It means that our styles are very recognizable, as is Saturn's and Derjuin's. Mine is because of my preference for curved bodies, as well as shading, yours because of your details, Saturn's is just... recognizable, and Derjuin's is the most recognizable thing ever.
Like, of all time.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase IV
I don't think I actually qualify as a "consistent avatarist", but I'd like to see you complain about my avatars. *lofty laugh*
I find it interesting how my avatars are so recognizable. I guess I'm failing at being close to the Giant's artwork. :smalltongue:

Oh dude, it's freaking on.
[CRITIC]
I dislike your current avatar for multiple reasons. For one, I can't tell what the pose is. I feel as if he should be holding something in his hand, as his other arm isn't thrown out for balance, instead preferring to hold onto an umbrella.
In addition, that arm on the umbrella looks odd. Really odd. Like, "How is he holding that?" And I think he should have a mouth.
[/CRITIC]
By 'consistent' I mean you have a style that you stick with. Like I do, and August does.

The pose is of a person skipping with an umbrella, much like the photo in the spoiler. And "he" is a female. Planets don't have mouths. :smalltongue:
But in any case, the avatar was drawn by Dr. Bath. I suppose I should credit him again. My style is much like this however.

My style is by no means consistent, I jump through pastel and feathery shadow without edges to the usual style but with shape shadowing, and sometimes when I'm lazy pastel without shadowing. And if it was for the amount of details, the only thing I can say is that although I do them, my favourite avatar is on e of the simplest them all.

A style (as much as such a thing can be defined, I suppose) is not only definined by the way you draw but also by the way you imagine and place the subject (by that I mean, pose and design). and on that i've noticed you are rather 'consistent'
For exemple, as far as I can tell many of you avatars (on the top of my head, I can think of two exceptions but that's about it) have a very similar pose. Standing right up, not moving, usualy almost alway seen from front and with a simple smiling/facial expression expression.

Hooray for consistency. Am I really failing at being "each avatar unique"? I'd like to think so; I'm only now starting to experiment with new poses.

Didn't turn out like I imagined in my head.

Very very nice. I wish I could draw like that.
(Not really OOtsish per se (the last one remind me a bit of an erfvatar), though. Dunno if they fit in that thread.)

Two of the first yes. Gwen and Rain is the second one, and Phedre (black and red) is the third. The first was my Genderbent Gwen avatar. These two are better than the first one.

Consistent style? I can't really remember the last time I updated a template. My newer ones are slightly better than my older ones, though. I add more details. I have a few I want to post when I get on my art computer.

Sort of new avatar, it's a remake of one I posted on...page 3 of this thread. I'll use it for a bit, to test it out, but I'll probably stroll back to casually-dressed V after a while.

Made another Picture/Avatar combo.
Should the skin on the second picture be lighter? What about the Hair? Do you think the parting in the middle of the second picture does not fit in?

Nice one Derj. I finally got around to making my avatar of Wayward Vagabond.

Planning on making John next. First with his really cool green jacket, and then with his God Tier stuff.
Finished John with his cool jacket.

There is no part in the second picture. It looks like he has a mohawk.

^ Very nice.
Maybe I should start drawing big too. 120 by 120 is a small canvas size...
ALSO just read this and didn't feel like dedicating an entire new thread to what one person has to say when there are probably tons of these on the web but I just wanted to share, especially in this thread and part of the Playground.

Looks nice, the head might be a little small for the body. And I'm not a fan of too many colored/missing lines. But those are both more personal preferences than anything. :smalltongue:
Another character design.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase IV
I really like the pose, but the eyes being different is a bit odd and one arm doesn't have a sleeve on it so I think it blends in a little to much.
But, I do really like the pose, it's a nice action-y type. :smallcool: And I really like the clothing and the hair.

Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase IV
I needs help on character design.
Below are some of the character templates I plan to use for a comic; these are like the default poses with which I sculpt into a pose that I need. Looking at them again, I find that I hate the guy in the middle's hair. We'll call him Ben. The girl is named Aria, and the other guy in the left corner is Izia. He's supposed to be a bartender, and no he's not evil. That's more of a duelist's goatee. The sword still needs work to make it look more like a protagonist sword. The sword is supposed to be a bastard sword, not a greatsword, more like the English longswords in real life, so the blade is supposed to be thinner. I'd like to keep all the color schemes, but if not that's ok too.
http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/...g?t=1298849769
Could I please have thoughts/opinions/suggested changes?

Yes I did. Thank you.
...Are they really that good? To me they seem like my normal works. I just put a little more thought in them because they are characters in a story and a little more effort in them by drawing them out first on paper.
