Drat! If Kirk has not a tell that a poker rookie can easily identify, Khyli is going to have to rely on blind luck and statistics to win what few hands she might possibly realistically stand a chance at barely winning.
Luck be her (hot) lady tonight!
Khyli wasn't expecting Dena to ask her a question like that! Her eyes dart to a fast-approaching suited waiter carrying the party's drinks to them on a silver-colored tray. The waiter will attempt to silently deliver the chilled beverages (if wine is best to served cold) to Kirk and Dena while Khyli tries to answer Dena's question with a smile as best she can.
"Well..."
*Short pause.*
"I don't know what amount I'm being paid by the hour or by the day or the duties of a casino staff member, and between you two and me, I couldn't care less. I'm here to seduce meet new people. Being paid to do it is a nice perk, but I'd be here doing basically this same thing for free anyway if I hadn't been hired to do it as an employee."
"But hypothetically, were my sights set on Mister Kirk's money, my options would be kinda limited at this point. We aren't playing cards for cash, so unless I wanted to pawn off whatever I might win, I couldn't relieve him of any of his wealth that way, but I could use the cards to drain any monetary assets he has on-hand indirectly. If he won most of the card games, he'd probably keep playing cards longer than he would have otherwise. If I arrange for your alcoholic beverages to be refilled whenever they're getting close to being empty, one of you could get a little tipsy and loosen your purse strings and purchase something more costly or gamble on the slot machines thinking that this is your lucky night on top of being billed for all of the drinks you partook of. Alternatively, I could try to break you and your boyfriend, please forgive me if I haven't correctly identified your relationship, up and end the night by going home with him in your stead after which I could possibly convince him to buy things for me for at least a day in trade for the promise of curtains later in the day. I guess I could also try to access his pocketbook by selling you items that you might be interested in. Your choice of profession leads me to believe that you must be very fond of swords which is a commodity that I own many of."
"That or I could be boring and try to provide you both with exceptionally good service and a very fun and entertaining night in the hopes that you'll both return someday to enjoy another night at this fine establishment."
"Or I could just reach into his deep pockets and steal his wallet while nobody was looking, but I'd probably get distracted by something else and entirely forget what my original mission was all about."
Khyli teases, preparing to ask Dena a question of her own!
"Why? Are you worried about me cleaning Mister Kirk out or are you looking forward to doing that to the both of us yourself? If you, hypothetically, wanted to gain all of my dosh and all of Mister Kirk's dosh, how would you go about it?"

Re: {Nexus}: The Ritzzz Casino & Club
Mr. Ritz's Lobby Office - Timeline 1
Well, this is odd. Marciano's temper is bubbling at boiling point, the only reason he's not going completely insane is because he wants to keep Butler. He begins to speak! I... That's not...
....
He puts his hand in his coat before calmly speaking. ...So, Ms... You say you came for Butler, my employee. Then you say you're from this... Gaming Commission. I've never heard of this. So, you wanna prove you are who you are, and that this commission has authority over me? I also expect payment for that property damage, or I will sue you. Kay?
Somewhere by the Office - Timeline 2
The black-coated man is greeted by the woman who I hereby call Betty. She speaks to him, appearing very friendly and respectful, though she seems to be kinda stressed out due to the sheer chaos of what is going on. She speaks slowly but cheerily. Oh? Well, hello. I'm Ms. Betty. And what would your name be? Do you have any qualifications? Mr. Ritz, as tired and sour-faced as ever slams the door wide. It appears he's had a bad day. He walks over to the black-coated man. He's dressed in a bright orange zoot suit, with a funny brightly colored feathered hat. ... Who's this?
Piano Man & Co. - Timeline 3
Oh, I get it now! Sorry, confusing taking care of all this! She just nods at him. Go ahead, he's just over there, knock first though. He gets crabby.
Half-Purple Half-Dragon - Timeline 4
He frowns before having Betty fetch Mr. Ritz. She does so, and the angry man walks out, a big cigar in his mouth. Which, ironically still has a Louv're Brand logo... If she has ever met Marciano, she might see this guy looks identical to him, but with only one arm and human sized. Kay, why ya causing trouble 'ere?
Wandering - Timeline 5
The casino is big and well-kept. They will not win anything, unless they are particularly good at the games they play. The tables are kept managed, and the food is good, albeit expensive. As if everything else here. Very big, and nice. It makes anyone feel rich and famous. The slow, jazzy music is very homey, and pretty women in glittering clothing occasionally walk around for a drink before their next show. It's very nice, and very classy.

