Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
I made half of a comic but now my attention has been taken by a super secret special project. I'll try to finish it as soon as I can though, but the super secret special project comes first.
-
Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
I can try and put something together tonight, but only after I've finished Remember's update.

YAY! Our project is special AND SUPER SECRET!
I want to give a hint, but at the same time I don't want to jinx it. I guess this post alone already kinda spoils something. :smalltongue:
And I'll make an ABR comic once Mask and Keveak finish theirs, because they have both requested that I don't mess with coninuity. I'm also waiting for Skimmer to respond, but I grow more and more worried that he might not respond.

Well, you're working on it... which means something about it is incredibly weird.

Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
What, no storm of "you were gone?"'s? Why, I am almost insulted :smalltongue:
Also, how is Future Imperfect doing these days? Legally dead already or are some people still planning on continuing it?
-
Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
I'm planning on continuing it.
-
Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
Future Imperfect is dead. I may produce a webcomic based on it eventually, however. Don't hold your breath, it's going to be in a year at the very least, once my artwork is capable of handling more realistic styles.

Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
I am not letting it die.
I may have to perform a bit of revisionist surgery, but my next comic for it should allow its resurgence.

Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
And I will most likely get off my lazy streak and finish a comic or two soon as well. Just you wait!
It will have silly Kobolds, and possibly silly hats too.

Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
Wich reminds me I have a giant robot to dodge and a kobold to hit ont he noggin

Understandably. My main computer broke like a month ago and since then I was stuck with my backup one that can barely handle even a web browser....trying to run inkscape was unthinkable. I just got it back a few days ago with hard disc completely wiped out and I'm still in the process of retrieving all my lost software for animation....I kinda hoped nobody notices that I'm gone for the time being:smallfrown:

Good to hear that. I blame myself for willingly letting it die last time and I'm still ashamed for it....

Oh that's a shame. If you want, I could make some kind of excuse in my next comic as to why you're character isn't killing us or whatever (it'd probably be that she just leaves without explanation to "attend to other matters", but it's better then just having her sit and say nothing until you fix your computer problems. :smallfrown:

One could probably say that. But I disagree. :smallamused:

Not going to be able to make my FI comic tonight, so I'm afraid you'll have to wait a little while, but with luck it should be ready and presentable before Tuesday.

Oh, isn't that just quaint. The guy who came up with the DENIMANCER (a guy who manipulates magical denim of all things), who also was in a setting populated by Kirby from Nintendo and a talking cat, is calling MY concepts weird. :smalltongue:

At least Denimancy is slightly more original than Pokemon island and 'God-like creature from beyond time and space itself.'

Hey, I've just introduced a walking coconut into the RK plot, and you're not calling me weird...
*sulks in corner with coconut*
EDIT:
Aha, a comic uploaded by me in a different style - a style I shall be trying to use constantly from now on, just need to perfect speech bubbles...

More original than a necromancer on a fantasy fancomic forum? :smalltongue:

Super-god beings have been around since the dawn of humanity's intelligence. Internet forums have only been around for... what, ten, twenty years? Maybe sixty if you count the entire internet's life cycle?
Even when you consider that information has swelled at 1000% of it's original speed with the advent of the 'net (or maybe it was just 200%) that's just 600 years.
Also, the Manaborn is an original concept (mostly because it's needlessly complicated and very overpowered - A level 1 manaborn can cast 7th level spells one day out of the week with their current design.) as is the idea that an angel would not only try to redeem a lich against higher orders, but would be (mostly) successful.

Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
Okay, my upcoming comic (which is about 2.5 times the length of most of Remember's comics...) should provide a useful macguffin for both the UNA and the ALF forces.
After that, I don't really mind how serious/silly things are kept, since it's a discrete quest (one that shouldn't attract global attention or justify mass mobilisation of forces) that most people should be able to enjoy.

Anticipation... building....
Endorphins... rushing...
Bladder... filling...
Train of thought... unaccounted for...

Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
Phew, that was a big one indeed.
So as I see the primary goal for ALF is to retrieve the Janni engineer's remains, most probably for resurrection to use him and his knowledge as leverage against Ins and the UNA overall. For the UNA, it's most likely to either eliminate the remains to prevent such leverage.
Either side could also be out to retrieve the remains of the craft to use towards their own goals, including to advance technology on Avbaroy (for personal, national, or ulterior motives) or to simply flee the planet.
Regardless which way you decide your character(s) should use the crash site when they find it, it will be a dangerous element in the UNA's dominion and a powerful weapon against the UNA for the ALF, but it mostly depends on who gets there first, how, and what they decide to do with it all.
As for how others learn of its existence in the Northern Lochs, I'd say probably from a briefing given by Lying in one of his moments of clarity, or perhaps someone manages to cure him of his ailment, or maybe UNA technology discerns the wreckage during a global geological survey or somesuch. The possibilities are virtually endless.
In short, with the crash site in place, ABR can return to a state very similar to FFF: Two sides, common target, individual motivations and motives to get there, with a long span of geography to cover with hijinks and conflicts.

$5 says that this still doesn't change anything about FI being dead. Five imaginary "gloaty" dollars, obviously. :smalltongue:

Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
So Future Imperfect is back? Let me just get in character for the appropriate response.
*Puts on patched coat and dirt-covered hat*
Oh my gods! This is the best thing I've ever seen in my LIFE! :D
*Takes off hat and coat*
The response has been delivered.
On another note, there is a semi-explanation in my comic for why Skimmer has yet to maim and kill. But it's mostly a one panel gag.
-
Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
FI, eh? Hmm, tempted, very tempted...
BTW, Q, read your ABR character creation guides - entertaining and insightful, and given me a few ideas.
Oh, and is anyone archiving the Miridia stuff, or are we just keeping it as an exulted Random Kill place?
