He's a bit younger than that, but he does have the accent you'd expect.

Pick up that phone because I CALLED IT. :smallcool:

Previous player?
That's my best no context guess.

Oh, no, just called that people would like the remains in order to identify the body. :smalltongue:

‘Not wanting to interfere with a potential crime scene’ is also a valid response Gnomes. :smalltongue:

Impossible. That would mean someone other than me was being reasonable, and that doesn't sound right. :smalltongue:

That's fair. I'm known for being exceptionally unreasonable, unless reason is involved.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
I just realised that, because Pinklady exercised alongside Sport's training, I misremembered her as also having a "three levels per day" limit that would prevent her from training a different Pokemon same-day. :smalltongue:

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
... Darn it, we're interviewing pokemon and Mark isn't there to be the universal translator for pokespeech. Curse my unyielding desire for sweet, sweet free levels. :smallsigh:

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
It's okay. Unless this Honchkrow is really good at pantomime and mimicry, the we're probably going to need to wait for a psychic type to help.

You’re probably going to have to wait for the translator; her human speech mimicry is mostly limited to movie quotes and such.

How much should we be role playing our Pokemon too? I'm not quite sure if they're full NPCs, or partial player characters?
If they are Pokémon that obey you completely (which all your starting Pokémon are by default) you can roleplay them if you like. There will be situations where that is not the case (the big, obvious one being if they get Shadowed), but I’ll try to make those obvious. There will also be situations where I may yoink control temporarily because, for example, your Pokémon with night vision sees something you can’t and I need to convey that to you. And there will be other times you catch Pokémon that won’t obey after capture for one reason or another (EX: we had a previous player who actually stole Pokémon off a Grunt), those Pokémon will generally be under DM control.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
Gotcha. I'll feel free to role-play my Pokemon in my posts, though I hope that you won't feel as though you shouldn't also role play them whenever you'd like. I assume that if I did end up convincing this Honchkrow to join us, she would be the kind of Pokemon that wouldn't automatically obey? (Higher level and previous trainer?)
Anyway, I'll try to send you a list of a few personality traits for each member of the team, and a full backstory for Less at some point in the next few days, if you're interested.

Yes, just a little. Scan her with the Pokédex and you’ll see she’s level 36 now (she leveled up when she was purified).

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
I think I'm going to have Less talk to the Honchkrow for a bit longer in character, but I don't want to hold anyone up OOC if I can avoid it. I imagine that no matter how this conversation goes, Less is probably going to head back to the hill with Pinklady, if we don't mind some parallel timelines?
-

Works for me. I don't promise I will get that up tonight but I will get that started.

Gorman, WindStruck didn't want the Mining Kit so I'm adding it back to your inventory.

essCee, If you want to roll-play a conversation during the walk, I'm all for it. I just didn't want to split the timeline further without asking you or our DM.
KI, let me know if I shouldn't already have Buck out for this scene. He hasn't been his Pokeball yet, so I figured it would be okay, but I can retcon that if you'd like. Also, what's the weather like at the moment?
Having Buck out is fine, you guys can split the timeline for conversational purposes if you like.
Re: weather, the rain stopped just before you left.
Also, note for everyone: I will be on vacation starting the end of next week, and gone for about a week and a half. I am going to try to get everyone to the group meetup (so you can at least talk to each other while I'm out), but if I can't do that naturally, don't be surprised if some time next Thursday I skip everyone over to the meetup whether you're done with your current activities or not.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
I hope you have a great vacation, KI!
EssCee, I'm going to hold off and let you post first, if you'd like.

How are Taillow and Pyrofyl? Is the latter still exhausted and the former still.... featherless? :(

Oops, I didn't see this before I posted... good thing it was you offering to hold off rather than asking for me to wait. Thank you! I should really make sure to check this OOC thread as religiously as I check the RPG one. :smalltongue:

Pyrofyl will recover from the stat damage in another two days, Taillow has another three days being ground-bound. I will make a note on Taillow for that (Pyrofyl already has one).
EDIT:
And we've been jumping around a lot, so if I missed something you need me to reply to, please speak up.

Re: Adventures in Helnith: Assault on the Town of Ash (OoC)
That went much better than expected. I honestly was expecting that one of them was a secret officer or something. Glad it worked out. And we have a jeep!

Last officer we encountered nearly killed us all :P

But we still got the bugger, we did! Showed him the what-for and all that. And we only had three party member breakdowns! Two of which were relatively momentary. Absolutely worth it. :smallcool:
... But yeah, one of the officers has a Milotic that knows surf and almost party-wiped us and multiple player-controlled NPC's/ destroyed a pokemon center by itself, so maybe we shouldn't poke too many of the officers in the face. Maybe.

You guys are making me really glad this was just a grunt and a dude in a labcoat.
. . . right up until I remembered Less is probably going to suggest poking an officer in the face as the next objective after we deal with the immediate plot. :smalleek:

If you mean the guy with the Naedire that Shadowed half our Pokemon, that guy was just a Taskmaster.
But the one with the Milotic was an Officer, yes.