"Sir," the woman explains, trying to remain very calm, "this man demanded that I strip. I was just trying to negotiate that I at least get payed. I am not causing trouble here: he is."
She has never seen Marciano, as it turns out.

"Yes." Says Kal, thinking quickly.
"We're here to retrieve our fellow. The man, I might add, that you just forcefully grabbed and kept in an office against his will. Sue us? Frankly Mr.... Whoever You Are... you should be glad we don't charge you for kidnapping." Kal glares at Mr. Ritz.
"And frankly, after being manhandled by this shaved monkey and threatened by your... rather gorgeous, actually... giant elf woman, I'm well considering it."

He replies very fast, speaking quickly and harshly. I didn't "hold Butler against his will". He's my friend, and employee! I am Mr. Ritz. R I T Z. Learn it, Kay? And even if you tried, I can find the best lawyer in town very quickly. I win, always. Now you, sit. Or I'm calling the police.
Timeline 4
Marciano blinks twice before facing his goon and glaring. Mr. Ritz's death glare is the thing of children's nightmares. Over the top, but intimidating. ... What? Knuckles, you go to my office, now. the one called Knuckles does so, while Marciano smiles a weak and obviously faked smile. Was he trying to search you?

The woman lets out a very impressive scoff. "He was certainly going to try."

Felandria takes a deep, calming breath and crouches down to look Kal in the eye.
Diplomacy time.
Sir, allow me to explain what has happened from our point of view.
Butler walked in here on his own volition.
He was seeking employment, and after a brief misunderstanding, Mr. Ritz happily agreed to employ him.
The only one who handled him was me, and once it was made clear he was not mocking Mr. Ritz, we were more than conciliatory, complete with numerous ear scritches.
Then you walk in here, break Mr. Ritz's door, and generally act very aggressive towards everyone.
So why don't you come into the office and Mr. Ritz and yourself can discuss this like civilized adults?

Marciano furrows his brow before adjusting his suit. He's kinda awkward due to that arm missing, so it's awfully hard to look intimidating while struggling to fix your suit. Anyway, he takes his cigar out of his mouth and blows a large puff. Well... It is his job, know that? To make sure ya don't carry any hidden weapons.

"Well, I will hasten to assure you that I am, in fact, armed. And I'm afraid there's nothing you can do to take them away. You take my sword, but that's about it." With that, she - slowly, so as to not get jumped - reaches into her trench-coat, and draws forth a very pretty looking, very thick bladed longsword. She offers it to him, hilt first.
While her trench-coat was open, it was pretty obvious that that is, in fact, all she's wearing. But that's okay! Because the scales that are on her face continue down, and there's nothing naughty showing. Well. Not that's not covered with scales, anyway.
In the brief moment her jacket was open, the scales was easy enough to tell, but body type/muscle definition is still an unknown. Fighter? Poser with a weapon? Impossible to tell.

Marciano is a little tense, due to his phobia of sharp objects. He didn't like having sharp objects near him. He chews a little on the cigar before speaking and taking her sword in his one hand. Oh? Well, what other weapons do you have, Ms? We like all our customers to feel safe.

She doesn't reply. Well, not with words. She smiles, and holds her hands up, palms facing upwards, her fingers curled into claws. Her teeth, as her smile shows, are all pointed. Much like someone went through with a file and made sure all of them were spikey. The Claw Hands show that her fingernails are actually a lot closer to talons than nails.

Piano man and his Boss
The tall man nods and leaves the woman with the otber half dragon. The half purple dragon might notice that the black half dragon, well may not be a natural halfdragon. Maybe a dragon in halfdragon form? Either way the black one seems to follow each order of the tall human man. Strange isn t it?
As the tall man arrives at the door, he knocks once and enteres immediately. If the door is closed, the door might break open if its wooden or glass. Seems like the tall man got into bad mood.
"Let s talk about business." He sais after he got into the office.

