Re: Not-So-Mith'd Opportunity: Random Banter # 222
Hey everyone. I got my new Infinity Gauntlet and 6 Infinity Stones. Now according to the instructions of the Infinity Gauntlet, Don't snap your fingers while using the Infinity Gauntlet. So I snap my fingers while using the Infinity Gauntlet and I see a few people in my neighborhood.

I live very close to the train station nowadays, and often run at least part of the distance to get a few minutes better seat. Along one of the streets is a building whose bottom floor wall consists entirely of toned glass windows, acting as a giant mirror for the people passing by.
And every time I run past it, I get the Tintin theme playing in my head. It's quite the motivator!

I should run another Feng Shui game. I should do a lot of things, really. It'll be a For Later thing.
That... that sounds awesome! Also scary!

If so, could you please close the door when you're coughing up hairballs?

Ah, the fabled "should do" list, ever ravenous for new projects to claim and hoard like a jealous dragon.

Have you ever seen a cat close a door? Out of consideration? http://i.imgur.com/FZ6yI9l.png

So now that you've entered the thread you immediately want to leave again?

Nah, they just want the thread to stay open so they can think it.

It's worse because after putting even a modicum of thought into it I realize my novel's setting would translate to Feng Shui SO good. I really wanna do this now, but I've got another game running.
Possibly a reading comprehension failure on my part by I was under the impression you're walking on a raised platform with glass floor.

Clearly that's how you write several spin-off novels. Run games in the setting, and then de-murderhobo editorialize the adventures therein. :smallwink:

Well, you've maybe-probably got a volunteer here if you ever choose to do such things. (And probably other people, too, but, I can't speak for them. I knew I should have invested in ventriloquism. :smalltongue: )

I prefer catnip tea, if you don't mind. Offerings of the blood of your enemies are also good. Or tea made from the blood of your enemies.

So I applied for a job yesterday, and they've already contacted me about a telephone interview in the next two weeks.

Unfortunately I don't have a goat handy, is there another acceptable sacrifice to the gods?

Your first-bon son, or, failing that, a small dandelion named Harold.

Just find a virgin you don't like, and remember, the first bite is with the eye. Presentation, presentation, presentation!

Oh please, I have a ready supply of virgin blood, I just need a knife.
Unfortunately the ritual I have also requires an animal sacrifice and dancing in a field without your smallclothes.
Also whatever happened to Choose your own Adventure books? I loved them as a teen, and yet it's been years since I last stumbled across one (boy counting the one a friend just got me for my birthday, which sparked this liner of thought).

As long as you've got an enthusiastic group of people who like each other, you should be a-ok. I'd recommend keeping a Discord or some other IM chat for OOC talking, though. I find that makes people a lot less likely to ghost or get into misunderstandings that lead to fights. Just my two cents*, at least. But, I'm sure you'll be able to do fine!
*Disclaimer: Two cents rounds down to zero in applicable countries, including Canada.

Yeah, right now I got three players lined up I... believe (Zodie, AuthorGirl and FriendOfAuthorGirlWhoseNameIDon'tKnow). It'd be nice to get a fourth player, but we'll see.

Chances are, you'll do fine. And if you don't, you'll learn how to be a better DM or player. Just remember to communicate (I don't know you terribly well, but doesn't seem to be an issue from what I remember of you on the forums), and it'll help a lot.
Or you can read some gaming horror stories and just say 'Well, at least MY game didn't end in attempted assault'.

Or alleged successful assault.

Shush, do you want to get more applications? Because that's how you get flooded with applications.

There's some confusion over whether it actually happened, but after the first "That Lanky Bugger" story, an account cqme by called "Return Of Lanky" or something to that effect talking about how he was getting a bit too affectionate with a friend, and his girlfriend stabbed him for it.
Then there was an account called "Not That Faker" that was saying how that wasn't Lanky and the whole thing was BS.
So, who knows what happened? I sure don't.

That's why I'm not counting that one, that and the fact that it made the Lanky Bugger seem a bit...Well, a jerk, for flirting with one of his players while being in a relationship. I'm not saying that's a stabbing offense or excuses the girlfriend's behavior if it indeed happened, but it doesn't exactly flatter him, now does it?

...that just brings to mind every time I've attempted to publicly recruit for PTU Play-by-Posts. Having to sort through upwards of two dozen applicants is, uh, "fun". Yep. That's totally the word.
IT's always the worst part of doing stuff like that. Having to disappoint people. But... can't take everyone. That's just the reality.
