Yeah, well, don't eat it then, Dragonprime.
As they were so short, I would think that those nettles were quite young, and thereore lack the 'sting' of their old counterparts.
Man, always with the cyberdeaths. :smallfrown:
Some friends and I almost got into QI, then a mean-spirited lady in front yelled at the guy on the door about us being too young, so we got turned away for not having any id. And we'd already asked the guy who minds the queue and he said it'd be fine too!
@v Le gasp! You are a poor and uneducated urchin in the ways of British institutions! It is Quite Interesting. It is one of my favourite two panel shows ever, hosted by Stephen Fry and populated by comedians. (the other being Never Mind the Buzzcocks)

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
What's QI, Dr. Bath?
Does it stand for Quail Institute?
-
Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
It's a quite interesting show.
-
Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
I think a Quail Institution would be more interesting.

If you'd gotten on QI you'd have received one million cyberdeaths.
Coincidentally, two of my top four panel shows ever are also QI and Never Mind the Buzzc*cks.
Both of them have had me laughing till I cried.

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
I don't know anyone who doesn't like QI and NtB. They're pretty damn funny, and consistantly so.
I will say that I prefer Alan Davies to pretty much all the other cast line up, though. Hobo-biting ways or no.
-
Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
Yes yes. Everyone loves a good panel show. Particularly one including Stephen Fry.
Alan Davies is highly amusing, but I wouldn't say that much more so than any other of the panel members.
Hiding would be advisable, Dallas. You don't want to be in the same position as me. What with the many many cyberdeaths all the time. :smallannoyed: Oh woe is me! Spurned at every corner, deaded by mon cap-i-tan!

Otherwise... I hope gamefaqs allows it heheheh.

And are we talking about TV stuff...? Know nothing about Hollywood or anything of that sort. Never watch TV anymore, and I get so easily lost on these conversations:smallfrown:

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
Cool, I'm Bath's capitane! I think I shall undo half the cyberdeaths I've given him. They're all envy inflicted anyway.
Also: 8 out of 10 Cats (one of my Top four panel shows along with HIGNFY and the two above) is on soon. Can't wait.
And anything with Stephen Fry's awesome. But I must recommend HIGNFY webisode 3.
It has BRIAN BLESSED and he's absolutely barmy.
I insist you watch it. Slight addendum to 'anything with Stephen Fry's awesome': EXCEPT when he's Oscar Wilde in Wilde because they show some fairly graphic sex scenes between Wilde and some guy whose name I can't remember. Now I'm all tinged with shock. Again. Stupid memories.

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
Hmmm... I don't like 8 out of 10 cats quite as much...
I just don't like the style of quiz.
-
Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
Still pretty deaded though. *decomposes slightly*
I think you may be double lost, Masato as it is not only TV, but British TV. That most mystifying of mediums.
8 out of 10 cats: meh. It's alright, but not fantabulous. I prefer 'Would I lie to you?' It has David Mitchell.
-
Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
No, I am not a fan of 8 out of ten cats either, but I cannot help but admire Jimmy Carr for his quick whittedness!
Anyone used to listen to "Im Sorry I Havent A Clue"? on radio 4, hosted by humph? Who unfortuantely passed away a few months ago :smallfrown:
Any Bill Bailey Fans? Or Dylan Moran. they are my favorite two comedians.
-
Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
I love would I lie to you? David Mitchell's five point plan to surviving prison.:smallwink:
Lee Mack's hilarious as well, like when John Barrowman said he was gay.
EDIT:Bill Bailey's hilarious, hats off to the Zebra.

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
Never heard of Sorry, I Haven't Got A Clue. At least, not until about ten days ago.
I intend to listen to it. Apparently there's a site with nearly every episode they made. Now to wait for friend to email me said adress.
@Bath: y'know, I went onto your photobukkit a while ago looking for one of my old avvies. And I saw the new Curly. *blink*
Stunned.

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
What about Mock The Week? I enjoy that one a lot.
-
Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
FIne.
Top Five panel shows then.
Mock The Week
Never Mind the Buzzc*cks
8 out of 10 Cats
HIGNFY
QI
In no particular order. I also love Bill Bailey. I saw 'E for Empire' on QI earlier this week with Shawn Locke, Bill Bailey, Jo Brand and Alan Davies.
One of the funniest ones I've seen recently. They were dressed in Victorian stuff. Jo was Queen Vic; Shawn was some red coat with a huge collar (he couldn't turn his neck), Alan was a Rajah and Bill was - well, think boating on the Thames in a punt with a white suit and a straw boater. That kind of outift.
Oh, and Stephen Fry was pretty much Charles Dickens or Dickensian at the least.

Wha...? When you do get it, linkies..? Pleash!

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
Mock the Week's awesome as well. Frankie's the best on it because he had no boundaries, Hugh Dennis(or whatever the dude that was in my hero as the doctor is called) is quite funny as well.

Right here. Beardy humour is the best kind.
Ain't watched much Mock of the Week... Maybe I should.

Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
Frankie rocks. And the guy who (I think was also on Dead Ringers) can imitate george Bush and Tony Blair really well. And that tall guy who keeps asking "Do you like the music of . . . Showaddywaddy?" and has a quiff thing.
-
Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
*shrugs*
No ideas and no stuff to do make bathy go crazy.
:smallfrown:
RIP Mr. Lyttelton. RIP :smallfrown:
I loved I'm sorry I haven't a clue. I got to go to one recording, but I sadly missed the other my friend managed to get tickets for. It was one of the last they did...
I love Bill Bailey, brilliant stuff. As is Ross Noble, absolutely love his stuff. Eddie Izzard is good too.

The impressionist is called Jon Culshaw, and yes he is great. (and so are Jan Raven's Fiona Bruce impressions, for that matter)
-
Re: Dr. Bath's Random Banter, dripping with daring deeds of dastardly deipnosophists
I has ideas. Besides, I like this avvie. Actually, love it. Any chance of a Lady MacScottishPlay? Or Curly Blackadder? Or one based on Red Dwarf? Or a Tiffany Aching one? With the kitten as a Feegle?

Rory Bremner? yer, he was funny it's a pity he left.

That's Hugh Dennis(I think that's his name anyway darnit) doing his Jimmy Saville impression, it's also funny when mentions Ocean Finance.

Lucky you. I was given the chance, but in a fit of teenage spite and supidity i turned it down! I simply cannot believe that, but i did. Any thoughts on who should replace him. I am thinking along the lines of Stephen Fry, or maybe Clarkson...?
