I don't think that such an explanation appeared in the movie itself, nor the Force being shown to allow you to see a beam light-years away moving FTL in real time in any of the movies. Maybe the Force Sensitive characters got visions of the Hossian(?) system's destruction, but as far as we know at this point it adds up to Rey, Kylo, Snoke, and Luke.
Like, without any way to deduce it from the text is pretty much just 'a wizard did it'. Such an explanation might be in the novelisation, but it's still 'a wizard did it' because there's no setup.
