In 672, just before "conjuring" his familiar, V is looking at Mr Scruffy and Belkar together with what seems a "deep in thoughts" look on her face. Never noticed before and might be what prompted her change of heart regarding Blackwing, amongst other things.

Actually, it's looks like normal tea. :smallconfused:

Which, as others have noted, would fulfil the "friendly contact with an evil outsider"clause necessary for Tarquin to have become a Blackguard (if he in fact is one).

Awwwwww! Belkar helped V be a better elf!

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
I only just noticed all the gods in the comic are color-coded for your convenience. The Northern gods have a yellow aura. The Southern gods have a blue aura. In the crayon drawings, the Western gods have a red aura and the now-extinct Greek pantheon of the Eastern gods had a green aura.

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
In 639, we see that Vaarsuvius's mate and children live on the same continent as Tarquin and Ian.
-
Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
That makes sense, since they live in the Elven Lands. Cool.
I just noticed that Celia's and Roy's moms both want grandchildren.

In panels 2-3 the hobgoblin general takes about 1d6 damage

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
I just noticed that the title for 879 might refer to Rich running out of steam with the recent updates in a row and not Belkar's level of blood, though I guess it could be both.

One of the human prisoners in panel 2 has an annoyed look on his face. Furthermore, he matches the art for the polymorphed goblin spy we learn about later (admittedly he's not the only one). Maybe he's the spy, annoyed that he could have just stayed as a hobgoblin (based on the conversation they were having in panel 2)?
More speculation than spot check perhaps

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
The Order of the Stick's and Order of the Scribble's dwarves died almost exactly 600 strips apart.
And would've been off by exactly the same amount (877-276 = 600+1; 875-276 = 600-1) if Rich had not needed to memorialize Gygax and Arneson RIP.
:smallconfused:"Wait, didn't Kraagor die long before..."
 "NOT THE POINT!"

"...a good person."

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
OOTS #543, in the first panel of the second page, Jirix is leaning back, scared of getting accidentally hit with Xykon's paralyzing touch.

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
Strip #398 is titled "We All Just Want to be Held Sometimes". I just realized this wasn't just about the group hug, but that Thog also got "held"... with Hold Person.

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
And another thing...
Did anyone notice that Mr. Scruffy's legs where originally black lines... and that's only later, after Belkar found him back, that he's depicted with white lines for legs?
-
Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
Huh. I hadn't noticed that.
Suddenly that doesn't look very good at all. :smalleek:

Clearly, Godcat.

In the early strips, the wizard was turned into a lizard.

Oh, it's Mr. Met! (Panel 20.)
I never noticed that either.

Panel 5
I never realized that the Gladiators "Offpanelo" and "Notseenicus" were the third match in the games.

There's also Vermilius and Ceruleus: RED vs BLUE.

Re: Things You Never Noticed III: The Search for Spot
I just noticed the parallels in this book.
Compare Redcloak's view on the undead to Malack's.
830 vs. 875
Giant probably thinks more casters need to take the Still Spell feat.
830 & 876
See how Belkar breaks the news of the death of a party member compared to Redcloak.
832 vs. 880
Just to get started.
