Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
The Midnighter
"I knew there was a reason I married you."
Nicodemus takes advantage of the good (or not-so-good-anymore) Father kneeling on the ground, to kick him through the Sliph. Nobody ever said the man was subtle. Ask any of the people who pissed him off.
Light
"No he wasn't. It's the void for your soul. Neither Heaven or hell. Why claim it?" It replies. "Otherwise you are right. You remain alive only so long as you serve me. Fear not. I am the kindest of tyrants."
Jenny Sparks
Jenny approaches Sylar cautiously. Surviving death by vacuum was near-impossible. And without knowing how he did it...
"How did you do it?"
Nobody claimed Jenny Sparks was subtle either. Case in point was her "final" act: electrocuting the Creator of the Solar System, prison-chair style.
Sam Oliver
"Have...to...try."
Sam tries to get up again, collapses.
"Ow..."

Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Light
"So be it." The world snaps back into focus.
Midnighter's real name is Wayne Bruce (Yeah I went there), he shall live another seven years, then will be crushed to death.
Apollo's is Michael Kent, he shall die in nine years, due to no sunlight.
Misa and Anderson have no name or date, and neither do either of the Ghost Riders.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Light
Light grins as he looks at them. This was power. He knew the fate of everyone before him. He could kill anyone with the death note now, absolutely anyone, no matter what they did.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Anderson
The silvery liquid enfolds you, as you travel through the Sliph. It is agony and rapture at once, sensation beyond your dreams, and your lungs burn with the need to breathe.
But you haven't dealt with Anduriel yet, and if you do, you will die.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
(Okay, here goes)
Quote: The infirmary (also, update on all available NPC's)
And on the surface, in the city surrounding the enormous peoples palace, a woman in a trenchcoat and priests vestments leans against a wagon and cleans and loads her guns, putting a bag beneath the wagon and seemingly unaware she is being watched.
Sanya:
The Knight of the Cross walked down the city street, muttering to himself in accented English. "I do not ask for this. Forthill calls me, says Niccodemus is up to tricks in Basin City, tells me to keep an eye out for Father Anderson. It is my job, da? So I arrive, then city is suddenly different, like medieval times. You would think the high powers that appear at first glance to be angels would give heads up. Ah, can't be helped, can't be helped."
Sanya straightened his head, and suddenly saw a person in priest vestments
load guns near a wagon.
He brighten: "Hmm! A priest plus a gun. That equals Iscariot! This should be interesting..." He broke into a jog, intending to meet up with a priest. As he passed by a nearby alleyway, however, a muscle-bound arm reached out and yanked him in.
There was shout of suprise, followed several large thumps, a filthy Russian curse, and then the ring of steel. Sanya sprinted out again, Esperacchius drawn, blood staining the tip, waving his hand at the priest and shouted at the top of his lungs:
"Hey Iscariot guy! Found spot of trouble here!" and then, more sheephisly, "Prastite!"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Light
Light moves forward towards Misa, wondering what power she had been given, "It's wonderful, isn't it?"
Sylar
The man opens his eyes. Where was he? He looks up at the woman over him, "Who are you?"

Anduriel
A gift for you, my host. There is little point in your death.
Anduriel gives Anderson (minimal) access to Hellfire, with no strings attached. For much the same reason drug dealers give newcomers the first hit free.
Jenny Sparks
Really? He didn't know her? He looked old enough to be born in the twentieth century, and she, Jenny Sparks, was famous. Apparently, she had a memorial and a funeral with important world leaders and everything.
Christ, she hated amnesia. Soap Opera and regular, too.
"You really don't know? Do you know who you are?"

Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Heinkel Wolfe
Her head snaps up, and her thin lips stretch into a scowl. Her blues eyes narrow behind her aviator sunglasses, and with a few practiced movements, she ***** her gun.
Then she goes to work.
In a flurry of clothes, she twists and fires three times, each bullet narrowly missing the knight and striking the alley.
"Herr Sanya." She says cooly. She knows him by reputation. "Truly vun never knows vhat zey vill find, ja?"
Anderson
He breathes, the quicksilver substance entering his lungs, then exhales. Alive.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Light
Her head snaps up to look at you, and then she changes. Her dress becomes less clingy and more attractive, the sort of designer dress that doesn't have name-tags. Cool sunglasses appear on her face in a puff of smoke, and there is a red gleam behind them.
"Crowley for the moment." Says a voice that is vaguely masculine, and extremely laid back and relaxed. "Part of the deal, I get an hour every week, to use however I want." He, or she, or whatever, gets to Misa's feet. "The name's Crowley, demon of the third circle. Lets all be friends."
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
The Midnighter
The Midnighter shakes his head at "Misa's" antics.
"And I was going to put my hands on one of those things? Yeah right."
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Light
"An interesting deal. I doubt I could have gotten such a deal. He doesn't seem the sort to care." This wouldn't help him. The demon had to get the deal in such a crucial point. Just when things went well..., oh well. Light walks over towards the Silph and moves through the gateway.
Sylar
"No...do you know who I am?" Where was he? Who was he or she? Why did he get the vague feeling he'd wondered all of this before?
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Jenny Sparks
"No...no I don't. I'm sorry." Really, she doesn't. Sylar was after her time, and all she knew was that the man had tried to attack her friends. But as far as she was concerned, that man was dead.
"But I know someone who might. Shen, any thoughts as to who this strapping young man is?"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sanya:
"Da, da!" The Knight of the Cross cheerfully replies, as he arrives at Heinkel's side.
He wipes off the blood from the tip of Esperacchius, and sheathes it.
"Case in point: I arrive in Basin City to foil Niccodemus, and suddenly entire parts of city replaced by scene from Monty Python, and I get mugged in alley by a guy with sword! Very unexpected!"
As he talks, he takes the duffel bag from his shoulder, sets it on the ground, and pulls out a Kalasnikov. Heinkel sees the glint of metal, something else, before the bag is sealed again.
"Then I team up with man from Section 13 to defend against imminent ambush by who knows what!" He sighs. "Expected good old-fashioned Denarians. Still, Nichichvo..."
He sights down the assault rifle, ready to fire at any attackers that might be emerging from hiding.

Misa smiles like a shark "Oh yes you will. Or you'll die when Mr Rahl stops playing games." He/She replies. "He is a war wizard, able to weave the very fabric of heaven and hell into all his magic. Only those who are protected survive. The rest are unmade." He picks a coin up at random and tosses it to you. "So if I were you I'd go a step up and get some protection."
Jenny Sparks and Shen
The Authority deals with global threats. And while Sylar is very notorious within certain circles, he doesn't quite equate to their level. Swift shrugs, although he does seem very familiar.
The various animals begin to creep closer still.

Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Heinkel Wolfe
Heinkel isn't vain, but there really is such thing as too much. Reaching up, she removes her coat and drops it.
She really does have a nice figure.
"He moves in mysterious ways." She replies, before bending her knees and lowering herself into a crouch.
Then she catches up. "Hyu mean ze black Apostly, Ja? Ze churches greatest enemy?"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
The Midnighter
He sighs and catches it. His eyes flicker to Apollo.
"Angel, could you head back to the Carrier? I don't want you to get hurt again."
As he watches Apollo leave, he mutters a short phrase under his breath.
"They say the Devil has no hold over true love."
Jenny Sparks
"For the time being, consider yourself to officially be 'Bob.' And Bob, there are a great deal of animals who want to have us for tea and crumpets. Let's deny their invitation, shall we?"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
'Bob'
"Bob?" Bob? Maybe that was it, "Let's run then, shall we?"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
"D...uh, yes! Nicodemus Archleone, foe of the Knights of the Cross, leader of the Denarians, and Da, the Dark apostle!"
He looked around. Was there some movement in the distance, a glint of metal, a gleam of green eyes?
"Very crafty, very evil. Would not be surprised if he did something to cause Medieval Times!"
Despite the jovial nature of his voice, his eyes went hard as he spoke, the hardness of a man who has been fighting the forces of Hell for years.
"We should stick together. Trying to fight Nicodemus alone, would be very bad!"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Jenny Sparks
"I doubt we can outrun the wolves. Don't be alarmed."
Jenny sends a bolt of lightning at one of the wolves. Her face hardens, and she barks out in a commanding tone.
"Back! Back!"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Wolfe
A bowlegged, dwarf like thing with an ugly squashed face, long, apelike arms and a pot-belly steps around the corner after the two of you.
Midnighter
Apollo stares at you for a moment. "I'll check on Hawksmoor." He says. "But then I'm coming back. You need me on this. And don't ask me to wait and not know what happened to you."
Then the coin activates.
The room goes dark. The first thing you get is the sensation of filth. Like if you scrub until your skin bleeds, you'll never be clean. Everything seems dirty, sickening. You look at Apollo's face and feel an urge to break it, to destroy the perfect features, smash them until they are unrecognizable, and it fills you with a primal pleasure.
It's gone in an instant, but leaves you unsettled. A broken, twisted thing stands, then towers over you. It's body is perfect in every way, a naked male with each muscle chiseled, smooth perfection. The head, on the other hand, is a round, squashed ugly thing with snaggled teeth and piggish, squinting eyes, hanging jowls and gross, blubbery skin nine sizes too big.
It's hands move to caress you. "So pretty." It murmurs. "Pretty pretty."
Dungeon
Crowleys smile widens and he tosses another coin, this one at Ozymandius.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Heinkel Wolfe
In answer, she tosses a rope at you. It's frayed, worn and tattered through use and wear, but unmistakably a primitive noose wove of straw.
"Anderson got him first." She replies. "He took down most of ze Iscariot. Anderson got veby angry."
Ozymandius
Adrian catches it smoothly, and waits.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Jenny Sparks
Out of nowhere, this starts playing.
One of the wolves is hit directly, the force of the bolt so strong he is roasted in an instant, sparks flying and the air heavy with the scent of burned hair.
For a moment, they back away, but then they continue to close in, growling. They have incredible co-ordination, each all but marching in step.
Ozymandius
Nothing. Nothing at all. It's just a piece of metal. How foolish of you for expecting anything supernatural to occur.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
The Midnighter
His response is typical. He breaks the index fingers on each of the hands.
"If you know anything, it's that I'm not doing this because I want to. Let's talk, and leave the mind games out of this. Or I'll walk away, and put your coin in the center of a black hole."
Jenny Sparks
"Shen, I'm going to need a bit of help here."
Jenny throws another bolt at the center of the group.
"Bob, when I say 'jump,' jump."
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Jenny Sparks
Shen spreads her wings and goes up, only to be attacked by an army of the carrion birds, going for her eyes and throat with their sharp beaks.
The Midnighter
It laughs, a disgusting, putrid sound, and the fingers heal. "What do you want, pretty?"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Sanya:
Sanya catches the noose, and blinks. For a long time. Then, a faint grin appears, and widens, and he lets out happy laughter:
"Ha! Hahahaha! The old Hungry Lion is dead!" His feet do a little 'happy dance'. He turns to Heinkel:
"Ja Teba Lublu, Devouska!!!". Then he kisses her full on the lips.
There's a moment of awkwardness. Then Sanya composes himself.
"Still, many Iscariot priests died. I do not mean to belittle that. And we are still in Medieval Times." He brightens a bit.
"Tell you what. After all is over, we hold party. Celebrate brighter days to come, down Vodka Russian style, and remember fallen absent friends."
The dwarf charges them. Sanya puts the noose in his pocket, raises his Kalashnikov and shouts: "Halt, or I kill you!"
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Jenny Sparks
Jenny throws a lightning bolt at one of Shen's attackers.
"Bob, I might need some help here. Find a rock or something and throw it, will you?"
The Midnighter
"Protection against one foe. After that, we go our separate ways; I hand you off to the Vatican, and you get a shot at corrupting a priest. Or, there's the black hole if you aren't interested in the deal."
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Midnighter
It laughs. "You bluff, pretty." It accuses.
Jenny Sparks
Swift breaks through the press of birds and begins circling, keeping moving and killing them one by one. But there are no corpses. they simply reduce, and by the time they hit the ground they are gone.
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
The Midnighter
"Not at all."
The Midnighter thinks for a moment-and the two are meeting in his head, he has some control over what goes on in there-and reveals the coordinates from the center of the universe for the nearest quasar. They exist as numbers, floating above his head.
"Just imagine. No more tempting mortals. No more admiring pretties. No more sight or sound or smell. Just you, all alone in your prison. Crushed into almost nothingness for all time."
-
Re: Twilight IV: No More Heroes!
Heinkel
Shocked at his action (She was raised in a catholic orphanage and took her vows when she was seventeen, as world weary as she is she's very inexperienced in certain areas), she is momentarily confused, then snaps out of it. She shoots, hitting the dwarf between the eyes. Perfect as usual.
"Ja, ve all rejoice. My friends smile down from limbo, knowik zey give zere lives in ze service of zis. Weep not for ze dead." She says back, then bends down and replaces her coat. she stows the pistols aside, and picks up the bag. there is a jangle of coins.
"Ve do not be knowink vhat cause zis though." She says, referring to the bizarre cross between the modern and the old. "Anderson be tryink to learn vhat. Ve have bigger problem." She opens the bag to show the silver.