"I am Serph, Sir and Madam Betty." Serph bows with a flourish to both Betty and Ritz. "As for my qualifications, I have these to offer."
Serph opens himself to the One Power and uses Saidin to make weave a Mirror of Mists. With this he folds light and sound. Now there are five of Serph though only one is real. "With this I can speak to various customers at once." He gives an example by having his four clones speak different words at the same time.
"Though they are illusions I can also make them serve customers." With a weave of air in the illusions they can now interact with solid objects. To demonstrate the illusions pick up any possible minor object in the office area and place it back neatly.
"I am also a great listener, some customers like people to listen to their problems while drinking at the bar. I can also keep my ears shut for those who prefer their conversations private." With that he dispels his weaves, gives his best smile and bows with a flourish to Betty and Ritz. He hopes his presentation will land him the job as he needs it being jobless at the moment.

"Wait, I've been employeed sir? When did this happen sir?" :smallconfused:
"Congratulations on your new job ma'am!"
Butler smiles at Decker. It's always good to branch out every once in a while.
"If you all want, I can do the sewing for you sirs, ma'ams. It's not my best skill, but if it'll help sirs, ma'ams." Everyone seems to want to sew everyone else! You'd think they'd be grateful for it too.

Dena smirks but decides to let Kirk reveal their true relationship if he so desired. She didn't mind either way. "Honestly? I'd steal it. Pickpocketing or maybe drug your drinks while you aren't looking. The problem is of course Kirk already knows me so I have no idea why I would do that. Unless I poisoned him of course and then blame Magtok or whoever is more likely than me. But again, no idea why'd I'd do that for." She holds up the wine served to her and appears to study it for a moment. "It's the same reason I'm out here having fun right now. You simply have no reason to drug me, Kirky or any of the other guests. So rather than shutting myself into a room with a tinfoil hat those never work by the way I'm out here drinking this wine." She takes a sip. "I personally was just curious if you had any future plans for this business. I don't recommend the last method though if you're planning to keep this job. Not that I even know what your job exactly is." She puts down the glass again and throws two of her cards away for trade. "So are we playing this game or what?"

"I'm starting to wonder if I should be worried. You two are pretty quick to come up with all these plots to clean me out." Kirk say, not very seriously.

The gambling is GMed by the players, just keep in mind actually winning is extremely unlikely, and having anyone's characters win at everything automatically is not very fun, so try and be fair.

Marciano scratches his cheek before breathing in deeply and speaking, enunciating every word painfully clear. Buuuuulllllshiiiiiiiiit. Here that? Bulls are ****ting. Everywhere, there is a bull spontaneously ****ting. Just for you. Your words have caused every bull ever to exist, to ****. Even the dead ones, that's how badly thought out that lie was. Kay?
One: Good character, honesty, and integrity?! Then how the hell did Magtok ever get to open his casino?! He's as slimy as a fish dipped in motor oil. Probably what he has for dinner anyway.
Two: You can't just spout inane babble, trying to make your big fat ugly words simply daze me into submission, that don't work with me.

Not your finest hour, Marcy.
See,, when you come right down to it, Kal's a pretty easy going guy. Beat him up, toss him around, insult him, he'll only toss a few insults back and maaaaaaybe secretly try and murder you a little bit later. Kill him and ruin his favorite hat? He'll just storm around, vow vengeance on the perpetrator and then get distracted by banging Moffs and forget about the whole deal. You can even kidnap Butler! He'll only go one some zany, half-baked home invasion dressed as characters from a hit BBC Sci Fi TV series. Then you had to go and be rude to Decker. And that's a very good way to lower your life expectancy in the presence of Kal.
He moves like smoke, or maybe mirrors, dashing faster than the eye can turn in its socket to follow. Light seems to... shift around him, almost removing him from the world, before he reappears with startling force at his destination point. Not at an exit, as Grandmaster Shui'yan or Felandria might have expected, but at Marciano's throat, attempting to grab it with his left hand and slam him into the wall of his office, holding him off the ground. He resembles something human less than he did before. His eyes, previously just bright orange, now alight from within with orange fire, leaking from the corners with flame and wisps of orange smoke. His fingers, if they are in contact with Marcy's skin, feel unnaturally hot. Over time unbearably hot, and his skin may begin to smoke and sizzle a little as his flesh begins to slowly cook from the contact.
If this is all successful, than with his right hand he will attempt to deliberately draw a small knife and press it to Marcy's cheek, perhaps hard enough to draw blood.
"And now, Mr. Ritz." He says coldly, dropping the Scottish accent for the one he had more recently begun to call his own.
"Now let us discuss the matter of your tongue, and just why I should let you keep it."

