Is Inkscape all that easy to use? Because I've seen people do some amazing stuff with it.
Also what Tragic asked, specficily about the price.
It's free, easy to use and rather stable in relation to many other vector editing tools. It's a great tool, avatarist, artist, or neither.

Eon, it's unlikely that you'd find out why a woman would evade mind control by going through her jeans, but A+ for effort. :smallwink:

Nah, you'll be fine. It's pretty easy to pick up. See my avatar? I made that on something like my first(lolno. I don't know why I said that. More like 3rd -5th) try.
Also, HAI GAIZ. I have never been on a thread like this before, and I read through about 15 pages of the last thread before giving up. I could barely make it through 2 here. So what is going on?

Random stuff. I don't think we have a real train of conversation going on at the moment.
I cannot do Inkscape to save my life. No, I'm not going to try again.
Oh, and thanks to everyone who wished me to stay. I love you all too.
And no, there's no way I'll be completely and permanently cutting off the Playground. I probably will be on less though. Only time will tell.

Whatever you want to be going on. It shapes to your will.
I know it can be intimidating at first.
It's easy.
Also: I wonder if there's a waterfall somewhere that makes a permanent rainbow?

Nothing really, though sometimes it gets heavenly fast.

Shift for a perfect circle, a rectangle and 4 sticks, and that's pretty much it...
I could get a scholarship by Fireworking for about a week and then exposing my design to a jury, not worth it though, not like I wanted to go to Graphic Design anyway, but it just happened to pop up as a conversation topic on the Graphic Design course I'm taking.
I plan on doing that as well the month before the university admission exam. And during my whole stay through it.

Look at Blue's sig. Also, this discussion already has taken place, the conclusions were that love has three definitions, of which you may interpret whatever you wish so.

Three? I thought it was four, or maybe five.

Oh well then, apparently Eon wins :smalltongue:.
I realize that there are different ways to interpret and define the word, just none of my interpretations or definitions can be directed at Blue, because I don't know him very well .

Lewis had it at four.
Storge - Affection
Philia - Frienship
Eros - Romantic love
Agape - unconditional love

I made the decision long ago to try and love the whole world.

Wasn't it decided that two didn't really apply since they were rather anachronistic or extremely rare, or even inapplicable for most cases?

Storge (στοργή storgē[4]) means "affection" in ancient and modern Greek. It is natural affection, like that felt by parents for offspring. Rarely used in ancient works, and then almost exclusively as a descriptor of relationships within the family. It is also known to express mere acceptance or putting up with situations, as in "loving" the tyrant.
There is also one more which is hospitality love or something like that.

I, being a big One Piece fan, have the concept of Nakama. Essentialy, Nakama are friends closer then normal friends. People that you need, because in the end they make you whole.
Blue is one of my Nakama

Yay!
Yes, Lewis and most commentators have it at four.
I made the decision... Not that long ago. It's been six years since my redemption, and maybe a few more to fully realize what it meant. But anyway, I made that decision too! Let's love the world together, starting with the Playground!

I don't really recall how the discussion concluded.
I would still count storge as a type of love, as it's rather different from all the others, and the relationships within a family and other things that the word describes definitely count as love.
No idea about hospitality love.
The world is corrupt. Doesn't mean we shouldn't love it.

Blaaah! I do not wish to think to hard at this hour. Now I must retreat into the darkness that I rose from this morn and prepare for a new day of carnage and rampaging. Also, early morning water polo workouts are a pain.

Love the world as best as you can. Faltering is just another step on the path of life. As always, keep a chin up and relax.
Also, I find all this talk of love quite interesting considering, you know, that line from The Green Mile. Spoilers please, if you mention it.

Re: August's Pink Plushy and Phantasmagorically Random Banter Thread #166
It's been a while since I've read C.S. Lewis's The Four Loves, but I found his discussion of Philia quite interesting, though I'm not sure I agree with it. If I recall correctly, he says that the difference between Philia and Eros is that in Eros the lovers look toward each other, while in Philos the friends stand beside each other looking toward something beyond themselves. I have not experienced Eros, but in my friendships, my friends and I are always looking toward each other more than anything else. Does that mean that Lewis was wrong, or that I'm doing it wrong? I do sometimes want my friendships to be fixed on something external...

It means that by standing side by side, we look at at something bigger, and that bigger thing is the unity that we have as friends. So in a way, we are looking at ourselves while still being side by side.

In fact, it is the reason we should love it all the more.
I believe it was Aristotle who said the romantic love consisted of one soul inhabiting two bodies. But that definition is problematic as well.

So much truth.
The book is from 1995 and the movie from 1999, why would one ever need to spoiler something that old?

That's your perception, the actual workings beyond the scope of a system of which you are part of prevent you from noticing that you see more since you consider it usual sight.

It was also him that said we had three souls, so probably a new, shared one wouldn't hurt.

I highly contest that the book is better, actually. The movie really does move me quite heavily, and I feel that it does the book justice.
Essentialy, it is what happened when a Stephen King book transitions to movie in a good way.
