So the cat really isn't a bound demon this time. Praise be. Wenomir pets Chatri some more. Once again, the warrior briefly wonders if he'd like a pet himself, but doesn't focus on it. He does need to stop petting the cat to get to the other part of his purpose here.

He's not sure about the specifics, but since the end result is Cassandra no longer having a demon familiar and Wren being able to live his own life instead of hitchhiking in someone else's head, it's obviously for the best. "My gift is less furry. It's a book series I saw someone in Vigil read. I thought it might be to your taste."
If Cassandra opens the package after retrieving it from Wenomir, she will find that it contains three books. The first one is a young elf man, wearing a knightly main and tabard and holding a spear, set against a burning castle. Behind him are two other figures, a scrappy-looking young orc woman with a pair of curved swords and a slim blonde male human with magic swirling around his hands.
