Santiago looks up to Josie with a raised eyebrow.
"Can you not see a jest when one is in front of your face? It's called intimidation, but wait, shall we see if that is ok with Mr. Doddlehop?" he stands and waves him off, "pff, perhaps if you took your nose from betwixt his rear end, you might see it."
Fillangus Doddlehop shrugs. "Any way we could do this over some hot food?"
Josie's grin only widens. "Oh, I always spot a jest when its worth a laugh, I assure you." At the more vulgar comment he says nothing, though mentally noting the distance between the merchant's arse and his beltpouch.

Merchant is just cold, hungry, and uncomfortable out there at night. :smalltongue:
Seeing the young girl agree, Simon sighs, and unties her.
"Girl, don't make me regret this. You might also try telling us your name, if you have one."
After she is freed, he turns to the other, this man, the one with the strange sword, and asks.
"Will you give your parole, or would you rather remain tied up?"
whispering ...Cassie Galestorm can I have my scythes back?
"Nice to meet you, Cassie. I am called Simon. As for your scythes, that depends. Are you going to try and use them on us again?"
Simon seems to be perfectly reasonable and polite, but there is this edge of caution that flows through him.
she shakes her head no.
Simon looks to the others, checking to make sure that none object to handing the beaten up girl her weapons again. Seeing none, he reaches behind him, and produces 2 scythes, a bow, and some arrows, passing them to her.
she takes them and jumps into the nearest tree and looks at simon.
Simon just looks at her, warily, wondering if she is going to attack again. However, this does not show in his face, and he speaks softly.
"Is there any reason in particular that you jumped up the tree? We are not going to hurt you, unless you try and hurt us again. We are also going to be heading into the village, so you can't stay there forever."

she turns her hair making her almost vanish but she doesnt seem to be running she seems as if she likes to be alone.
"What about this one then?" Fillangus asks skeptically.
"Yes, what about this other one..."
After a few seconds of silence Josie shrugs and plops down in front of the second attacker indian style and stares at him with the eye not hidden by hair. "To be honest, I'm not sure I like you. You're loud and sarcastic, which as it happens are my roles. Still, it takes a certain kind of stupid to go into armed combat with a group this large over a lady you hardly know, so I recon your a goodly enough sort." Josie looked smugly at his employer. "Hell, I'd say you employ him. He'd fit in fine with this lot."
Fillangus Doddlehop chuckles joyously. "I might take that to heart were I not already employing nine others. I'm just not sure how many more we could need killing things like bears and trolls. Hardly seems you'd need more ay?"
Josie looked at his employer still-faced for a moment and then chuckled and stood again. "Well, I was joking anyway of course."
"Yes, yes, can always count on you. Regardless if you think it safe lets cut him loose and have him help us clear thee last few yards in exchange for a meal. I could do with something warm in me."
"Hey now, don't go cutting my rope, unless you are going to be paying for it. Just untie him."
Simon, of course, has simply been waiting.
Josie smiles at Simon. "As you like it." Josie takes the time to undo the prisoner's ropes, careful to provide himself a little bit of distance as the ropes finally came undone. His motives in getting so heavily involved with the affair remain something of a mystery.
Douglass slowly stands, still somewhat woozy from literally getting the life beat out of him.
"Now, if I could kindly have back my possessions, I would like to head back to town, as there are a bunch of people in the inn cowering behind a bar. I would like to let them know how smart they truly are..." says Douglass, shaking his head..
As an afterthought, he adds mostly to himself, "...and I must let him know to keep teaching the children...politics..."
Robert Macbane.
Bob has been bringing up the rear of the group the entire time. Not completely unware of what has been transpiring, he initially took to keeping an eye out behind them in case of a two pronged attack. when that became unlikely, he went to the front, and simply stayed behind the rest of the group, waiting to see what happened.

While completely out of it while the commotion occurred, Ryuuhei had a strange dream about the cooked bear's severed body coming back to life, pushing the boy off a cliff. What the...bear zombie... stay away! I am not afraid... I'll figghh--aarrgghh!!
Falling down the cold, hard earth awakened Ryuuhei. Despite being groggy from the fall, he managed to observe the unusual scene--Two people, a girl around his age and an adult man, whose bonds are being undone by his companions one after the other. Completely oblivious as to what had transpired, he approached the scene and asks his companions. He was looking at Josie and the nearby stranger in particular, although he'll welcome any response.
"Eh, I assume that the situation was not of dire importance since nobody bothered waking me up. Then again... Anyway, what's up with this commotion?"
Josie glanced up and gave his characteristic grin and brushed some of his hair back, an effort which didn't seem to achieve much as far as getting his hair out of his eyes. "Oh, nothing too significant. We had a little violent misunderstanding with some of the locals. But thanks to the efforts of Simon and Santiago, it's been rectified. One of them may even be joining us. Well, that's the jist of it anyway."
Casimir
Casimir shook his head slowly from side to side. Things had happened fast...too fast, and with his thoughts having been scrambled all day after what he was referring to as the "incident" last night he wasn't in any mood to try and keep up. However now things had settled down a bit, he sat down with the rest, "I am Casimir," he stated, probably in a more understated way than he would have done 24 hours ago.
As the man asks for his weapons back, Simon, once more, reflects his somewhat cautious nature.
"You willing to give us an agreement to not use them on us? And to not attack innocent travelers again?"
Douglass glances at Josie.
"I cannot speak for her.." he says while nodding to the tree, "but I am no local, as you'll see once you enter the town, assuming you all are what you say you are and this is just not some elaborate cover..."
Upon Simon's comment, Douglass turns and glares.
"Yes, because 'innocent' travelers attack young girls...and threaten to drag half dead men behind a cart..." Before Simon, or anyone else can retort, Douglass hold up is hand.
"No, we've bandied enough words on the subject, what's done is done, and I've grown tired of this... I will not use my weapons on you..."
I'm going to go back to town, and sleep for a week Douglass thinks to himself...
As the man continues to be belligerent, Simon shrugs.
"It seems that you dislike us rather extremely. Why would we trust your word? After all, you seem quite capable of ignoring facts that don't fit your view of the world, such as her attacking us, so why wouldn't you ignore a little thing like an agreement to not attack us?"
"Look at it from my perspective. I come upon a group of people hitting a small girl with morning stars. You say she attacked you first, but she has not agreed to that that I have heard. So the only word I have to go by is the word of the assailants from my perspective. The only thing you have going for you at this point is that you didn't let us die, but I don't know if that was 'brains' acting alone, or if none of you are as bloodthirsty as you currently seem...besides you very nearly killed me...I think I have a right not to be too fond of you at present..." says Douglass, getting frustrated...
