Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Snowy Plains]
Hill will manage to swoop away Wenomir just in time, leaving the small lake of silvery-liquid froming underneath behind them. But as they lift into the air one of the missiles from earlier projectiles itself against them, coming at a high speed.
It's not alone either, to the north and the south are two more, both flying towards the two.
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
"Yes, but it could be a trap, we have no idea how dangerous whatever that big thing is. I suggest we at least move slowly at the very least. Those three demons were hard enough to drive away, these could be far more dangerous." Cessie argues as they descend to the ground.

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Above the Hunting Grounds --> The Forest]
"Aye marm, careful as could be," Cornelia says, throwing down a line and sliding down with a gloved hand. She lands gracefully, boots slapping the wet earth, and has a look around.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
The forest seems pretty quiet at the moment. As quiets as a forest ever is, at least. There are plenty of signs of small animals moving around, the sound of a nearby creek, that sort of thing. If they want to find their quarry, they'll have to move forward.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
"I'm not sure it's such a good idea to leave the zeepelin undefended like this." Cessie comments as she see Cornelia get down. But she couldn't leave her unprotected of course, so she summons a major air elemental which she possesses to follow the gunslinger down to the ground.
Cornelia will see a vaguely humanoid (Cessie-shaped) shaped air-being follow her down on the ground. "It's just me." The elemental explains. "Let's just go and deal with these creatures."
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
"Are you a ghost now?" Cornelia says, clearly a bit perturbed by the vaguely woman-shaped bubble of air. Whatever her answer, the gunsmith will shake her head and move forward. Her gun is drawn, the cylinder checked, and the hammer cocked. All good to go.

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Snowy Plains]
Hill will dump Wenomir on the ground once they're clear, trusting him to handle the landing. They weren't very high up, anyway. "Got an idea."
Next he does something weird, namely he draws his sword, activates the superheating function on it, and hurls it off in another direction, leaving it embedded in the ground where it hits. "Spread out again, I may have it." Then he'll...start running off in yet another direction. How bizarre.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Snowy Plains]
Wenomir runs off in the opposite direction. Hill looks like he has a plan, so he'll follow.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
As they walk, the trees get bigger and the canopy higher and thicker. There starts to be a lot more room between them as well. No sign of the drake, though. The most activity they see is when a bird lets off a started cry and flies off, deeper into the woods.
A short while after that, up a ways ahead in their path, two large lizards perch pressed against branches up above their heads. They blend in perfectly with the tree's bark. Should the two women walk underneath them, they'll each have a a dog sized lizard with wicked, curved claws descending toward them rapidly.

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
Float might be an more accurate description of the way the air elemental moves. "No, I'm simply projecting myself through a elemental. Keep an eye out though, those beasts will be nearby." Cessie won't notice the beasts however, but Cornelia's sharp eye might.
[Snowy Plains]
The three missiles comes towards them at full speed, but suddenly they start to divert from their course, namely they split into three different directions, two following Wenomir and Hill and the third one his sword. They will probably catch up with them pretty soon though considering they are moving quite fast.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Snowy Plains]
When the missile nears him, Wenomir spins around and makes a sweeping cut with his axe, attempting to cut it in half.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Snowy Plains]
Hill looks back over his shoulder and grins under the helmet. "Heat seekers!" He proceeds to do much the same as Wenomir, except his version consists of jerking to the side at the last second, trying to bash the rocket-thing down into the ground with his arm (with power-armored and already-augmented strength) and then shoot the downed thing repeatedly at point-blank with his plasma pistol.
His sword is just a sword and does nothing except stay put.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
Cornelia does notice the odd, perhaps tumorous lumps on each treebranch. She even looks up again, once they're closer, wondering what could ruin a tree like that.
Of course, now the lumps have become lizards, and one jumps down from its perch to attack. Nelia swears and throws up her arm to block the creature's descent, hopefully tossing it aside. Claws might still find purchase in her arm, however, if they can break the cured leather hide that makes up her duster.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
The elemental barely manages to dodge the beast only thanks to the fact it's considerably nimbler and quicker than it's summoner. It's not quite fast enough to do anything to barely dodge however, still caught in the surprise.
[Snowy Plains]
As the demon hunter swings around his blade and makes a high-pitched sound as metal clash against metal. The missile isn't quite as vulnerable as Hill's plasma weaponry have made it appear like however so even if the axe digs into it, it will still collide with the hunter. Unless it somehow misses it will once it collide press into him, the whole missile changing into one of those snake creatures he saw earlier and try to make contact with his bare skin, or any body openings (such as his eyes).
Hill will notice that the missile he's trying to punch out is acting pretty much the same way. Once he makes contact with it, it seemingly destroys itself and attempts to warp itself around his hand, moving up his arm in the hunt for bare skin to make contact with.

Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
The lizard's claws are sharp enough that they might cause some damage to her jacket, but they don't get any real purchase before the lizard tumbles to the side. It's an agile animal, though, and will be on its feet to menace her in no time at all.
Much like the first, the other lizard is up on its feet quickly after missing it's mark. It hisses at Elemental!Cessie and pounces at her.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Snowy Plains]
The thing won't find that easy, considering Hill proceeds to boost upwards again the moment he hits something that decidedly is not solid.
After which he proceeds to do the usual thing and rain plasma down on the thing he just left down there.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Snowy Plains]
The snake-like thing will have trouble with that, seeing as Wenomir's torso is covered in armor. When it tries to scramble upwards to reach his face, he swings his axe - to which the thing is presumably still attached - trying to smash it into the ground.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
Cornelia wastes no time. She takes a general aim at the lizard as it thrashes back into a fighting stance and tries to put it down before it can do any more harm than ruin her jacket. Nelia's fast, but aiming so reflexively tends to be a dodgy affair, especially with a revolver.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
The elemental, while not having much in defensive or offensive capabilities is very good at dodging things. It quickly moves to the side, letting the creature leap into empty air before giving it a blast of air, trying to make it fly into a tree.
[Snowy Plains]
Wenomir will find it difficult to smash off the thing as it's presently coiling around his arm. While he stops it from advancing, he won't actually get it off his arm, the creature just clinging on to his arm tighter.
Hill have an easier time though considering he got more advanced toys. The thing is blasted in plasma and melts down into a familiar looking pool of silver-like liquid.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
The bullet punches into the lizard's body and it makes a pained shrieking sound, but that only buys Cornelia a few extra seconds before it throws itself at her.
Cessie's lizard is tossed back and tumbles a bit, but it manages to dig its claws into the ground before it hits the tree.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Snowy Plains]
Wenomir responds by trying to grip the thing with his left hand and simply crush its neck in his gauntlet.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
A few extra seconds is more than enough. Cornelia draws a bead on the lizard and tries to put a few more rounds through its scaly hide. If it gets moving before she can kill it, however, the gunslinger's probably going to get toppled.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Snowy Plains]
After eliminating that one, Hill lands and moves toward where he threw his sword, aiming to deal with the one of the things he drew off with that stunt. Assuming he spots it, he will proceed to shoot at it a lot with the plasma pistol. It's not all that complicated, really.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Snowy Plains]
Yes, it's rather easy when you have a plasma gun isn't it? The second missile dies as easy as the first one. Melting down into a pool of liquid. Wenomir have more luck this time as he manages to grab on to the thing. It's quite slippery but seem to be a great deal softer then the missile he attempted to cut with his axe.
The creature wriggles around, trying to escape as he squeezes it's body. It feels like squeezing clay honestly and it appears to cause whatever it is some pain, letting go of his arm.
[The Forest]
The elemental quickly sifts itself away the beast towards Cornelia and her attacker and will blast it with wind if it leaps against Cornelia before she can shoot it. If she does, she have at least moved away from the one attacking her.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[The Forest]
The lizard manages to leap at Cornelia, but Cessie's quick thinking sends the beast flying. It doesn't get up again, so presumably one of those bullets put it down.
While they're distracted, however, the other lizard has vanished. With the trees all around, it's impossible to see where it's gone and if it might be stalking toward them this very second.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Snowy Plains]
Wenomir tries to throw the slippery thing on the ground and chop it in half with his axe.
-
Re: [Nexus] The Hunting Grounds
[Snowy Plains]
The thing is cut in two and stops moving, from what they can tell it appears to have died considering it's starting to melt as well. It's not the only one though, the entire field is right now bathing in the silvery liquid. It appears to be slowly sink into the ground and the snow surrounding them much like oil.
