Actually now that I think about it... Dracomancer
Or Treasuremancer
arguemancer
As a librarian, I'm already a Findamancer.

But I'd love to be a Sudsamancer: able to make hot water, foaming bath salts and fluffy towels appear on command.

Hmm
Awesomaster.
I'd probably choose to be a Betamancer. all kinds of spells, only they're experimental and slightly erratic. also ridden with bugs. as soon as one of them becomes perfected, i can't use it anymore.
morningtoncresentamancer
or cthulumancer
Has pr0nomancer been used yet?
Otherwise baconmancer.
I'd be an claustromancer. I can control tight spaces and make people think the walls are closing in.
Mancermancer. So I can control all the others.
I'd totally be a Naughtimancer. ;-)
P.S. -mancy means "study of," not "control over." People who control the dead are not necromancers. Coroners are necromancers. meaning of -mancy A better stem would be something like -ductor. Necroductor would be a commander of the dead.
Gravimancer- The ability to form minature black holes that I -of course- am immune to. But you are not.
Cookiemancer. With Summon Cookie Ally, Create Holy Cookie, Cure Cookie-Caused-Indigestion, etc spells.
Beastamancer. For some odd reason, animals readily trust me and tend to come over to make friend with me.
I'd be a thinkomancer. Psionic abilities, here I come! :smallamused:
Hmm....that's a hard one...
Lessie...
Gameomancer
Drawomancer
Mathsomancer
Technomancer
And quite a few more. Multiclass for quite a few -mancers for me.
This is a great thread. I love how long-lived it is.
Not to be a tease, but I will admit that some of you have named some of the magical disciplines which exist in Erfworld.
But not all of them end in "-mancy." Think outside the magical cabinet.
Cardomancer
magical tarot cards are awesome!
Actually, no. -mancy actually means "divination". Says so on the page you linked. Necromancy was originally contacting the dead to learn things/predict the future/etc, before fantasy turned it into zombies and such. For example, oneiromancy is divination via dreams, practiced by (among others) Joseph in the Bible.
Coroners aren't necromancers. They might be necrologists - -ology is "study of".
Omnimancer.
Oh, yeah, I went there.
I'm still a fan of neckromancer, though.
Best way to inflict a fear spell ever!
-Jedi
Cryomancer! So I could freeze stuff!
Cartomancers, yes. Gotta remember that most of this stuff (outside of Erfworld, anyway) uses Greek/Latin roots.
I'd have to be the SaucyPiratomancer. The ability to perform piracy and still make saucy, snarky comments to the ladies.
Alternatives:
Pornomancer - self-explanatory
Elvismancer - summons illusionary Elvises ... what? Why do you think there's still so many sightings?
Cheesymancer - the ability to summon and control all forms of cheese! Yes, ALL FORMS! Mwuhahaha!
Chromomancer - arcane might directed at chroming-out any Harley within 100 miles.
Mastermancer - he who pwns all games.
Spectromancer? Romancing the EM spectrum. . .
Or maybe Graphamancer or Glyphomancer, a magican of the written word. Gives a new meaning to "spellcaster", heh heh.
Or Negamancer, which could involve opposites, negations or even negative magic. Whatever that is.
Things that sound fun, but I couldn't possibly be:
Rotamancer, Creepymancer, Metamancer, Exomancer, Endomancer, Cancermancer, Cryptamancer, Fortimancer, Lancermancer, Matamancer. ("Mat" meaning death.)
S'morcerer - Summons the might of chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers.
