Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
"I think that would be kind of obvious," Hour Tales says with a slight chuckle as he features morph back to his normal form, producing an odd sound in the middle as vocal cords shift mid-sentence. "We'll get a bunch of funny looks, I'm sure, but that's probably the extent of it. Besides, I've never fully felt comfortable here," he adds.

Alright, you can each make a gnosis roll for when you step sideways, and then I will dictate what is happening.

Poor poor Homid and his tiny tiny Gnosis. :smallwink:
Soft paws seems skilled enough that she could conclude the following. Stepping sideways always varies on how strong it is to pass the gauntlet. In areas where the weaver is strong, such as the city, it is always difficult to step sideways. This place however... is much less difficult. Perhaps harder than the woods or certain places where the wyld is stong, but no more difficult than if you were in your suburban basement. Considering it's in the heart of the weaver... that is significant to you.
Hour-tales of course recognizes non of this. He apparently hates stepping sideways.
As the two step side ways, the light shifts spectrum. There was light in the Umbra, but the lights are off in the physical world. A dim light can been seen underneath the crack of the bathroom door.
Do you find the light switch first, or just open the door?
Also, did you choose the men's bathroom or the women's? They're identical in appearance, but it might matter when you come out.
And finally, you both have that ritual that allows you to not be naked, correct?

hahaha, I can't believe I forgot that. Certainly, one of our packmates helped us with the Rite of Talisman Dedication for just such an occasion? Right?
Softpaws feels less self-conscious leaving the women's restroom, so chose that one to Step Sideways in. Hoping to draw as little attention as possible, she would opt to not turn the light on before exiting, having keen enough senses to not trip over anything in the dark.

Until further notice, you both have a "I owe the story teller a favor" mark on your butt. :smallwink:
Let's say Jack Daw put it on you two, so now it's used up.
Also for the record, we may have lost the players, but the character could still exist. They would just take on a more NPC role. For example, Xian might come back to play Deep fang eventually, but even if he doesn't then he's still the alpha until someone challenges him. Or I at least give him a good death. He would just take a more paws off approach to things, splitting up the pack more and never going on away missions.
As you crack open the bathroom door, your eyes adjust quickly. For better or worse, the place is really slow. The place is a Bar/restaurant as mentioned before. At the end of the bar is a bartender who appears to be talking to two patrons. He appears to be in his late fifties, balding with weathered skin. As the door opens, his head turns in your direction. One of the patrons he was talking to sits at the bar, a tall athletic woman with long raven colored hair in a pony tail, and blue eyes that shoot in the direct of the bathroom immediately. The other patron, sitting at a table next to the bar doesn't immediately notice the opening door, a man with messy red hair, a face full of freckles and beady eyes.
To the side you can hear at least two voices in the side room, one male and one female. And of course, the smell of meat is much stronger now. Having not eaten your stew that soft paws made, you both find yourselves slightly hungry.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Jason steps out of the restroom, following Softpaws out of it, acting slightly embarrased that he was seen leaving it. The smell of the meat hanging throughout the bar makes his stomach growl.

I'd say that he'd have to be at least mid-twenties. Why?

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Its a part bar, so your age matters slightly. Soft paws I distinctly remember a 15 year old girl. And I thought jason was a in his late teens. But if he's in his mid twenties, that's fine too unless you just made the first change a within a few years

No, as for the first change I'd say that it was around 13 or 14. He's just been very engrossed in his human life, which leads to his lack of experience as a Garou.
Though him being in his mid-twenties and Softpaws being 15 causes some certain problems with their cover story and I doubt that he'd go along with it.
-
Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Yes, Softpaws is a fifteen year old girl, and she looks it. She blushes, leaving the dark bathroom followed by her packmate. While she doesn't make eye contact with anyone, she does scan the area and pay attention to exits. Cautiously, she approaches the front of the restaurant.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
The red head finally notices you two as you emerge, looks you over for a moment and says "Good for them". He then turns back to the drink he was looking at, and takes two quick drinks. "Better. More alcohol." He says comically.
The bar tender sees that Softpaws is walking in his direction, and closes his mouth. It had been hanging open in surprise. He looks at you and clears his throat but seems to be looking for the right words. Suddenly the woman leans over and whispers something to him. He turns back and says "No, do you?"
"You don't find it odd..." She says quietly to him before turning to face the two of you.
The red head finishes his glass in front of him, before saying ""I think I'll try this lager of yours too." But he stops and notices the other two look concerned. Taking a drink of the Lager, he mutters with a tint of eager violence in his tone "Should we be concerned about those two?"
-
Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Jason follows Softpaws, trailing a few steps back before quickening his stride to walk beside her. He looks around quickly as he hears the reactions of the others around, studying the red headed man out of the corner of his eye.
"Any idea where Craig and Sam are?" he whispers slightly, referring to the two packmates that had disappeared when they were transported into the Umbra by their human names. "They were supposed to meet us here, I think," he adds a bit too quickly.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Softpaws swallows nervously. She has a hunch, and, well, she's gonna act on it.
Approaching the cluster of three people, she sniffs idly, attempting to catch a whiff of any Wyrm presence. Though, unless she's off her mark, there won't be any.
"That meat smells delicious. Um, my friend and I don't eat pork. It-it isn't pork, is it? We, well, we don't eat pork because its disrespectful to Uncle Boar, y'know? Um," she nervously stumbles over her words -- they were so much clearer and made so much more sense in her head! Still, the lure was out there, now she just had to awkwardly blush at them and see if anyone was gonna bite.

Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
The Bartender continues to smile at you, and motions at a table to sit. "Ah, he said some of his children were coming today. I assumed it was these two." He laughs. "No, no pork products here. Even the hot dogs are all beef. Can I get you two some burgers and fries? You look hungry?"
-
Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
"Yes, please," Jason says as he takes a glance back at the two people that the bartender indicated.
-
Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Softpaws beams at the bartender, clearly pleased with herself, "I'd love some."
She cuts a curious glance over at the other pair of people, trying to noyice anything that stands out about them.
-
Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
The bartender leaves you two alone for a moment as he steps back into the kitchen to order your burgers. You become aware there are two males, and a female waitress in the side room who have been chatting and unaware of your presence so far.
The two remaining patrons stare awkwardly at you for a moment. Then the woman takes a drink of her rum-and-coke and mutters to herself "It's always pleasant to feel expected and welcome."
-
Re: IC Werewolf:TA-Chicago
Jason takes a brief glance at the two men and the waitress chatting before turning back around. He attempts at focusing in on their conversation through the sounds of the bar.
