Well, the following image best sums up my scholastic experience; although I somehow manage to get high marks at uni without expending much effort (which is to say I procrastinate like nobody's business).

Re: Elemental's Excitingly Excellent Random Banter: No.CLXXVII
I am badly ill with a bad bug?
How bad?
Enough that with less than a week until That Which Shall Not Be named I've been advised more-or-less point blank to do no work at all for two days. I feel really bad.
I am shamelessly needy, very cold, shaky, a little feverish and any further explanation would likely make you all queasy.
So in the grandest tradition of all children ever: hugs and cuddles and comfort please?

sometimes i would really like access to the Protoss tech tree...

If that doesn't make you feel better, seek hospitalisation immediately!

You're not the only one with the bug at the moment. My body temperature seems to be swinging wildly - one second I'm shivering and freezing cold, the next you could poach an egg on my forehead. :smallsigh:
And on top of the myriad other problems I have going on in my life right now, it's something I could REALLY have done without. >.> My advice, or at least what seems to be working for me, is to keep your fluids topped up as much as you can, with sweet fruit to give you a little energy.

Get better soon Curly, it always sucks being terribly sick.
Also, I'm not a big fan of tea OR coffee. The only tea I really like is iced lemon tea, and I only like the smell of coffee.

Oh god I just spent all night 'til 3 in the morning skyping with this girl and she's kinda amazing and gorgeous and heart-breaking and living in boston and I better not fall in love with her cuz that would suck.
I need coffee.

Thanks.
Protoss? Is that a thing like Starcraft in that it's a sci-fi RPG, but completely unlike it in that it takes less than two hours to figure out how to start playing it?

Hinting at something?
Or just wanting to induce some rage/geekgasms in varying levels to take my mind off things?
(Besides, I'm watching 'The Invasion' darling. So amazing. And the CyberSuits! You can make out the zippers on the front of those things clear as day! Even in the obligatory sewer level!)

Sounds like what I have, minus the violent expulsion of bodily contents. Speaking of which, can't even drink water. Tried three sips of lukewarm water, and not two minutes later was vomiting it up into a bowl, near crying with frustration.

Trufax.
And now it's time to call in the cavalry. If I can't even drink water without throwing up I need a friend to go get me things that'll help and won't make me throw up.

Re: Elemental's Excitingly Excellent Random Banter: No.CLXXVII
I refuse to ever drink green tea again after having gone to Japan. It was offered to me instead of water about 95% of the time and I am so sick of it. I think I drank something like 14 cups in my first three days there. :smallyuk:

I think you may be to late.
Anyway, so, today, I'm doing a thing. A fairly important thing.
This thing is applying for a job at Walmart. I've got my application done, just need to put it in. So uh, yha. Wish me luck

Yeah probably.
HURRAH FOR GAINFUL EMPLOYMENT.
You got one over me there... I suppose I'll go around stores in my neighbourhood soon flogging my resume.

The Protoss are a race in starcraft.
Something tells me you're getting the idea that it takes two hours to figure out how to play secondhand.

Let me tell you something about UKitP Meetup X.
Archie (Archonic_Energy) brought along Starcraft, and me, Ku, Archie, Fred(ain'tdead?) and someone else - Factotum? - tried to figure out how to play it.
First time any of us had tried, even though Archie'd had it for at least a year by this point.
A little over two hours later we were maybe halfway through Phase One of Turn One. And Very Lost.
I legged it to go hang out on the snow with other Playgrounders and admire the Snow Dalek because I do not have any attention span worth mentioning.
By the time I came back to the room everyone'd said "Screw it," and were just chatting.

It's an RTS, there ARE NO TURNS.

More opportunity from living in a bigger city, at least. Still, the youth unemployment rate in Toronto is STUPIDLY high, and I'm a male teenager with no work experience, who's probably going to have an alternative haircut by then.
The only way I could be less employable would be if I was a visible minority.
(While it may not be true for other age-ranges, female teenagers have FAAAAR lower unemployment rates, at least in this city)

Re: Elemental's Excitingly Excellent Random Banter: No.CLXXVII
I've now been able to hold down fluids for approximately two hours without wanting to be ill. Even if my mouth is now horrendously dry due to having to supplement my water intake with energy drinks in order to build up the sugars I need. AND I HATE ENERGY DRINKS WITH A PASSION!
I have never been so proud of something so basic.
Being ill sucks.
Oh, and my back is very sore from try to find a place to sit, legs extended due to being cramped in bed.
I pity Serpy darling for her improvised chair-bed now. Your back canes.
Owies.

Re: Elemental's Excitingly Excellent Random Banter: No.CLXXVII
Ugh, i caught a cold.
Damn my father for "Insisting" on visiting his children even though he's sick.
Now we have all caught what he had because of that! :smallmad:
Couldn't he at least have waited until he stopped being contagious?
Ungh

Just remember Curly, walk it out. You're strong, you've survived up to maybe 20 years in a fragile human body, you can beat this. Go go super humanity!

Believe it or not he's actually helping. You're building up immune systems.
Trust me, as someone who's been sick for abooout a year and a half at one point in my life, it's better to get small bouts of sickness now, then more big ones later.

I refuse to call anything that can fall 1000+ meters and walk away from the ordeal fragile.

Given, common colds are notorious for their ability to mutate and the million forms they take, so having one cold generally doesn't protect you against the next one.

You misunderstand - I wasn't asking if you were one... I was asking if being an invisible minority would make you harder to hire. :smalltongue:
