendly?

I might not join the discussion often, but this phrase is worth highlighting as the next thread title.

Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
sounds like we have a winner then. all we need now is for someone to volunteer to make the next thread.
-
Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
I kinda wish "To be yourself is all that you can do" could work, but I suspect lyrics wouldn't be preferred to direct quotes from the comic. It's definitely the vibe I get from the comic, moreso than the actual quote from it.
-
Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
I'm pretty sure anything with the word dangerous in it is a better fit for the vibe of goblins as a whole than anything not containing the word dangerous.
-
Re: Goblins XVII: The shocking end of the story arc
Sounded like most people liked it so I made the new thread, here.
