Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
I is bored.
Keith is at LANTERN, awaiting orders from 'Rae-Bozz'.
Garrett is waiting on TE to get back so's RPG can find out if the 'port worked.
Alex is plotting...
Edgar is doing surgery and drinking lotsa booze.
Crap.
I need to make one last character.
But he or she needs to be awesomesauce...
What to do, what to do?
I could make a gnome, but gnomes never really work out that well in FFRP...

I think it'd be pretty hard to get Fluffy into a tree.
Maybe a redwood. Maybe.
-
Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
A dragon?
Naw...I should make a humanoid...
One that can join one of the groups...
HALO seems to be the most popular one around...
-
Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
The thing about HALO is that it doesn't do much outside of HALO. Kinda sticks nigh-completely to itself, from what I know. I don't read it. >.>

That's because it's Ebon Mirror's child.

It's a conspiracy!

Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
Oh...
Thing is, I wanna make a character that works well in the long run (so he can do something awesome, like and wolfbane and the Empire) but has something to do right now...

Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
I got to go pick up my aunt, so I'll be back in a bit.

Rae is gone from LANTERN, but he pretty much has standing orders of "Keep Maxios out of trouble" That apply to every Lanterner but Maxios himself. Keith seems to be trying to do that, so he's fitting in pretty well.

Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
You know.. I just noticed that I have a bad habit of giving my characters psychological issues. Like, almost all of them have some sort of neurosis from/about/because of some or other thing...
I wonder what this says about me...

Character psychological issues? It's perfectly normal.

You're already being awesome, TS.
If you mean a character that's eventually part of the Empire forces, I imagine DC and Wolfbane would want you to get a bit more experience in the setting, since they're trying to keep a sense of consistency in how the Empire functions. Maybe check in with one of them in a month's time, when Wolfy is back from Christmas break.

Thanks.
And I meant more along the lines of getting my hospital really successful, adding areas, mini governments and bureaucracies and st00f.

Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
Do we really leave that much of an impression on people?
-
Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
Oh, I'm sorry, how long has the Empire you created been running everything here and been allowed to powerplay on everyone? No matter what anyone does, the Empire has some sort of answer.
So yes, you are that awesome.
-
Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
They took over by force in a three way onscreen battle a year or two ago. They were kind of the bad guys then, but eventually there was an internal coup to eject the power hungry Emperor Vyrn and replace him with a more benevolent leadership.
They pretty much only exert their power within the city and immediate environs though. They don't act outside the city unless they're provoked. The city of Town (currently inactive), the organizations, Outside, and the city of Riverside (which doesn't have a thread yet, but presumably will), are free from Empire influence.
-
Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
So, they might accept help from a smaller outside source?
Say, a source run by mad scientists or something equally awesome?
-
Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
Don't really see where you're coming from with the powerplay thing. The Empire very rarely acts first, and I try to be careful about force application. Most of what I do use, even then, tends to find trouble.
Though having the ability to deal with a lot is kinda necessary in the Nexus.
Admittedly, there's not exactly much that can check the Empire's power, other than things like gods (which I very strongly prefer to not get the Empire involved with) and other massive-scale things.
And pretty much every effort at an out-of-the-Empire city or even nation has failed. I'll be watching to see if Riverside succeeds, for instance. As for more assistance...well, dunno. Depends on what kind of assistance.
Also, with regards to where the Empire acts: I also have a thread for locations within Imperial territory, but it's largely ignored in favor of Outside, so it's kinda dead at the moment and can't be used at the moment due to thread necromancy rules.
-
Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
The mods generally approve necromancy if you have a reason though. You just have to get permission first.
-
Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
I am working on that right now, actually.
-
Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
Not to change the subject, but I want to start a new War Island thread. Any objections?

Maybe try explaining.
-
Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
No objections, but if more people aren't interested, it will probably just die again.
@ RPG: It was basically a valuable island somewhere for people to fight over territory, but without any pesky npcs around to get slaughtered. Constant combat type place.
-
Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
I say we just say Ghar was strong enough to port no matter what Sefrine did.
'Cause I'm getting bored.
Unless it fails in some awesome and/or explosive manner. Cause then we get to have fun AND booze.

I'd be making it set in a different island. It'd have castles for each current ACRO (HALO, AMEN, GLOG, WATCHTOWER, NO, SAINT, and LANTERN.) The PCs would get there by joining a contest where if their group wins, they gain infinite power a LOT of cash and magic items.
Anyway, it's settled, I'll start the War Island thread
-
Re: [Nexus] Nexus OOC VIII: Portable Atrocities
I dunno. Considering there have been multiple War Island threads in the past, all of which have died, I doubt it would work.

We still need TE around to do anything.

Ok. I wouldn't oppose it. Not my kind of thing though. A bit of combat here and there is good, but constantly? No.

Perhaps. But making it so anyone, regardless of wheter in a group, could join, would make it more accesible. Let's think of it as an experiment
@Rpgs: It wouldn't be constant combat. There would be a lot negoatian and diplomacy as well
