TV Tropes page? After all, ThereIsNoSuchThingAsNotability.
Only trope I can think of though is OurWerewolvesAreDifferent

Baddass bookworm, Disability Superpower(possibly Eyescream as well), Did Not Do The Research(Averted), Cute Little Fangs.
And that's just the ones off the top of my head.
I guess you're right. I knew the grease fire fit in somewhere, but I couldn't remember were, and I could swear that I've seen that trope averted, but showing your work does fit better.
An argument could also be made for Male Gaze.
Huh, I guess TV Tropes would be a good idea, since I know I've wasted at least a couple days of my life wandering around on there, but I'm not sure if I've got enough content to put myself out there yet. I think I'll do a couple more chapters first before worrying about that.
Also, I'm not sure if I should be the one making the page. Wouldn't that be kind of like tooting my own horn? I also kind of want to see other people find tropes within my stuff that I'm not aware of.
But yeah, probably half the Shounen tropes are in there. This is pretty much a love letter to Shounen manga.
@Tono: Not a big spoiler, and heavily hinted at in the current chapter so I'll just go ahead and say it. Yes, the uses are limited. The bar itself is divided into 5 slots for Ocular Blade, and he's used one slot up already for using the spell. That's about all the information I can give away at the moment though.
EDIT: Reading TV Tropes regularly has given me a lot of inspiration, actually. Seeing what other people have done with their stories gives me ideas, and seeing some of the Trope Overdosed pages just makes me feel awe for people who can stuff so much effort and ideas into their work.
On the Bibliography, reading Right to Left:
First Circle: Symbolic representation of Codice.
Second Circle: Spell number.
With 5 uses per spell.
Pretty powerful.
Also, I'll tell my friends on the Codice of the Masque.
Facebook.
Ah, thank you for reminding me. More specifically, it's TelepathicSprinklers that was averted.
Well, that, and the fact that water makes grease fires worse.
Also, from the cover page, possible codices and powers:
Alien: Telepathy?
Tree: Plant growth?
Ghost: Intangibility?
SHADOW PAGE: PLOT DEVICE.
Hourglass: Time.
Star of David: Sound financial advice?
Lightning/Barbell: No idea.
Pumpkin: Nightmares?
Taurus: Super Strength?
Flower thing: No idea.
Water: Waterbending. Possibly the Atlantis Codex (23, Power of mermen).
The Sanguine Codex: Vampires. Must drink blood to maintain power, must be invited into homes, cannot cross running water.
Bars: No idea.
Spikes: No idea.
The Holy Codex, Codex 77: I'm guessing Librarians. "The powers of angels..." Need to pray daily. Unable to break laws that have jurisdiction over them.
Skull: Necromancy.
The All-Seeing Eye, Codex 142: Ocular powers. That's the number on the Abyssal's chest. "The powers of eyedolls..." Give up sight to use 'third and fourth eyes.'
Moon: Werewolves. Cannot come into contact with silver, power waxes and wanes with the moon.
So. Awesome.
Maybe an "Ink" codex which can mimic the shapes and codex powers of others?
Current Spells:SpoilerAll-Seeing Eye Lexicon:Lunar Lexicon:Spoiler02 Lensflash: Flash of light. Blinds. Variation: Lensflash Array: Multitude of rays.
07 Blink: Teleports within eyesight.
40 Ocular Knuckles: Creates brass knuckles with spikes and eyes.
41 Ocular Blade: Creates blade. With eyes on it.Spoiler23 Lycannon: Shoots a wolf from the hand.
28 Warg Wave: 3 Claws attack from ground.
Added a bit, but now Prime32's hogging all the fun. :smalltongue:
I'll help out too.
Makes sense, but I was thinking more like groups:
00-10: Various minor tricks.
40-49: Weapons.
Like that, seeing as 40 and 41 are both Ocular Weapons, and 02,07 are not that powerful by themselves.
On the TvT page:
The Female is wearing a thing white shirt.
Should be:
Eve is wearing a thin white shirt.
Also, aren't there supposed to be links to the page of the example? I haven't Troped long...
No problem
...when was Lycannon? (Confused)

Over here.
EDIT: Tavar was too fast. :smallfrown:
Oooh. I checked 4. XD
Look better at the ghost in question. The power is obviously quasi-invulnerability.
SpoilerYou can only be vainquished by someone having an active power pellet, and even if you are killed, your eyes will just flitter away to the center of the city and then you respawn.
Ooh, I missed that. Awesome. Which one do you think is the Devil? I think that sort of conflicts with the whole 'Abyssals are Pages gone bad' thing, if there is a codex for Abyssals... oh, I see what you did there. But which picture?
On the TVtropes page: You should replace OurMonstersAreDifferent with OurWerewolvesAreDifferent, or at least add the second one too. And DisabilitySuperpower works for the other Codicis as well.
Try again, the star has a circle around it, looking more like a Seal of Solomon.
No, Disability superpower doesn't work for any currently revealed Codex other than Ocular, which is on tenuous ground anyway (there's no indication that their eyes don't work, just that they don't use them) because it's about the Disability being overcome by the superpower in some fashion. Only the Ocular Codex requires getting a disability for superpowers. Everyone else gains powers on specific conditions (the Lunar Codex has it's pages lose their powers during the new moon for example)
So you think
