Ah, I totally was not getting this. I thought Paladins of Kago were a separate order from paladins of Astrid.
Now I'm no longer confused by Ethan calling Lloyd a Paladin of Kago when he already knew Lloyd worshipped Astrid...

Ah, good. So what do you think of these developments?

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
This update snuck up on me. I should check on this thread more often.
It'll be interesting to see what led to Lloyd being so open minded. I never thought I would see a Paladin who was interested in another deity, let alone all of the other deities. Also, Janine might actually leave him alone, now. :smallamused:

But it's old-style Lawful Good. "That Orc baby will become Evil... *sklott*!" "You detect as Evil... *skewer*!"
The one where, as the Munchkin's Guide to Power-Gaming reminds us, Paladins as paragons of virtue and holiness end up being unfavorable compared to the Hitler Youth... :smalleek:

(Shudder)
That THING is no paladin... it's not even a dwarf. It is an abomination against the alignment Lawful Good. [/rant]
...Go Lloyd. That's a CMoA right there.
Also, Deadpan Snarker, if he wasn't one already.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
This mindset belongs to Warhammer 40,000. Where murdering innocents is actually considered Good-aligned because everything is out to kill you in this universe and showing mercy always equals an entire star system becoming overrun by bloodthirsty daemons.

And racism is hatred for no reason...
Although, do the Plavaans have their own pantheon, or just one god? Do they still follow this god that did something bad? These are the important questions...
...huh. So that makes Lloyd Commissar Gaunt. The one truly good leader... (Grin) I like it.

Racism isn't 'hatred for no reason', racism is a judgement made based on a person's race, positive OR negative. The idea that a racist view can only be a negative one to start with ('this guy is stupid because he's an orc, etc is considered racist' while 'this guy is nice because he's a goblin' should be but is not) is absolutely appalling.
*huff huff huff*

Lloyd, like Janine, is devoutly religious. The difference is that Lloyd considers it worth his time to actually study other religions and religious texts himself rather than hear the secondhand opinions, so he can be more educated in that matter.

Yeah, pretty much.

THEN PUT IT ON THE TVTROPES PAGE! That thing needs a lot of updating as it is.

Maybe it's just me but I don't think it was awesome enough to qualify as a CMoA :smallconfused: Awesome? Yes. But not really a crowning moment =/

Somehow I feel Astrid's very happy that he does that.

Who knows? Paladins and clerics only fall if they make the god go  or  or :furious:

My bad, I expected Astrid to care about the research of truth. I ask too much from deities sometimes. :smalltongue:

No, that would be Isarus and Don.

Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
No seriousness, The comic is pretty good JUST AVOID SUES. In terms of literary criticism I would personally do a through discussion of innate evil VS Gained evil and the Possibilities of each outcome and the moral replies of each character.
Like the Goblins Seem exist only to show how good they are. Just show the flipside of the coin, goblins which are as infamous as the legends about them and how the stereotype causes the entire species to suffer. But Thats just me.
But Mostly Im A wuss. Unable to concentrate and all my work is garbage. And in my attemps to criticize others I mask the major insacurities of my life....WAAAAAAHH Im A FAILURE:smallfrown:!
Edit: Plus Everybody seems to be going " Orc Gods/ Goblins/ Dragons? Oh How preposterous! Oh What is that you say lad? They not evil? Nonsense, how come you haven fallen yet!" It Kinda gets old. Sorry if I offend you.

It gets old when people do it in real life too-but they haven't stopped yet. :smallamused:
I'd assume that's Coffee's point.

Man, I hope not. I'm pretty sure real world political and/or religious discussion is against the rules.

Thanks, Spekter. I'm sorry though, some of what you're saying is a bit hard for me to understand.

Eh, none of the people in the group are Plavaan.

I'm referring to the "as if somehow they were equal to Astrid" comment.
No, Lloyd, unfortunately paladins don't have a Cure Headache power.

That's Janine's bigotry showing.

Sorry, but this is the team. And yes, I have a name for them other than Lloyd and Co. It will be revealed in a few strips.

Good to see some flaw other than "can't stop thinking about it - and acting about it too."
I'd like to see some flaw in Lloyd though. I know he's supposed to be the wisened repentant, but I find him sort of dull.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 4 (4 Times The Mayhem!)
Ok, That story time comment was pretty cute.
Did Janine and Radic used to live somewhere that was strongly secular (I'm a little confused about the No Missionaries comment)?

Janine has a lot more flaws than just that.
Lloyd is extremely hard on himself--And just as secretive. He can't forgive himself, he can't ever cut himself any slack.

Radic's family didn't want any missionaries coming to their home.

One will come eventually.
