Not always
and regardless, I usually say (or link) whatever adds to the conversation.

Seeing as it's true, that should be fine.:smalltongue:

Ok, it's cute, but how precisely does this add to the conversation?

I doesn't need to! It's just sooo kyuut!
@V: Naw, a person like Rawhide could easily get over his existentialist angst.
-
Re: Rutskarn's Roly-Poly Rebellious and Rejected Random Banter #110
Maybe the cuteness is supposed to distract us from pestering him to find out deeply-hid mod secrets.
We shall never know whether the bright and playful exterior masks a deep-seated existentialist angst that only those powerful few can dream of admitting to their souls.

Re: Rutskarn's Roly-Poly Rebellious and Rejected Random Banter #110
Actually, the picture works on several levels...
1. It's not a link, it's an embedded image.
2. With point 1 in consideration, it is a relative of the seemingly random link.
3. Link/link pun damage
4. ...
5. PROFIT?!?
6. No, no profit, this wasn't a step by step guide or instructional manual. The "...PROFIT!" only works if you are giving step by step instructions. You miss an instruction and then the person following the instructions is supposed to profit from whatever was missed. It does not work with bullet points, not even numbered bullet points like this.

:smallsigh:
I just got the pun.
Slow Rand is slow.

Re: Rutskarn's Roly-Poly Rebellious and Rejected Random Banter #110
See, it used to be when I saw Rawhide post, I'd have this sick feeling in my stomach that someone did something bad, or the conversation went off track.
Now, that typically only happens when I see Roland has posted >>
I have a deep-rooted fear of the male mods. o.o

I have a deep rooted fear of all mods. I blame it on WoTC. I'm starting to accept that they are sometimes normal people.

All the mods I've ever know have been awesomesauce. Brownie points? :D

All the mods I know here are. But i still think "AHHHH! MOD! Run away!"

Re: Rutskarn's Roly-Poly Rebellious and Rejected Random Banter #110
The mods on the first forum I ever went too were pretty awesome, and the same has held true here. It really depends where on the internet you are.
-
Re: Rutskarn's Roly-Poly Rebellious and Rejected Random Banter #110
Regarding your questions, I do know that there are some people that fear the mods to the point that in their mind they completely dehumanise us, but I rarely think of it unless they remind me. That is certainly not what we want, we are just people, ordinary humans like everyone else and we like to be thought of as such, we just have a little more responsibility. We're not some secret police out to get you as some people seem to think, we're just here to help the community grow and stay friendly. We are a part of the community too.
-
Re: Rutskarn's Roly-Poly Rebellious and Rejected Random Banter #110
Oh, I'm not saying they aren't awesome.
I'm just saying I have a healthy amount of fearrespect for them.
Edit: I know, Rawhide. I think I just get so used to associating your name with scary red text that its often easy to forget you aren't big bad internet cyborgs out for our tasty souls which you take after we've been bad

Re: Rutskarn's Roly-Poly Rebellious and Rejected Random Banter #110
I learned something today that really shouldn't have come as a surprise. Kittens lose their baby teeth. Specifically, mine lost one of hers in my arm. :smallconfused:

Dogs do too. Ours would lose her teeth in her chew toys. :smallconfused:

Re: Rutskarn's Roly-Poly Rebellious and Rejected Random Banter #110
I read that first bit as a deep-seated fear of male models. Now what has she been doing to have such a phobia come into play? I wondered to myself...
Y'know, for someone who has played midwife at several kitten-birthings (You don't want to know what the hot water and clean towels are for, trust me)... I've never really encountered the lost milk-teeth of any kittens.

The kittens generally swallow them - I mean, kittie teeth are teeny tiny little things which you won't notice unless they happen to lose them in your hand (as mentioned above).
My cat refused to give birth unless left alone in a dark, quiet spot. We obliged her - so I have no idea what being a cat midwife would entail.

And now you've insulted a whole galaxy. Well done, Player zero, well done. Don't come crying to me when the aliens come and graffiti all over your begonias!
In other news: Musical theatre? I just don't know.

Oh crap! That galaxy is blue shifting! It's coming for me!
...Bad physics joke anyone? No? Well whatever...

I do!
And Zero, I would have laughed at your bad physics joke, but I was still busy laughing at Bath's aliens graffiti-ing your begonias.

Why did the cat fall off the roof? Because its μ was too small! HOHO! I'll shut up now.
@Thufir: What do you know? *shines bright anglepoise lamp in face*

Ah ha ha ha. Coefficient of friction.
But really, I've heard 'em all. I don't think there's anyone left in the world who hasn't heard :
I've lost an electron.
Are you sure?
I'm positive?
Or that really horrible one about sine and cosine at the beach...

Re: Rutskarn's Roly-Poly Rebellious and Rejected Random Banter #110
μ? Mu? Mew? Like a cat? That wasn't the joke of course. The joke was that Greek letters are silly.
*snh snh snh* Ancient Greeks...

Here, let me explain them in excruciating detail.
See, blue shift is what occurs when an object is moving towards you. Andromeda is coming towards the Milky Way and so is blue shifting. Therein lies the crappy joke. Blue shift itself is an apparent shortening of the wavelength of light and whatnot. And I do say apparent here, since we're talking about light. It is blue shift because the shorter wavelengths of visible light correspond to the blue end of the spectrum, where red is the opposite end. Just as there is blue shift there is red shift when something is moving away from you.
Also, the coefficent of friction μ, which is unique to each surface, is basically a measure of how easily an object slips along it. With a low μ the surface will allow pretty much anything to slip off of it. μ is also pronounced 'mew'. Like a cat. The coefficient of friction is defined by the model that the maximum force of friction that can occur is equal to the coefficient of friction multiplied by the normal reaction, if I recall correctly.

Re: Rutskarn's Roly-Poly Rebellious and Rejected Random Banter #110
The mew one I understood it, it was the blue shifting one the problematic one. And yes, ancient greeks letters are silly. There is one in spanish wich is pronounced with the same word we use for breats, oh, those silly engineers, they had a lot of cheap laughs.
Anyway, how do you call a circle with negative radius? A vicious circle!
(please dont hit me)