So, this crazy person is threatening the owner of the casino.
Felandria is unsure whether or not Mr. Ritz is a good person or not, but morally she cannot allow his life to be threatened.
She is through playing around.
For mobility, she reduces herself to around 7'6" and enters the office.
She hated to do this, truly, she wanted to keep somewhat of a low profile, ever since her true identity was made clear to her, she had tried so hard to be mellow, to keep her ego in check, not to be a show off.
Kal had forced her hand.
Her entire body crackled with electricity, her eyes glowing white, this was pure instinct, she didn't even know she could do that yet.
DROP THE KNIFE.
DO YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE DEALING WITH?
She floats towards Kal and Ritz.
I am Felandria, scion of Zeus.
The blood of the gods flows through my veins, you dare threaten the man I have vowed to protect?
Drop the knife and step away, or I will be forced to show you what I am truly capable of.

The knife, as it is lifted, will (unless stopped) be snatched from Kal's hand by the Grandmaster. "I cannot allow you to threaten the man I hope to be employed by.
He will (assuming he got it) throw the knife away into a corner, then attempt to break Kal's hold on Mr. Ritz. If he does so, he will now be standing between the two.
He now launches a flurry of superfast blows, each one with enough force to break bones.

Of course, on the one hand, none of us knows whether Kal's attack on Marciano even succeeded. So this sequence of posts might have to be retconned out.
On the other hand, since the posts exist, I'll go ahead and write a response, knowing that the dark arts of retconjuration might be needed.
"Jane Smith" sees a ninja moving towards Kal and a Godling floating towards him. Feet are faster than floating, but well-oiled wheels are faster than both. She takes off at high speed, arms flailing, and attempts to tackle the Grandmaster. Even if he dodges her, it should slow him down to keep him from reaching Kal this round.
As for Felandria, she may or may not be aware (if that's an ability her half-god status gives her) that two of the people in the room are unholy devils, and a third is full of angelic holy goodness. No prizes for guessing who that is. :smalltongue:
Craps Table
Winning is extremely unlikely?
Willow looks around the casino, and sees a great lack of people celebrating any jackpots. She decides to go for a simple Pass Line bet, which is almost 50/50 odds. After losing five rolls in a row, she hands the dice to Arthur.
"Methinks our host is cheating us. Do you see anyone else winning? I don't."

As she wheels towards the old ninja, he leaps into the air, flips over her, grabbing her as he's at the height of his arc, then using the combined downward momentum and raw ninja strength to throw her away and hopefully keep her out of the fight for a little bit. However, he deliberately throws her in such a way that she won't get badly hurt. He's nice like that.
Continue as above, except about a second later.

[Wandering and Observing]
Jim and Gordon continue to spend the night exploring the casino. They aren't big spenders so while their bar tab keeps rising they loose only a little money gambling. Gordon will eventually start asking around seeing what kind of other services are avaliable around here, specifically the illegal and immoral variety. He won't take part in them, just seeing if they are offered.

(Felandria is fully aware that Kal and Decker are devils and as for Butler, well, obviously.
It is taking every ounce of her willpower not to hurt anyone right now, she is using her Intimidate to its fullest capacity, which is severe, to cease all violence and have a rational discussion.
But if anyone hurts anyone, she will retaliate.)
You shall not harm Ritz.
Ritz and Butler are under my protection, those who threaten them will be dealt with.
DO I MAKE MYSELF CLEAR?
Upon those last words, the sounds of a powerful lightning storm can be heard from outside.
