"Whither weather wither on the WWW!"
or in other words:
make the weather (rain or snow) go away wither on the world wide web (our server)!
we could also just not have "on the WWW!" and just have "Whither weather wither!"

Meanwhile in Tekkit...
Having found this while pondering power flowers, I went ahead and built it.
The Nether brick to the left surrounds my geothermal generator. Now I just need to make a frame for this contraption.

I may have found bug just now; whenever I switch worlds, it turns all written books in my inventory into blank, un-editable ones upon returning.

Also, herpaderp, I accidentally upgraded on my main computer...I'll try not to upgrade on this one, if I have time to get the energy to do all the things that need doing...
If you like to play on LAN, you should probably wait for 1.4.5 anyway.
1.4.4: over 120 bugfixes, at least 1 new bug that makes it impossible to join a LAN world. I went back to 1.4.2 as fast as I could. Jar download on minecraft.net

Argh
All this time and Effort ( and number of lava/nether Deaths) to make a Power supply and it doesn't work - the redpower machines are doing what they are meant to but the water mills are not producing EU despite being fed water (have tried Copper, Gold and Tin wire feed out from them but nothing is charging)
tempted to dismantle it all and use reliable Charcoal powered generators

If Tin is more than 40 cables long, then you'll see a 100% energy loss.
Water does not and cannot exist in the Nether. If you are trying to do a water bucket brigade for power supply in the Nether, it isn't going to work. Go with Geothermal instead.
Also make sure the tin is hooked up to some kind of energy storage device. The power plants won't pump power if there's nothing TO power

I'm aware of all that.
This thing was not built without anything to be powered and its not in the Nether. I saw this fancy Setup in a couple of Videos and thought that would be neat...
Soon as you try anything complex it all stops working
Now i think i'll stay with Fuel Burning ones (it will be quieter anyway - less ticking of the timer) and with the Transmutation Tablet i'll not run out of Wood to turn into Charcoal any time soon (feed it spare gems since i actually have 2 Diamond Picks atm ~ product of a Fiery death and the rage at losing a Diamond tool ease when you discover the tool and everything else you were carrying is still intact, still lesson learned in that don't use netherack under Obsidian when mining it since it breaks so damm fast)

Re: Minecraft Thread X: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the ... SSSSSSSS
Watermills don't work properly in multiplayer.
Strainers half work properly in multiplayer - they work half of the time.

Re: Minecraft Thread X: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the ... SSSSSSSS
Give a screenshot / upload of your world, I can take a look. I used a lot of water power in my single player world - only reason I stopped using it was that strainers got a lot more buggy in multiplayer.

Re: Minecraft Thread X: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the ... SSSSSSSS
More reading, watching and Tinkering has shown that it worked briefly with 2 mills going and the Original Designer says that if it doesn't work then to re-download the RP2 Machine pack (which is a moot point as i am playing on Tekkit)
Gold to Wood Ahoy

Ahh. Tekkit. That explains it.
Friends don't let friends do Tekkit. These things tend to happen with it.

Meh, it would have been nice to know that it didn't work before i spent the time collecting the parts.
I'm aware that you don't like the Modpack but it generally works for what i want it to. Beats keeping track of half a dozen assorted mods.
Plenty of people seem to use and enjoy it so its not all bad.

Re: Minecraft Thread X: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the ... SSSSSSSS
Looking for a minor mod, not sure if it exists. What I want is wood and stone tiles that behave like glass panes.

Wooden and Stone Fences?
-
Re: Minecraft Thread X: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the ... SSSSSSSS
Not what I want. I want something to use for interior walls so that rooms look a little bigger, even without any significant size increase. Trying to replicate some buildings, and full-tile walls are just too thick. They look right with panes, though (other than being glass, of course).

Wooden/Stone half-blocks, now that they can be placed in different orientations?

They can? I was unaware of such a capability.

I know they can be placed upside-down, and I thought they could be placed sideways in the same update that significantly increased the versatility of the staircase, but I could be wrong.
I know that Redpower2's half-slabs can be placed vertically, but it would require a 1.2.5 build, because it was never updated to 1.3.2 and the 1.4.2 build has yet to be released.

Now that I'm not annoyed by the problem and i have thought about it. If the Suggestion is to re-download the machine pack due to problems then Tekkit is hardly the cause of the problems if people without it still cant get it to work as intended.

Re: Minecraft Thread X: In the jungle, the mighty jungle, the ... SSSSSSSS
My Tekkit world has a nine-water-mill system running perfectly, built using this design.
