May I recommend the arts and crafts section of the boards for such?
You may get more desired attention.

Actually I was just going to tell you all about my weekend, but it kind of morphed into a story. It was fun to write though.

*annoyance*
I just got a C+/B- on a paper. :smallannoyed: I'm frustrated because in the peer editing we did two weeks ago, the two people who did mine had absolutely no constructive criticism to offer - basically just one or two word choice issues and "you write really well". Maybe if I wrote worse, I would get better edits. :smalltongue: I guess I was "too descriptive and not argumentative/persuasive enough".
-
Re: Perenelle's Pleasantly Playful and Passionately Peculiar Random Banter #133
It's still ridiculous to consider that "mature content".
...or even filter "mature content" at a college, IMO. I've had teachers complain about it because it makes certain research topics unsearchable. >.<
Also, Borderlands is my crack. *snuggles his Level 45 Berserker* >.>

I think a parent might be another source of additional editing. My mother has edited one of my Third World Literature papers and an Organizational Psychology paper.

A DLC is coming out? Awesome!
I do have it for the 360, but that's because its actually my brother's and he owns the 360. Also I have a friend that has it for the PS3.

You too? Man, I get that one all the time. :/ I get the feeling that some professors like to get things generalized for them and prefer things to be analyzed, rather than reported. The problem there is that a good analysis requires a through report, and sometimes they aren't entirely clear on whether they want more of a report on the subject, or an analysis of the content. :smallannoyed: This is why when I peer review, I always try to have something to say about every section of a person's paper. It's far more helpful than "Oh, I really like what you're writing about. I could never write that well."
Also, having a relative who knows stuff about editing can help too. What was the paper on anyhow, DR?

Almighty Salmon disappeared off to FFPR and I lost track of him, as did Kaelaroth, the dastards! Abandoning me like that! They're just so self-centred! :P
I left once. It didn't work out, partially due to Curly pesterin' me, partially cos I was bored.

When I "leave", I don't *leave*. I just kind of stop posting for a while. Usually it's because RB stops talking about anything but video games. :smalltongue: :smallamused:

Oh - and, did anyone see Misfits? It was/is on E4 in the UK, and it's gotten mixed reviews from real folks.

Re: Perenelle's Pleasantly Playful and Passionately Peculiar Random Banter #133
...I wish I knew all these people, but I have a dreadful case of still being very new...
I'm stil elated over finishing my final exam, though I may not breathe or eat until the results get back, which could be as late as January...
So if I unexpextantly dissapear, please understand that it's because I'm dead due to lack of breathing and eating. :smalltongue:
Especially as I'd never leave this place, ever, especially not without telling everybody I know...
I'd replace my Avatar, too, with something related to the cause for my leaving...

But I can see why your prof might want more analysis. You spent most of your paper describing all the different covenants, which did ultimately logically lead to your point, but it could have been a bit much.

I saw about five minutes. It looked like Heroes... WITH CONVICTS AND IN BRITAIN!
Though I didn't watch much... did it get any better?

Re: Perenelle's Pleasantly Playful and Passionately Peculiar Random Banter #133
Ugh, I have the "Total lack of constructive criticism" problem as well. I swapped my creative writing piece with a freind today, and she basically made no changes, whereas I covered hers in pen suggesting corrections etc.
Sometimes it just sucks to be good at stuff, I guess? At least I'm keeping up with the coursework despite the "Basically any deadlines for you are out of the window considering the home situation" exenuating circumstances.
...I still need to write that list for UCAS, actually.

Re: Perenelle's Pleasantly Playful and Passionately Peculiar Random Banter #133
Cobra: TOR will get around a lot of filters. I use it all the time. It slows things down, but better than nothing.
So I just got back from school, where I managed to avoid a fight. Probably a good thing, considering I'm sick and my hand's already busted up. Even so, it's annoying how confrontational people can be about their own mistakes.

See, I don't want to stomp on your teacher too much *Or DR's teacher, as it were*, but that sounds suspiciously like being lazy. "Oh, she's describing so much, but I can't be bothered to read all of it. I'll just summarize and say she needs to evaluate things a bit more".
I'm sure it's more complex than that though. ^^; Maybe they were looking for a deeper analysis on each individual covenant, rather than a summary of them as a whole?
